      You bet! I am extremely happy with your products and I will be doing more with your other parts down the road, so get your welder and machine shop ready!! :)

    Andy, you mentioned yer not sponsored by Maier, and your just like the rest of us... So I had read some posts from customers, about the support they received from Mike Maier himself, with install/adjustment issues on some of his other parts. It's part of why I had gone with Maiers sub frame connectors, and now I'm installing his Panhard rod kit, like yours on my 65 F/B. I had a fitment question, due to irregularities in my majorly reconstructed body. He was off, and out racing their cars at an event, though he still found time to call me, and ask about my issue, and explained the basic theory behind how the bar works. He spent like 40 mins with me.. Great service, great guy as well !!! Couldn't be happier.. keep at it Andy...
    PS, I'm not a paid spokesperson either !!!

      Correct, not sponsored by Mike, and I paid full price for these parts just like everyone else. But I'm good with that, I like his parts and I like his service. I too was able to talk with Mike on the phone (roughly 75 mins) and he's so down to earth and willing to share all his knowledge to help a nobody like me. I'm not racing my car right now, but I may dip my toes in future, but I want my car to be built towards that direction. He walked me through the various mods I have and how to set them up. He also explained the advantages with other parts and helped me put together a path to follow. Not everything will come from Mike, and he was happy to point in the direction I needed to be in despite not selling those parts. He's a good person, knows his stuff, and makes a quality part, so that's a win in my book.
      On a side note, the Panhard bar I have on my car is from Maier Racing, which is owned by Charles Maier, which is Mike's brother. I purchased that bar from Maier Racing because I like the design a little better, but it provides no performance advantage over Mike's bar. Either bar would be a fantastic upgrade to anyone's classic Mustang, and if I were to buy another Mustang, that Panhard Bar is near the top of the list of parts I'd do first.
      Edit: had to put Mike's brother's correct name in, not the wrong name. :)

    If not already, you should join your local SCCA and solo race. It would take full advantage of the Maier parts, give you a chance to really lean into the car's capabilities, and make for some good content watching you progress while tuning the car.

    Nice! I've been waiting to see your post-install review.
    So with these arms (and the other similar ones on the market) do you re-use some or all of the factory shims? I assume with the manufacturing variations inherent in the shock towers (and 57+ years of driving twisting and vibration) they're not going to all be the same.

    • @AndyKruseChannel
      @AndyKruseChannel  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Yes, you'd reuse the shims that were on the UCAs you just pulled off the car. Getting an alignment after this install will sort out any issues. In my setup (because of the specs I wanted from my alignment) there weren't hardly any shims in when it was all done.

    Hi Andy... thx for the vid....good to hear your feedback on the control arms. I know you have coilovers....was looking through your library and couldn't find a vid of the install. Which coilovers did you choose? What do you think of them?

    • @AndyKruseChannel
      @AndyKruseChannel  Před 10 měsíci

      I went with QA1 double adjustable coilovers in the front, and I also went with their double adjustable shocks in the rear. :)

  • @GigemGarage

    Andy did you determine if you would have had to roll the fenders? Have you considered going with 18 inch wheels with 8 inch width? If not why not?

    • @AndyKruseChannel
      @AndyKruseChannel  Před 10 měsíci

      Yes, fenders had to be rolled (I did that a few years ago). But needing to roll the fenders is a product of the tire size, the wheel backspacing, and if the car has been lowered. In my case, I needed to roll the fenders, but it is not required for the Upper and Lower Control Arms I installed for this video.
      For the 18s, I haven't decided if that's for me or not. I've seen some cars that look great, and lots of cars that don't (with 18s). If I changed my wheels, I'd likely go back down to 15s with a little more tire, I think it would look better. But it's subjective. :)

  • @ML-dl1cp
    @ML-dl1cp Před 10 měsíci

    Second question! Since you're not sponsored by any of these manufacturers, what made you choose the Meier arms over, say Street & Track, Open Tracker, or Global West?

    • @AndyKruseChannel
      @AndyKruseChannel  Před 10 měsíci +1

      I believe in Mike Maier first. Plus, Mike's UCAs have the most features built in where the other brands have some or none. I plan to buy more of Mike's parts as I continue to build this car. I'd love to work a deal with them, but even if that doesn't happen, I'm still buying his parts. :)

    Just have to spread that boot out a little or take a screw driver and fix the boot or it might spread out when you lube it afterwards the grease will push the boot the just wipe of the excess grease the fastback is looking beautiful 😍 🚗🔧🐎💪🇺🇸🙌

      @@AndyKruseChannelHey Andy, could you make a follow up video or short about this? I’m having a very similar problem with steering linkage parts too. Kinda stumped as I thought I needed to replace these parts until I just watched this video and heard you had the same sort of issue!

    • @AndyKruseChannel
      @AndyKruseChannel  Před 10 měsíci

      @@67ksb If the boot of the ball joint(s) is damaged or not covering the ball joint correctly, you could be allowing contaminants into joint and causing premature wear. If you just have older parts and everything seems clunky, then you're probably on the right page thinking it may need to be replaced. :)

    Hi Andy, I'm guessing you have power steering. That amount of caster would be way too heavy to steer if you didn't.

    • @AndyKruseChannel
      @AndyKruseChannel  Před 10 měsíci

      Nope, manual steering. Not sure what you mean by being too much for manual, the car goes back to center more easily with more caster.

    • @jaygribbin6790
      @jaygribbin6790 Před 10 měsíci
