Yes, I actually preferred going to goodwill as you can find real denim but the last time I went 3 pair for $20. One pair actually split on me at work! They weren’t even tight. But all of the other ones have lasted forever. The new ones are stretchy/skinny jeans and after a couple of washes, they are stretched out! I was then told to get a smaller size. I bought a 4, they were very snug and washed them carefully in gentle cycle, cold and low heat dry. I didn’t even dry them completely. After sitting down once, I stood up and they turned into balloon pants! Does anyone else know why this happens and how to keep that from happening?

I give to my own charitable causes. Goodwill should NOT ask customers to give to their causes. Especially when every single thing they sell was GIVEN to them. Any money they make above and beyond basic operating costs should go to their charity. It blows my mind.

A lot of clothing that goes into goodwill doesn’t even get sorted and is just tossed in a dumpster or sent to the dealers who bale it up and send it overseas where they auction the bales to poverty stricken communities who sort through the ones they win and then sell the stuff that is in decent shape to make a living. What isn’t kept is sent to massive landfills. Also, anything that is donated to goodwill that is exceptionally nice is pulled and sent to goodwill’s equivalent of EBay. It’s a racket. My bother worked as the director of maintenance for over a decade. He made over $70k a year. The people working the retail level make pennies compared to what the higher ups do. I stopped shopping there a long time ago due to the prices. I only shop and donate to our locally owned, truly non profit stores now and I make sure to research where the money and merchandise goes.

That happens at the shop I volunteer at. We won't sell it if it doesn't have a price tag. But then again, people change them. Many a time, we find dozens of tags on the floor of the dressing rooms. One time I was in the back and a volunteer priced a vintage sweater for $20.00. 15 minutes later, I was up at the register and a lady brought up the sweater with a $3.99 tag on it. I said no that was just priced at $20.00. As the manager was there and said no that's a purple ticket item. She didn't cause a fuss but stormed out. She knew she was caught. Another time I had priced 3 figurines separately. Later the woman at the register came back to me and said, " I don't think this looks right." All of the figurines had masking tape wrapped around the 3 of them together. People will try to get away with anything. In the 20 yrs. I've been there, I've seen it all.@@mpls6124
