He played , he didnt coach. He is talking thinking star players (if ManUtd has even one) should be treated like kings, caus no one ever says no to him. Thats wrong with modern football: the players rule. While it should be the other way around: you get paid buttloads of money so you give it a 1000%! Thats the difference with last season: the players think they are big stars again.

@@Pieter-ns5nvthere are players that give it their all that are big stars though… they just play for different teams than United. Ten Haag is partially responsible since some of them he recruited. Even from his old club that are playing like ass. They don’t recruit the big stars with good mentality which teams like Liverpool and city do.

@@Pieter-ns5nvso many coaches said no to Zlatan, starting from Van Gaal at Ajax arriving to Pep at Barca. Zlatan has always been a star, but you need to separate his arrogant side from the overall player, because he surely had many defects, but he was an amazing player. He had balls to tell Wenger that he didn't do trial when he was an Ajax player, and in his early 20s he had Capello as manager in a stellar dressing room (Capello other than the coach of the "Invincibles" Ac Milan who beated 4-0 Cruijf's Barca in the CL final, was also known as a coach with high temper and authority. Pep didn't treat him as he was expecting, but even if Barca was a dream for him, Ibra took his own path and kept winning and deciding football in Europe and US, coming back in Europe for an incredible Scudetto with Milan. He know what he's talking about. And ten Hag didn't pay Ronaldo the respect that deserved, because you can take any decision that you want as a coach, but if you can't cope with the personality of one of the best players ever that can give some winning knowledge only by being there, you've already failed.

Even stars have to listen to the boss. You cant compromise on a player based on his popularity. That will give incentive for others to challenge your leadership. Sir Alex got rid of Beckham. It was actually physical altercation kind of disagreement and he had to leave. None of the players in the current United squad are at a star level that Beckham was back then. Football is a team effort. Stars cater to their status at an individual level and so that is not important in the grand scheme of things. Ten Hag should not waver to divas in the dressing room. Any player that seems to have an issue with his way should leave when it’s appropriate.
