Exploring Near Munising Michigan Find Face Carved In Rock Waterfall and Rocks

Took a road trip to Upper Peninsula near and around Au Train Michigan and into Munising, Michigan to Scott Falls. The falls drops about 10 feet over a sandstone cliff into a small pool. The falls can be seen from the highway;
across the road from the H.J. Rathfoot State Roadside Park. Super easy access and a fun little waterfall to see and photograph.
Located along highway M-28 in Alger County, near the town of Au Train. This gentle waterfall is located east of Au Train and west of Christmas. Watch for the sign, park and view.
Then walked across the street to see, H.J. Rathfoot State Roadside Park which offers restrooms, picnic areas, and a sandy beach hugging Lake Superior. Also there is the historical "Face in the Rock" which is a carving in the sandstone rock along the shores of Lake Superior near AuTrain and Munising, and Grand Island in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
This carving was left by a French voyager in 1820 as a tribute to "Powers of the Air, the only survivor of the peaceful Chippewa band of Indians who lived on Grand Island in the 19th century but were persuaded to battle the Sioux Tribe in a bloody battle fought in Minnesota.
We ended the day by going to Munising Michigan to get a Yooper Pasty at Miners Pasty Kitchen, located at 215 W Munising Ave, Munising, MI 49862. The pasty was great as well as the crab rangoon egg roll.

Hi, Cherry! Loved seeing the waterfall and the beach. I like how it had the fallen logs over the creek. it just looked neat. I like seeing the water ripples patterns in the sand. I've always loved the Munising Pictured Rocks area. Thanks for taking us along 😊
It was a fun day on the beach with only one other person there. But when I went to the town in Munising there was hardly anything opened yet. To early in the season. This was just last weekend. Thank You for watching 😊
Nice video. Love that sandstone you first picked up. Would absolutely love to go there and get some of that kona. Wow. I have a 10”saw and could cut plenty of that.

I have no idea of how many times I've driven past the falls. You have me wanting a Yooper Pasty it's been many years since the last pastry that I have eaten, I love to eat them with ketchup or barbecue sauce. I lived near a little restaurant that you had to call to make sure they had some left and tell them how many you wanted and they were ready to go when I would get there and they were always awesome and big. Hello Robert. I had a really good time exploring around the area. I went to other places on this day that were awesome. I will have to do another video on the rest of the day. The falls are pretty and the beach was amazing. This was just last weekend. I could only find one place that had pasty's that were opened. A lot of the the town is still not opened for the tourist yet. Pasty's are good eaten' I also like ketchup on mine :) Thanks for watching😊
Ha fase in the rock, cool! Got up at 345 Am just turned the laptop on and watch yous video. Biopsy at 645 today. Gayle has to do that today. It's a bad spot so it's concerning for us! So ya, I have to do chickens let them out early.

That water fall is so pretty! I don't know why people always feel the need to carve their names in something. I think I see it. Yup I did see it. I was expecting it to be bigger lol. Sure is a pretty shore line. Be cool to have a house close-ish on that upper edge. Those ancient fossils are too cool! Those really are large rocks. Some are really pretty. I suppose you could cut them, though. You've done that before. Pretty amazing anything is left of that face carving after all these years. Oh man that pasty looked delicious!
It was a fun day that went on and on. I will have to divide this trip into a few videos. It was a perfect time of the year to visit this area. Not hardly a soul around anywhere that I went to. Even the town was 75% closed still for the winter season. I was lucky to get a pasty seeing most of the businesses where still closed. There was no snow up there that which is strange for up there. The pasty shop lady said, yes we hardly got any snow this year, only 40 feet she said. That is low for them 😲 Thanks for watching 😊
