We join Chris Dalton as he breaks in a new Browning X Bolt rifle and Ariat Catalyst Defiant boots ahead of a roe rut stalk. Then he sets out early on the morning of 1 August in anticipation of encountering some rutting activity... but there's none to be seen. The caller won't be much good so Chris has to rely on his wits to grass a buck...
Afterwards, Chris gives us another instalment of his much-loved gralloching tips, showing you how to deal with some of the steps people really struggle with.

I have seen a Lot of gralloching on youtube, but they always do something wrong. This however is great. I have never liked using a bone saw, but i like how you do it, and i will have a go at it this weekend! Cheers.

Bravo sir, that was a clean and professional looking job on that specimen. Quick and humane shot too by the looks.

Outdoor Edge makes a small and handy bone saw.

I just recently bought a silence for my .308Win Ruger rifle. When I targeted in the rifle with the silencer all the bullets hit the target about 6cm on right but in nice group of under 2cm. Is that normal with silencer that the bullets hits different as without silencer?

Franz what you will find is that some, not all moderators will shift the round a bit. My suggestion is to make note of your settings and adjust the optics so you are hitting where you would like. While in Germany I was lucky to use a moderator while hunting and the way the rifle shot was so nice. But here in Kanada they are verboten! I assume you are using the 308 for wild boar?

He might be using the (likely) cheaper ppu ammo to sight in the rifle, then switch to his hunting ammo to just set a new zero. It's just an idea though 👍🏼
