    We finished 12 behind City:
    we bottled a 2-0 lead to Everton for 3-3 : 2 points
we lost to bottom placed Sheffield : 3 points
we drew Palace away by wasting sitters : 2 points
we drew at Anfield, again wasting very good chances : 2 points
we threw 2 points at West Brom away : 2 points
We could easily have been in a title fight longer.. just because of shocking defending and poor finishing, we blew it after January.. that Sheffield game honestly destroyed the spirits completely..

That Sheffield game completely changed things for them too that season, however it was already too late anyway. Their second half form was incredible, but not enough to fix their abysmal first half season of form.

    No proper preseason
Had to start the season a week late

was given Cavani and telles on the last day,was given vdb a player he never wanted
Maguire,Lindelof,Shaw and the entire team shaky at the start
United at one point were playing 3 games on a regular basis
Ole did not had time to make huge drastic line up changes during match weeks
Didn’t had Shaw for a month, lost Cavani and pogba through injuries at various stages.
Had to drop de gea over Henderson given the latter fits how Ole wanted to play

The problem with Manchester United is when fans hype up for those overperforming seasons, and when things go sour, they immediately demand the manager to be sacked.
Now they moan and cry about Ten Hag, but do they remember how much they wanted Ole to go back then? Back then they mocked Ole for not winning a trophy, but now Ten Hag winning a trophy and bringing the team to 2 back-to-back FA finals is suddenly skimped over.
Fans only want to remember good memories, because their painful and ignorant minds selectively choose not to look at the good things in the present and the bad things in the past. They instead only choose to look at good things in the past and bad things in the present.
Should Ole have stayed? Yes. But now that he isn't Man United manager anymore, people can just shut up and root for Ten Hag's team.
Man United fans blame the Glazers for the club's downfall, but their ignorance pretends like they are somehow "better".

if you're going to show what martial did for that red card you got to show what Lamela did right before that both should have been sent off

Painful season. Just pain to the eyes to watch them play. They finished 2nd because Liverpool were struggling and that showed the next season how bad UTD were.

Ole's Man United had one strong point. They could really attack. They were very lethal and dangerous in attack. Their attack was quick and well cordinated. That's why I still believe if CR7 hadn't come, right now they would have been very far

Honestly, I think United should always be a counter attacking team, no need for this possession based bs.. counter attacking is the real DNA of Manchester United

I think that was the only Season Man UTD really had a very good chance of finishing above Man City and Winning the League, they just needed to win more they drew too many games.

If you think about it this squad was built over numerous seasons by different managers.
Imo this is a bit of Fergi cus of De Gea bit of Moyes cus Rshford etc then Jose for Bailey, Pogba.
Rashford was on fire that szn.
All this team needed was good defenders and a good holding mid. Defending was shocking which resulted to loads of goal utd conceded thus got them a couple draw and that followed along with them finishing 2nd. The attack was tremendous. Fred was the worst hold cdm I’d ever seen no joke… looked better a bit forward like central of the field

Ten Hag only wishes his team created one on one chances or chances in front of goal like Oles team did. He also dreams of his team scoring 9 goals in a game. Oles problem was the defense.
