As a leafs fan since '67, I like our chances more on the road than at home. If the bruins lose, I would trade Ullmark for a kings ransom. Not sure about his contract, just an idea. The leafs have gotten into the bruins players heads, we can't lose every game 7.

Leafs were playing to win, the bruins were playing like they were trying not to lose. That can’t happen in the playoffs
As a leaf fan that's what I've read about the leafs in past years in the playoffs so it's good to be on the other end of that
And in the beginning of the series, they Leafs were playing like they want to lose, which is why where we are at yet again, and I bet you the Leafs will uphold their tradition of losing game 7.....again.

I think it's funny, it's usually the Leafs that get roasted for choking in the play-offs
They both do, the Bruins more or so with how we fared historically in the playoffs and since we let the Flyers and Canadiens eliminate us while they were DOWN 3-0. The Bruins were also the ultimate meme last year choking a 3-1 series lead over the #8 seeded Panthers while we got the Presidents Trophy and made HISTORY with 65 wins.

Seems the Leafs are not the only team who's fans care enough to hate. This will probably get me thrown in the tower but, Toronto may not be the center of the Universe.

I’m a B’s fan and I took Toronto in 6. Just like last year. Once they changed to Bobrovsky FLORIDA won in 7. Leafs change to Woll and guess what? Looks like the same thing.
I'm a Leafs fan and quite frankly I still give the edge to Boston. Boston will come out hard next game as its an elimination game. They will be hard for Toronto to handle. Swayman is an ACE goalie. Yes I want my Leafs to win but sigh.........I have learned to never expect much. If Boston wins, you will gain a fan. I hate the Panthers and hope Boston or Toronto beats them. Panthers are a gimmicky franchise.
Can you imagine the madness if Swayman saves that breakaway and the Bruins scored with .1 seconds left? How important was that goal? 😂

@@PokemSockemHockey doesn’t mean anything it’s in the maple leafs culture. The team went like 25 years without getting past round 1. How many rosters have they gone thru in that time span? Probably hundreds of different faces and the same outcome, a first round elimination.

Neither team is trash.
82 games in a season, you meet 4 times in that season. Injuries, illness, schedule, missed calls, only buys you a mental edge.
The playoffs come and your now into a focused series where you are playing the same team over and over again. You learn your opponents intimately, tweai your game play and find a strategy that works for you.
Why anyone thought that one team would be rolling over the other team is beyond me. Both teams have highly skilled players trying to put their best game together and win as a team. Despite the Leafa dominating rhe first period, no goals on the Bruins. That was a combination of great defensive play holding back the Leafs from.being able to out any really solid good looks in the Bruins offensive zone, but also good goaltending. The Leafs have been very good at puck control and causing / creating turn overs and this has got to frustriaght the hel out of Boston. You can't score if you're stuck in your own zone.
The other layer is focus. Both teams are pretty tender at this point, and they are tired, so the chances they do get, can be stimied through a break in focus, or wobbliness becsuse of fatigue and tenderness.
You are watching good disciplined, raw hockey between two clubs. Bruins do not suck, and neither do the Maple Leafs, finally, they found their playoff gear.
Game 7 will be great. Both teams have a chance to exercise some demons.
Finally someone notices just how bad the overall level of hockey in this series is. It's a chokeoff between 2 professional choking teams. Only the Caps looked worse.
Take solace in at least this much: no matter what result comes of this game 7, memes will be reborn.
As a Panthers fan, I'm scared of whoever comes out, regardless of how good we looked against Tampa Bay. At the end of the day, it's a fresh series with a new team. Who better to know that than the Panthers, who beat statistical darlings back to back to back en route to their cup run, including the franchise's first ever sweep against the Canes--no way anyone would have thought that to happpen.

As a Leafs fan it feels weird to be the team on the opposite side of a collapse...Leafs have lost six straight game 7s. I do not have much confidence in them.
Bruins were an embarrassment before this game. Imagine having a diving rat as a captain.
Like steve dangle put it, the leafs are a zombie team. If they lose game 7, lots of trades will happen and many people will get fired. If they lose against the panthers, the same will likely happen. It's not even like they're playing to survive. They're dragging the other team down with them. And that's scary.

This one is really an interesting game 7. Like, who's going to choke harder? Both have a notorious superstition of choking now. But the history of leafs choking to the Bruins. I really don't think this game will end. I think we see 7 overtimes because both teams just won't be able to let themselves win, and someone's going to just score on themselves to put an end to it
Memes aside, it's honestly kinda sad. Both teams are great teams and no matter what their win is going to be put on the other team choking and letting them win. Not that they outplayed the other.
This is the thing to remember...the Bruins core has been shaken up significantly over the past 5 or so seasons. There are a lot of new faces, and a lot of the old ones aren't there anymore. It's easy to get down on them as they are now in a winner takes all scenario after having been firmly in then driver's seat...but let's not forget the Leafs' penchant for choking against the Bs. It's literally why I had to stop being a Leafs fan. Year after year of excellence in the regular season...only to disappear at playoff time. The Bruins aren't the first team to hit a wall like this, but they do have the odds on their side to win still. TO hasn't beaten them in a playoff series since 1959. So with that, and Game 7 being at the TD Gardens, I'd suggest to you that your quickness to write them off might be premature. They got a little overconfident, but I think that tonight was a wake up call for them and that they'll respond in Game 7.

I'm a Leafs fan, but calling the Bruins TRASH or a joke is just asinine. They are a damn good team and can easily mop up the Leafs in Game 7 at home. Lets not put this out there in the universe.
Agreed. Life long Leafs fan here - the B's could win or the Leafs could win but the style that the Leafs need to play to win is not the style that got them 100+ points in the regular season. The same goes for the Bruins (but less so). I used to say that Toronto could not beat Florida - however - the somewhat boring but but effective style they are playing now will give Florida headaches. I am not saying the Leafs could win 4 out of 7 but they will look better than last year. The Bruins? If they face Florida they are dead before it starts. And I am not an anti-Boston Leafs fan - I just like hockey.

this series is playing out just like the 2013 conference finals. Leafs force game 7 just to choke it all in the end. It literally happens every time these two teams play each other in a series.

Leafs fan here. Game 5 was the easiest of the last 3 for us to win. Game 6 and 7 much tougher. Boston is a great team. This series seems to be about fluke bouces and puck luck. The reffing has been generally even but a few gaffes on both sides. Swayman is a god. Joe Woll in 2 games has been very good. No matter who wins, Florida will beat either team. (FYI I loathe Florida). I hope Toronto can pull this off but I will believe it when I see it. I can forsee Toronto outplaying Boston in game 7 but will still lose due to some crazy deflection or bounce or due to special teams. It should be a low scoring game 7. Whichever team wins I will be cheering hard for that team over the Panthers. I absolutely cannot stand the Panthers.

Bruins were never meant to be good this year.
I'm gonna put on my clown hat and still keep believing in Bruins. I'd say that we were able to generate offense, the first period obviously sucked, but it didn't feel like we had only 1 shot on goal. The end of 2nd period was much better and it came down to some puck luck and Woll's magic that we actually didn't score one. Also I don't think the team lacks effort. I just think that as history starts repeating itself they are experiencing some flashbacks and they are very hard on their sticks not making the right decisions with the puck.
This may sound insane but I think they need to relax more in the offense and whenever they get some separation to look for possibilities other than the first thing that comes to their mind.
So if the Bruins are trash, what does that make the Leafs since Leafs went down 1-3? Can't stand Leafs fans. One second it's "Our team is the worst it's over" next second "anybody that isn't us is TRASH"

I used to ref in the AHL and got to do some providence games when pasta was playing and I had the same feelings as you he was terrible and just turned it over all game and Cassidy hated him and was all over him the whole game because he didn’t care on the ice

Either team can win it. That’s how game 7s are. Best of 1. Weird bounces can decide it, goalies can steal them, etc etc . Leafs have a bit less pressure cause they were down and out and got themselves back in it. If they win it’ll be this awesome comeback and if not it’ll be like … well… atleast they fought back. Boston on the other hand has now given up a 3-1 series lead 2 years in a row . If they lose they’re gonna be kind of the joke of the league. Suspect Monty would be fired as well as some other changes if that happens as well. See how Cassidy, the ex bruins coach does in his game 7 vs Monty. The difference is that the Leafs were playing down to their competition. Now, the Bruins are being exposed for what they lack.

Woll is a pretty good goalie. Pastrnak has been getting pasted the whole series. Look at his face after the game, it's beat up. Players get worn down when they get targeted like that.
