    We sang this song as children in the school playground in the 1950s, but I'm pretty sure we sang "Derry City" instead of "Belfast City" - from ancient rivalries.

    She had her reasons, Sean Gallagher and if you learned about Irish history you'd be less judgmental. You'd also know that their current struggles are less about religion and more about politics.
    The Church helped keep the Irish dirt poor for centuries. They didn't do it on their own, but they definitely helped with their demand for infinite baby making and ban on ANY form of birth control, including the rhythm method.

    I prefer joyful versions of this song. But I guess Sinead does not do joyful.
