Circus Dog Blues : Marc Bristol & the Big Rock Band, Fremont Fair, 1987

Here's my take on a classic line used in dozens, or hundreds of Blues songs back to the beginnings of the genre. It's the title song of one of my CDs, but the version there is acoustic guitar, piano, harmonica and upright bass. I love this version for the tone I'm getting with the Gretsch Streamliner through the Ampeg Reverberocket amp! I DID record it with these guys, but the engineer didn't have an isolation box for the amp and insisted I record the guitar direct into the mixing board. The resulting 10 song cassette titled "Wam Bam Boom" hasn't been reissued on CD. The title and verse containing it are a nod to my circus heritage as my great-grandpa owned a circus and my grandma was a performer from age 5.
