  • It's a stalking masterclass from Ayrshire's finest Chris Dalton in episode 211 of The Shooting Show.
Earlier this year, towards the end of the doe season, Chris heads out for a couple of last-minute stalks. Getting the deer on the ground is just the start - he's going to give us a lesson in carcass prep, too, showing us the tools and techniques he uses for a clean gralloch every time. Of course, that means we need a successful stalk first - and that's far from guaranteed...
Then we bring you the Shooting Show news, with the latest on how airgun licensing could affect Scottish shooters plus rural attractions at the UK Game Fair.

After we have seen the taking of an animal & the gralloch in the field.....
But what is done with the contents of the body afterwards?
I thought that surely they don't leave them for the scavengers, so what is the usual best practice?

Well Damien I worked in a slaughter for a few years and I can tell you that your comment is very wrong, I don't think there's a problem with the dog, my point is if your going to post a video of this you could at least get it right, I have done my DS2 and can't remember anyone telling me that sort of thing is OK, so why not just admit your wrong on this occasion after all non of us are perfect and I like to think we learn by are own mistakes.
    Regards Alan.

seams a bit pointless making such a good job of the dressing the deer only to have the dogs mouth all over your hand when giving it the treat, maybe its just me, but your showing how not to do it, just my opinion though no harm meant.

Food animal processing has never been an aseptic operation. You may not want to see how a commercial plant gets your prime rib ready. That dogs mouth is probably cleaner than mine.
