      That's right! The pug-like face is given by their head and mandibles being much bigger for easier usurpation. She's evolutionarily designed to win

    Does their venom work on one another or are they too similar to have any sort of effect? Very excited to see the rest of the updates as they come along!

      When a wasp stings another wasp, death usually follows. The P.semenowi is evolutionarily adapted to this, it has close fit sternites that leave no vulnerable spots. Anyway, i don't believe any stings were delivered in this case, because even the P.dominula foundress that lost the fight looked fine afterwards, and I was able to release her.

    Amazing how P. semenowi seems to have a similar life cycle to V. squamosa.

      With a major difference: P.semenowi doesn't have a worker caste.
