Awesome review and breakdown! At the end of the day, shape and personal performance are key and like you say, the lightest and most up to date sensor might not give you that. I still love me MZ1 and Aerox 3 for personal performance
great review Fresh. Thats exactly how i feel about my grip style and preferences. That inner hand maneuverability is key. I also have big hands(19x10.5). i think i might just buy the wired one since i dont mind the wire and it's cheaper and lighter!
Thanks for this. I have always found Zowie mice have something about them no one else can replicate. I've ordered the ec3-cw based on your video. Keep up the great videos.
Glad I could help!
I have tried the Dav3 Pro, Dav3, Xlite V2 and V2 Mini, X2 and all of the more new popular mice out now. The EC3-CW is my first ever Zowie mouse. And it's now my new main mouse.
The weight isn't that bad and after a couple of days I was already used to it. The overall build quality is really nice, but the click feeling must be one of the best if not the best I've ever felt in a mouse before. The coating is grippy and lives up to it's reputation being an oil sponge. The charging-dock with built-in wireless receiver is just a blessing. Batterylife is really good and now I don't need to worry about having a free cable to charge it since I can just dock the mouse when not using it.
The only negative about the mouse is the price (stiff price in Europe - 200$+) and not being 100% I actually have the mouse set to the lowest click latency etc. I wish I had some sort of software to confirm my settings. This will be my new endgame! It has a really nice shape, ok weight and practical features. I actually don't feel the need to buy a new mouse right now, and I'm not sure if the new Pulsar Xlite V3 ES version will beat it personally. For a non-Zowie user for years I gotta say they got a solid mouse if you're willing to pay for it. Handsize: 20x11 cm.
did you try out the viper v2 pro and the vaxee xe?
@@ricosvault Yes, I've had 2 versions of the Viper, not the pro, but the shape wasn't for me. I was considering getting the Vaxee, but now I'm not so sure after the EC3-CW.
I hope there will be a mini version of the DAV3 in the future.
I've been thinking of going back to a wired mouse bc aoparently my lamzu atlantis mini is interfering with my wifi, and despite it supporting 5ghz, it somehow won't save even after changing the preferred band. Was thinking of the DAV3 but the reason why I moved on from the Model O is the long length which just does not fit my hand, and after seeing how the DAV3 is like the best wired mice, I NEED a DAV3 mini with the same greatness.
Yeah join the #wiredgang
Dav3 mini wired 8khz
Lamzu Thorn mini 4K
I will only buy wired mice. It's cheaper and with a good bungee I never notice the wire. Why pay more for wireless. I also hate batteries, they will eventually die on you.
Dude, just wanted to say, thank you for this video. Believe it or not I have the exact hand size and somewhat of a similar gripstyle as yours. I've tried many mice but couldn't get what I wanted which is stabilty and freedom at the same time. This seems like exactly what I want the way you described. Will definitely be picking this one up.
Also, mouse tier-list when? 👀
I heard that the upcoming Pulsar Xlite V3 will come with different size options, praying that the medium or small will be close to EC3 in terms of size and shape. I main the Xlite V2 but recently tried the EC3-C and just fell in love with how comfortable it was.
Yup, mee too! I tried a lot of mice but the EC3-C is just super comfy. Edit, I did do some mods on it though. I swapped the switches for Japanese Omrons and I removed the spring in the scroll wheel so it doesn't give those aggressive bumps, easier for work.
I have the ec3-c wired and i love it i would love to see zowie will have a feature of split button design and a high polling rate in their wired mice (c series)
For vaxee there will be an outset ax-s wired version and wireless version also a xe-s wired version and wireless version.
Are you going to review the vaxee oryza?
Would also love to see a dav3 mini wired 8khz
This has been my best as well, sold my viper mini SE after trying this out for a week.
I want to get it, Xlite mini is a bit to small stability is lacking but i gain HUGE mobility so it has pros and cons, Model D minus is still pretty big, It seems to have around the same amount of stability as bigger ergos though (like the Model D regular size) but you still don't gain that mobility you want. Maybe the ec3 will be the perfect inbetween. Little worried because ive tried 119 MM mice before and didn't really have the mobility i was looking for (And the model D minus is 120 MM) but every shape is different. Right now just chilling with my Model D wireless, it doesn't have alot of mobility, but where i am able to aim, i don't miss. And sensitivity can make up for that lack of mobility somewhat. We will see though, i also just want to try a zowie mouse lol. It is a little expensive though so idk.
Handsize?
Bro, I love your videos but I need more of them more often, please and thank you.
Hahahha. I’ll try my best
Been on the EC3 since its release, just picked up my second one recently to see if they made any new iterations (They did, improved the rubber housing on the cord to mouse attachment). It's an EC2 but better. People always diss on Zowie but they are still god tier. I always get a laugh when I tell them I still use Zowie, but I'm still at the top of the leaderboards laughing at them and their swiss cheese gimmicks.
Zowie is bae
lets gooo looks fire
aaaaayyyyyyy
Yeah I have that V3 PRO Faker edition and I just bought the Zowie EC3-CW I just feel like the razor is to long for me and harder to flick up and down with and I think the Zowie will give me more room to flick better. I cant wait to try the zowie even though its heavier but I always loves the Zowie ERGO shape.
nice review dude, so has this dethroned the vaxee xe as your best mouse?
I absolutely love my Ec2-cw.
I think I bought 20+ mice before I got my EC2-CW. Between the build quality, shape, and the ease of charging it regularly with the dock, I don't think I'll be buying another mouse for a long time. Also side note, pairing these mice with a glass pad is super fun.
What mousegrip do you use? I ordered it yesterday I cant whait. I have 19.5cm x 10 cm hands and I claw, do you think it will fit me?
replying so i hear answer to rnnbeatz. i have 19x10 and i claw
Hey if you can pls look into the kz pr2 iem. It's a planar iem for only 45. I wanted to know if they are good in your opinion
for someone with smaller hands than you, do you think upcoming xlite v3 mini would be worth it over the ec3cw?
try infinity mice sapphire skates on these and it's game over for your opponent and... the dock charging is game changing also.
Your main is EC3-CW, then a custom G303 (btw what changes to the original one?)and after this the Vaxee XE???
Thank you so much for your stuff!!!!!!!
For tracking that’s my order yea
ec2 was always my best performing mouse back in CS, superlight my go to for the last few years. freshy is not a weight and sensor shill spitting facts, shape is king.
@@heatnup6899 Bro i aimmed the best on a like 3360 or 3335 (whatever the OG glorious model D wired used) for the longest time, even agaisn't 3395 mice, even agaisn't 4k mice. Shape is king. Literally nothing else matters other then maybe a good coating even then not really (Anymore).
@@heatnup6899 still waiting for actual, tangible proof of sensors being compared to each other, and visually showing in game how a player benefits from it. Because literally I’ve put clips of playing with a GPX, DAV3, Lamzu next to each other and I could barely tell the difference on screen vs knowing the biggest difference was how the mouse felt in hand.
@@heatnup6899 Considering im the top 0.01% of every game i play and im extremely sensitive to any changes, and even i don't notice a difference between sensors? Yea. The only thing i notice is "motion sync", not the actual sensor itself. If you turn off motion sync it feels like any other sensor in the past 5+ years. I can notice 4 MS debounce compared to 0 Ms for instance. Trust me, it doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is Shape, And once you find your perfect shape, or even anything thats close to perfect you will understand how much shape matters. Btw, IDGAF what you choose to believe, fact is fact. Even if a sensor was 1%, 5%, even 10% better then another, If the shape isn't for you it won't matter. Thats a fact.
@@heatnup6899 overwatch top 100 consistently, valorant radiant 422 peek episode 4 (games shit), masters on apex even though i barely play, hit champion on siege, csgo faceit lvl 10 is next, You also understand even someone with no credentials can say basic things like a 5% difference when something is already so good doesn't matter?
Since you cant understand: A car is 5% faster then another car, but this car happens to have no steering wheel and the gas petals tire your feet out very quickly oh and theres no floor beneath your feet just the road and your shoes are constantly dragging on the road. Does that 5% really matter? Or would a car with a steering wheel in tune with you, normal gas petal thats comfortable, and has a floor beneath your feet be the much better option?
I mean you might not even understand since you probably arent even able to have a car yet. But if you are, I'd hope you are smart enough to understand something so basic.
@@WorldKeepsSpinnin agreed
You know what i decided to go back to trying again. Prime Wireless, and boy does that feel good. Just need that outset axw
There will be a outset ax-s wired too
I'm waiting for a wireless S2, but this has intrigued me very much. I Still main a OG g pro wireless non superlight and a baby blue og s2 lol.
which mousepad would you recommend as a good combo with this bro? just ordered the ec3-cw
Is there a link where we can check out your latest main at all time?
I also got my EC3-CW and it’s literally my best mouse already. It’s perfect for my hand size.
What’s your hand size, and how do you grip the mouse?
@@MattL4J I have 18x10 cm hands and do an aggressive claw
@@durtleturtle840 I’m slightly bigger than your hand size, like .25 to .5 higher in both measurements and i play relaxed claw and some weird kind of palm fingertip
how does the ec3 feel when you aren’t aggressive with the claw?
@@MattL4J it feels fine cause then I just fingertip it.
Thanks for the upload. Was on the fence on selling my Dav3 pro for the ec3-cw since my EC3-C fits my hand size (17x10) so much better than the Dav3. So I’ll likely be making the switch soon.
I wish Razer will make a dav3 mini wired 8khz
Interesting take. My hands are 21x12 and a I used to be a fan of EC1. But my question to you is: why ec3 and not ec2 or even ec1? That is my problem: which size to choose. have you tried the other sizes of EC? And what's your grip style?
I finger tip and hybrid palm the ec3. (Go back and forth) but I push the ec3 far up in my hand to have more room in the back to move
@@FreshReviewsYT I need to have a tight grip around mouse 4 while gaming while still having room to manoever up and down . Also, I use mouse3 a lot. Do you think ec2 would fit me better than ec3? (I currently have ec1-c as one of my mains but its too bult and a bit too heavy as I play Quake mostly)
I remember you saying that you really liked the Vaxee XE Wireless. You perform better with the EC3 and G303 over XE?
For tracking yea. I perform better on the xe for tac shooters over the g303. I perform better on the ec3 than both
Damn you got this mouse early, i'm still waiting for it to come to my house.
Do grips from EC3-C work on EC3-CW? They didnt change the shape or anything right?
Grips should work
What happened to your Vaxee XE Wireless? 3 Weeks ago you said its your main
Ergo for me are a sad big no (on kovack with the Dav3pro and the Xlite v2 my performance are memes)...btw the Juzear 41T in game are not great, indeed the Xsl x-one are insane (a bit too shady, but for comparison i think I pick them over the Hexa because the texture of that bass is really insane and musically speaking they are superior too, for me at least)
Hey Fresh, coming back with another Q 😅 How does the ec3 cw compare to the Pulsar Xlite v2 (or mini)? Is it a similar experience?
It’s an in between size of the two
I've got EC1-CW second hand unused for around 100 usd and I actually love it!
Compared to my DAV3 8K, I feel EC1 has more palm contact than DAV3. Despite the 8K polling rate, I don't feel much difference on that, or maybe because my hz is not high enough.
But I do agree about the price. Too expensive for the specs compared to other mice. I hope Zowie decreases the price a little bit and I think it's good to go.
Can't wait for Pulsar Xlite V3, hope they will fix the double click issue.
Same, didn’t like dav3 faker, the shape it’s horrible even my hand it’s big, glorious model d an xlite v2 has better shape than dav3 but zowie its a bit better
love your reviews. I think I played against you a few days ago on an olympus pub match. You freakin beam'd me!
Btw, I was wondering if I should apply the large skates to my lamzu atlantis mini, I've been playing with the corner ones since i got the mouse and I thought i would be thinking about pushing down on the pad or whatever, but I don't. I also have been playing pretty well, but I think it's more me than it is the mouse, as I've had it for about two months now. Since I'm on the Raiden Xsoft, would be benefit me more to use the large ones? Ive always tried looking online but can never find a clear answer.
I like the large ones personally.
@@FreshReviewsYT thanks! Always enjoy your input. Do you have any specific reason to why you enjoy the large ones? Or it is kinda just preference?
Have you seen the Hyperx Pulsefire Warp? weird release knowing the the Pulsefire Haste 2 also just dropped
I have. Looks pretty bizarre for a new launch!
Would you say that EC3C is a W?
Would you recommend this mouse for aggressive pincer claw? I’m so far down the gaming mouse rabbit hole I can’t breathe. Haven’t tired any ergos but I’ve felt the e3cw once but not played with.
Not sure. I don’t use that grip.
ive been lookiing aty this and ec2cw, but the weight for the price is what boggles my mind.
Mained GPX and DAV3 for 2 years and went to the EC2-CW. Weight doesnt bother me at all. You dont really notice weight unless its over 90 grams. 20 grams+- is not noticeable when you're playing unless you're constantly comparing 2 mice. I would say the price is absolutely worth it. The best quality mouse I've ever owned, charging dock is excellent. Love everything about it. Would recommend getting corepads for it tho as the stock skates are EXTREMELY slow if you have a control pad.
If it's under 80-90 grams it doesn't even matter. Quit obsessing over something that makes no difference. Shape is king and that's why Zowie still shreds the competition.
I actually prefer heavier mice. I took a leap of faith with the DAV3 pro and it just wasn’t for me. I was either over flicking or holding angles would be ruined over the smallest of movements. Great for Overwatch, but not good for literally everything else I play (CS, Val, R6, etc). Learning my lesson, I decided to give Zowie a shot with a EC1-C and I immediately noticed I had way more control when it came to aiming. Definitely considering the wireless EC1 because of it.
Between the EC2-CW and DAV3 what would you prefer for tac shooters? I got 19.5 x 9 cm hands
The dav3 is just too large for me. I lose too much movement imo
17x8.5 hands size, would the EC3-CW be good for claw/relaxed claw for me?
Possibly
Would you upgrade from a wired ec3-c?
I cannot figure out if I should get the ec2 or ec3. I’ve always been sold on the lighter is better and I’m starting to see that comfort trumps all.
I like both. I liked the ec3 more
how does it compare to the ec2cw?
Do you think this mouse still worth it now? I have the EC3-C and I really like the shape, but I'm seeing rumors abou the new DAV3 Hyperpeed that might be a better choice.
Dav 3 hyper speed is like a ec2.5 looks like a great mouse
Good job boss! Honest opinions are appreciated and if peeps don't understand that it's an opinion....welllllll. WOOF! 😔
😍
when you're "almost" fingertip-gripping the EC3-CW, why not go full fingertip with a mouse designed for it? I know ergos can be fingertip-gripped as I do this with my M4 wireless, but the reduced weight should be another boost.
Because I actually still utilize a hybrid grip where I get full use of the ergo flairs when digging down for stability
I also like the Hand feel of the ec3. My hand ist 18x10cm. What kills the shape for me is, that the thumb side isn’t adjusted to the length. Because they added more width in the back, the slope is more aggressive compared to the ec2. My thumb is a little shorter then average, so the shape feels off to me. So in general i like the idea behind the ec3, but the ec2 works better for me
Good to know. I have roughly the same hand size as you (18.5 instead of 18 though), and was thinking the EC1 might be better. But at this point I've gotten used to the EC3 so don't know if I'll bother swapping.
i see that aj199 in the background. when are you gonna make a review on that?
Soon for sureb
didnt realise it was u at first with the new pfp
Loving my EC1-C looking forward to getting the wireless
Would you recommend it for M/L hands and claw grip?
You could claw it, but I do not so it is hard for me to say how it would feel for you.
@@FreshReviewsYT Alright, ty for the answer!
I am honestly considering a Zowie mouse instead of the DAV3 and even paying more because I hate Synapse so much and it creates so many problems.
Synapse gives me indigestion
I wish razer will make a omm just like logitech
I spot the kiwi ears quartet
I’m stuck between my vaxee xe and my ec3 -w I used the ec3 and my pointer precision is way better but my vaxee xe I’m way more snappy but sometimes I don’t feel comfortable with it like I do with the ec3 I’m a vaxee fan boy lol but zowie did there thing when it comes to this mouse
I’m definitely playing better on the ec3, but I still love my xe
im waiting on the lamzu Maya and pwnage stormbreaker to make my end game mouse!!! maya gonna have 4k so thats what im waiting for and the lamzu atlantis mini 4k
It's all finally coming together mini 4khz lamzu
I thought the mouse might be a problem, but my biggest problem aiming is finding a smooth mousepad that lasts at least a couple of months before getting sticky. Every mousepad ive tried, no matter the amount of friction, is perfect for microadjustments when out of the box, I feel like a pro gamer tracking and flicking. Two weeks later, sometimes even just one week later, they turn into crap. And no, washing them does not fix them. Do I just have to learn to aim with a sticky mousepad? The best combination ive tried so far is the LGG Mercury, and the cheap Hyperslides mousefeet on Amazon. Yes, believe it or not, I aim better with those Hyperslides than with Corepads, Tiger Ice, or Hotlines.
Well, I've tried tons of mousepads. If your budget is high, go with Artisan brand. If your budget is limited, go with the XrayPad brand. Both are humidity resistant and non-coated which is the main factor to durability and consistency. You just now need to choose which models you want, there are plenty from slow ones to really fast ones in both brands. I personally owe 4 artisans now (Zero, Hien, Hayate Otsu and Raiden) and two Xray Pads. Are are phenomenal. Its the end game for me.
Get the equate plus v2
@@FreshReviewsYT Yea, its amazing, I just got it
Can anybody compared the EC3 to the Steelseries Prime Mini Wireless?
Can you make a video or a list of microphones?
I haven’t tested many tbh. The wave 3 is nice and I like the blue sona which I use now
Where did you get the grey g303?
Nacho customz
The Razer feel chep
is this the small or medium size?
It’s the ec3
I just ordered EC2-CW I am just not sure EC2 or EC3 is closer to the initial EC2-A. The shape of Zowie is just perfect. I used Logi superlight for the past 1.5 years and just found my old EC2a, even now with cord and heavyness I aim better with zowie.
As far as I know they haven’t changed the dimensions, so the EC2-A should be the same as the EC2-CW.
@@Dew4lk hmmm... I looked at pics online and it looks like the length of ec2a is 120mm compared to ec2 cw 123mm. I will try it and see if it actually makes a difference, I am sure they'll exchange if anything.
@@buzzikea it’s because they changed how they measure the dimensions it’s the same shell same size
@@olsaaan oh, good to know, thanks.
Yep. Same shell!
The EC3 for me was very comfortable to put my hand on, but to use it in game it felt very awkward. Could not really grip it in any other way than just palming it flat. I'm not sure what exactly they changed from the EC2, but the EC2 is raised in the lower left corner that makes me lock in the grip which they seem to have removed with the EC3. The only other way I could grip the EC3 was with my fingertips very far up on the mouse, and here it didn't give any stability anywhere else. So it was like fingertipping a really back-heavy mouse, which felt off.
17.5 by 8.5cm hands btw.
8.5cm with thumb included?
@@paulmartinez34 Without.
If with thumb included?
@@paulmartinez34 About 10cm. But it's a weird way to measure IMO. I can get less or more depending on where I measure and also if I press my thumb towards my palm or kinda "stretch" it out.
But just because the mouse didn't work for me with those dimensions doesn't necessarily mean you won't like it. So don't only go on measurements.
Pretty damn cool that after all these mice, the ones you main are still 70+g weight!
Haha yea that’s true
Why is that cool?
@@Terra101 That the hype in this community has been (for a long time) ultra-light weight mice. Fresh has tried many of these but yet he chooses two +70g mice as his main rotation. Going against trends to use what you feel is right is pretty damn cool imo. This goes to show that shape (+ quality) is KING,
@@lnbabz Who says to use what you don't feel is right? If as you say, you should use what actually feels right, why can't people who think light-weight mice feels right use them if it feels right for them?
First you say shape + quality = king. Then you say you should go against the hype and use what feels right to you? What if shape + quality (whatever that means) doesn't feel right for me? In other words, that's not my first 2 priorities.
The real "hype" is people trying to go against trends because that's trendy. It's just the same but reversed. Just let people use exactly what they think is right and stop this "shape is king" mantra. For me, sensor position and weight is king. (not light weight btw, right weight) Also, the right weight differs depending on the mouse shape. Same with sensor pos somewhat.
But I can't have these opinions, because it's trendy to think "shape is king". I have had several of these discussions in the MouseReview sub-reddit. It's forbidden to think otherwise, to have another view than "Shape is king". Which is kinda ironic.
When someone thinks a light mouse is perfect for them, no one says: OMG he uses a light mouse, I TOLD YOU LIGHT MICE ARE KING. But as fast as someone says a mouse is good, and at the same time it happens to be a little bit heavier than the norm, everyone are right at it. "OMG SHAPE IS KING WE TOLD YOU SO!" And suddenly it's all about preference, because no one can prefer light weight mice!
If you truly think people should use exactly what they are comfortable with and what they prefer, you wouldn't tell people what attributes are most important in a mouse. But that's not what this is about, this is about telling people that they should think like you think, because that's what you prefer and that is the right thing to prefer.
This is your best over the Vaxee now?
Yea 😓
