Just recently bought one. Amazing OD , can't stop playing it.
it really ties the mix together man
Thats, like your opinion, man!
You never cease to amaze! This track has a sweet early '70s vibe and rhythm with tight picking and a sweeping beat! You have so much creative stock in you Pete.
Great sound, Pete!
Awesome playing as well.
Thank you for sharing.
Pete the step up lick at around :54 is sweet. Never really thought of that approach. Pick up a thing or more every time I listen to and watch you Brother. Thanks for all you do for the guitar players world.
Thanks Pete, just got mine, I love it!
Main riff is great, class playing and great vid as always, thanks very much.
Impressed every time I visit your channel. Killer licks.
I've been a fan of these since I bought an Archer! I kept saying that I wanted to hear one of these, but never got around to it.Thank you Peter, nice job,on all accounts!
Great demo, that Es-335 and tele are stunning
Great playing! Love all of Pete's pedal demos. It's truly inspiring to see such a soulful technique. Stealing all I can from this guy!
Thanks man!
Awesome, great track, "I'll just write this just now," you are a very tasteful player indeed. Love your vids.
The best demos around. Thanks for another great one, Pete. I'd be interested to hear your take on the differences between The Dude and Animal.
Love this guy!! Cracks me up! Makes it look so effortless... Great video, Thorn!
Thank you!
Excellent as always! Opening riff kinda reminded me of King's X.
Great pedal and awesome playing as usual Mr Thorn my favourite tone is my hot rod deluxe 111 with a providence velvet comp on the clean channel then for solos kicking in my mini TC boost when gigging tonal heaven
Great stuff, and tones! really enjoy the videos you put out great playing as always and a very good pedal. Dumble dumble ... looks like I'm going to be spending some more dosh! Damn these Rockett dudes, ha!
Was looking for a demo on this pedal and once I saw you had done one there was no need to watch any others. Yours are the best!
thank you sir!
Always impressed here. Nice playing man.
Great playing!
Really a great sounding box solid rock n roll
Transparent and warm!
it sounds awesome!!!!!
As ALWAYS Pete: Great Demo!!!! Excellent all round covered the Pedal Completely!!!! And, EXCELLENT Performances, Unique, Tasteful, & Very Cool!!!! Lots of Talent Pete!!!! I'm Buying this Pedal Next; the J Rockett "The Dude"!!!! Thanks Again for a Most Interesting & Informative Demo Pete!!!! :-D Wes
Loving the Reactive Load on the background.
Just bought this pedal today based on this video. Awesome pedal and your playing is simply amasing
thank u!
Seriously Pete, you should consider putting out a compilation album of all of these demo tunes. I'd buy it in a heartbeat. I don't care if they're full songs or not.
awesome bro
Dude...you're the master!
Good job nice tones
What makes you so impressive is your right hand. Flawless picking. I wish it was mine! I don't mean... Just... You know what I mean, I think. Going for "not creepy" here.
I think he gets it a lot.......I mean the compliments not the........what I meant was.......ah damn.
Hey Pete, good demo as always! Please finish that song at the beginning it sounds pretty cool and I'd like to download it.
Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuude... slick review and playin'...
You have the MOJO! Always killer to hear your demos.
:)
Dude why are you not more popular? You’re great guitar player. I’ve been playing for 30 years and if I played another 30 years I still wouldn’t be nearly as good as you
He's already very amous and has toured extensively the world with lots of well-known pro musicians.
You make the pedal sound great.
love this track Pete. it's like a funky Led Zeppelin
Great review and playing Pete.
I know you did a video on the Schaffer Replica tower, but will you be doing one also on the more affordable pedal version?
man, you are the dude! :-)
Absolutely amazing pedal. I have it maybe for a month, and I must say it will probably never goes out from my pedalboard. Such a great dynamic in lower gain settings. I love it. And such a cool name "Dude", right? :) Nice played Pete, by the way.
Damn you're good!
Lord have mercy! what is that amazing riff in the beginning?
Dang! Had to get The Dude. Pete, you really need to hook up with a lyricist and get some published material out there.
I think you are a melodic/riffmaster goldmine waiting to be tapped! Keep up the work...oh LOVE the Tele.
All I could make out was "Bone guitar" it is sick! As always ripping review!
Great stuff Pete, it sounds awesome man. Great video too btw! :)
I love your channel and I really like how y'all support other channels. That's class act and good stuff!
Master Thorn. 😎
Hi Pete. are you in your new studio yet? It would be great to see a video tour of your new studio.
Hey Pete! Great video. Thanks! Just got one of these a few days ago. LOVE it! Great pedal. Especially like the dynamics, touch sensitivity, and harmonics it brings at the lower settings. Noticed you were using a power supply. Standard Boss PSA-120, or something different? Thanks. I have a battery in mine right now, but man it's cramped in there with a battery. Could barely get the cover back on and the one screw in where the battery sits. :)
can't believe you didn't put quote from the movie in here! I kept waiting for one lol
Another fine demo, Mr. Thorn. This is one of those tones that I didn't know I was missing, but after hearing this I had to try it out myself. Needless to say, after testing it myself at the store over the weekend, I'm figuring out where this pedal is going to fit on my crowded board!
Thanks, glad I inspired you to try this pedal, and I hope it satisfies
Where do you store all your equipment? You get new stuff like every week.
Your playing is so good that I suspect whatever piece of sh*t you used it would sound great. I'll take your word for it that this pedal is worth the $s ;-) Keep on keeping on.
Awesome as always, Pete!
Which would you say would let more complex 'extended' chords through better, the Dude, or Mad Professor's Royal Blue Overdrive??
Also, I play 8-string, so the lows have to be nicely balanced. I have a MP Fire Red Fuzz, and it sounds amazing; works nicely with my 8-string, and lets complex chords shine through. :)
What's the name of that song you're playing on 0:26??
Sounds awesome, thank you!
Hi Pete , on your favourite guitar , your favourite amp , what's your favourite drive/distortion box just for the sake off it ?
Love the demos and your playing really is inspirational, keep on rockin dude
Totally thought you were going to break into 'Heartbreaker' at the start of the tune there.
Pete can make a box of crayons sound good! This is a pretty cool pedal - on my short list to get
What kind of Les Paul is that at @4:37 ? Anyone else notice the crazy logo?
What was that real cool riff or tune at around the 4:15 up to the 5 minute mark? Would love to learn that.
Every time I hear a Dumble-style pedal, the tone reminds me of early Ty Tabor.
Eric F krackenthorpe: The riff he played several times was similar to Lost in Germany, but I think of early Ty tone as a bit glassier....
Love this. What program you are using for the drum track?
Seems like no matter what amp Pete uses, he always starts with a brilliant shimmering just beginning to grind base tone; not what I would generally consider "clean".
i wouldn't leave a cup of coffee near all of that expensive gear... but that's up to you, Pete.
You rock!!
Coffee is a prerequisite
+Pete Thorn I've given up everything else. Coffee is all I have left. My coffee maker is every bit as essential as picks and strings. :)
+Mike Stillwagon I understand completely
it's gonna drive me crazy
Dude... Dude!
Hi Pete, awesome as always! Have you ever played a Dumble ODS..?
Never!
+Pete Thorn surley someone will lend you one for a demo!? all the other Dumble demos are crap, we need one in your hands!
10/10 playing Pete
i bought one of these .. convinced after i played about 5 notes that is was what i was looking for
in order to get that tone, it used to take me 2 pedals.. one boost and one drive.. in this case, it's all in one pedal..i revommend it hightly to everyone
Pete you should seriously copyright your song demos so nobody else claims them as their own. THEY'RE THAT GOOD!!!!! Cheers!!
+JayRoc You don't have to "copyright" anything. You *have* copyright on all your original work. By law.
Being able to prove that is where you might need to do some work. But Pete has some pretty good evidence of creating them in these videos :)
Joris Griffioen To anyone reading that for the sake of your music dont believe it! As far as courts go if it isn't copywriten the correct way then it won't count in court! Please get everything you record copywriten!
@@firemarshal2629 word.
This is the truly the only DUDE i can call Mr.Wonderful....Wonderful as always with your in depth demo's....WELL DONE SIR!!!
Pete, how would you compare this to the simble? Both pretty much do the same?
both played very nice. You can't go wrong with any of this. If I could say Simble is more "Dumblish" :) Dude has more its own character..
Pete - you've got so many good song ideas from these demos that you may just have to release a double CD album. Just sayin'. :)
Make sure you never play The Eagles with this pedal.
I'm looking for Jeff Bridges, but I don't see him.
haha
the Big Lebowski is probably directing/producing this..., ha! just bought the V2 for 190, sold it for 150, so down 40, now i kinda regret it and saw an ad used for 100 v1, so Ill more than break even...oh this pedalpeddling.....
You could play a twig with a piece of twine on it and make it sound amazing.
But where are the mids, chirp, and phasey thing associated with the Dumble sound? Hmm....
Tell the folks at J. Rockett that I vote the Pedal be called "The Thorn" and Pete be hence forth called "The Dude" ...just dont know if Jeff B will agree with this...
Have you ever played through an Ethos or a Simble od? If so, how does this one compare? Or can you be honest when being payed for making videos like this? ( not to say you are not honest.. I mean this in a neutral way )
i need more thumbs with which to up
his name sounds so familiar
I like second .47...
Pete is the Chuck Norris of guitar product demos. He could play a 2x4 with strings wound around nails and obliterate any other gear demo on CZcams.
who's Pete thorn?
Sounds like a TS with more presence
Is it just me or does this sound like what I imagine a klon going into a ods?
A bit harsh sounding through my phones but their pedals are superb.
Thanks for uploading.
Great tones and playing as always man!
Although, I will say I'm not as big of a fan of the new location for your "talking" bits. It makes the video feel less homely (friendly? Intimate? Something?). It definitely still works, just not my favorite. You do you though man! Keep it up.
Ha, I just went outside on this one for fun... Mixing it up. I'll still be sitting in my good ol chair inside for most of these...
Music sounds like one of those Mike Herman demos with the cheesy drums where you skip through to get to the part where he's just playing without a backing track. Great playing of course.
Second view!!! Yey!!! Not...
Sounds like shit in the exact right way
Seems a tad muddy? Better suited for leads than rhythm I guess?
+xchump Dumble-y! Warm but still cuts- fat- "American", not Marshally
Where’s the money lebowski?
Such an overrated pedal, Pete makes it sound good since he's killer but I'm actually not impressed.
+Mike Hudson I politely disagree. I tested this pedal against about 10 other pedals in the similar price range over the weekend, and this one really stood out. Unique tone and circuit design, very amplike feel, and just inspiring to play. It's also built very solidly. I didn't feel the same about the Klon clones that JRAD put out recently, but this one will be on my board soon.
Ja Tin i guess I can't argue since I haven't played it but it doesn't sound any better than the simpble or euphoria to me.
But that all comes down to personal preference. I just didn't se the magic or any special dynamics in this one.
+Mike Hudson Absolutely right about personal preference. The good news is it's a great time to be alive for tone chasers!
I have two Rockett pedals and I absolutely love them. I'm sure this is also great but I agree that this doesn't sound anything like what I think of when I think of classic dumble tones.
I’m sorry I wasn’t listening…
