- Kmart (Slated To Close) - Buffalo, NY. It was announced in late August that this last store in the Buffalo area would close by year's end. When I filmed this in early August, this was not the case and it was just another day as usual here. But now, the end is coming, unfortunately.

This was my Kmart growing up. My mom paraded us in this location regularly when there was an Olan Mills portrait studio inside. I visited last week and it was surreal. So many memories. RIP North Buffalo Kmart

I miss my Kmart dang it , that one is built just like ours was on the outside. This ones layout is different then ours was though inside.
K-Marts had the best employees ever! It's just a shame it was run by the biggest jerk in the business world.

For some reason, those really big Air diffusers used to scare me, and every time I would go into a Kmart, I would do my best not to walk under one. I don't know what I thought that it would do to me, but that is what I did.
Those big round ones always scared me as a kid in the 80's. Into the 90's they changed the style so it was more rectangular, blended in and less menacing.
I hope my Kmart doesn’t close, need to make a visit.

Thank you so much. It is sad now knowing this one is closing. At the time I filmed it, it wasnt supposed to and it was nice to just go shop here and film knowing it was business as usual here. Now knowing its closing, it breaks my heart.

I heard on the local radio station here in Indiana a couple of days ago that the 5 remaining Kmart stores located through out the state in Indiana will all close before the end of this year !

Man I miss this Kmart. I always remember that hvac having werid noises since 2010-2012. Don’t remember exactly when.

It's sad that Kmart will soon be gone forever pretty much every where. My local Kmart has been around since I have (1966) and it is on the list of closings as well. I noticed when I was looking at pillows, the selection was very limited and it didn't seem organized in that area of the store. It almost seemed like there hasn't been any new stock in a while. Though Kmart does not seem very busy anymore, it still seems to have consistent business. It will be a sad day when it closes.
I finally got the opportunity to get to an open Kmart last weekend, and it was astonishing to see in person just how small the department was. Really quite sad that Kmart it's in the state of being which it's in.
On a brighter note, it was quite a nice Kmart! Also... "Kayla trying not to get into the shot in 3.... 2.... 1...." LMAO XD. A couple of my relatives actually have those squeelly pigs for their dogs.
If you ever come to Northwest Indiana, there's a closing Sears and Kmart. We also have a closed Lowe's, Hhgregg, Toys R Us, and a few closed Kmart's.

Hey Wallie great video 👍 if your ever near the Chippewa pa area there is is a restraunt named fire mountain it closed I believe 4 years ago and the building could open tomorrow it’s in that good condition I don’t know if you can get in it but you can see inside it. And there’s another location named the bird bath which was a car was that closed 5 or 6 years ago.
I love this Kmart it plays the 80s music my favorite.

The kmart in west view was in a strip mall that used to be an amusement park, Google (west view park) , their is also an Isalys restaurant, yes same as the chipped ham right up the street.
You should come to the K-Mart on Yorktown Heights (Westchester County), New York before it closes forever.
Hi Wallie, I wanna just say, I'm honestly contemplating driving all the way out to the Buffalo area from Albany to get the last few days sales... I went to my local Rotterdam, NY store inside my dead mall last year when it shut down and got clothes for like 50 cents and a dollar an item!

Here's an update on Oswego County Court Kmart and has been added on to the Cayuga Community College and they are working on adding classrooms in it so there's any future and learning at that Kmart laughing out loud it's nice to see that that Kmart will be an educational center for the people that live in Oswego County New York

Funny the first two songs that needed to be silenced are by groups I love TLC and Blondie (which like Kayla I love to dance to and sing to... badly.)
The facade looks like my KMart in Jersey City which closed over a year ago. That meant shoppers have to go to Bayonne to a smaller but manageable WalMart without the wierd People of WalMart there.
I love this song call me it was on bride of chucky and that was great.

@@TheCarlkani yup i used to go to that one alot when i lived in newkensington me step mom Vickie worked at the newkensington one fun fact they were going to close that one during the 2002-2003 bankruptcy Vickie told me but the court decided to keep that one open longer, My step mom stopped working at the newkensington one in 2006 because she was worried it was going to closed she only worked there for 7 1/2 years , from 1999-2006
@@TheCarlkani also the Kmarts i frequented alot were the one you worked at, the one on Macyltre Square whatever is called after it moved from next to where the old school Kroger was, and i would go to the ones in Greentree, and Shaler and the one in Newkensington that one was 3 mins from my house,
@@TheCarlkani and sadly i never got to go to the ones in Pleasant hills by Kennywood, umm And the other ones in the Pittsburgh area locations also i moved a few months after the Super Kmart closed in Robinson township which is now Demolished and yes i went to that one to sadly i also didn't get to go to Bridgeville, Mcmurray, and a couple of others in the area,
There was a Kmart on Military Road ( near the I-190 on ramp )in Niagara Falls, NY that closed spring 2019 I believe . I don't think this is the one you are at in this video . Could not compete with the new Walmart down the road .

Most of them seem outdated to me. Fresh ideas and a remodel or new building or business is probably the way to go.

Niagara Falls Kmart as closed a couple months ago and is surrounded by a fence from the fox fencing company of Buffalo New York they do not want anybody on the property or cutting through traffic to get to the other side of the road will post pictures when I could figure out how to do it later you think they would have got that store opened do the Canadian Shoppers and close the Buffalo store I'm going to miss Kmart I grew up at all five of them and Syracuse New York and putting Washington lights not Dro New York Green Hills Plaza Mattydale Plaza which is one of the last Kmarts remaining and the Syracuse New York area and of course the one in Liverpool on Route 57 and the one on Erie Boulevard East in DeWitt New York and also the one in Western Lights Shopping Plaza on Onondaga Boulevard I so sad to see familiar memories of yesteryear go away

There's lots online about Kmart and all the stupid decisions made that led to this point. They went the route of Ames and bought Waldenbooks, OfficeMax, and other stores in an attempt to modernize their brand. Too bad that didn't include updating stores, lowering prices, and trying to appeal to customers who would show up to dirty, crowded stores and refuse to return. Sears also shot themselves in the foot by ridding themselves of their catalog merchandise. Why get rid of the catalogs? That was the best part of shopping at Sears. Ole Eddie Lampert was supposed to save the stores not put them six-feet under. He made lots of bad decisions. Management would have to compete with each other and created a hostile workplace. He drained what capital Sears had left, and they didn't have much to begin with. Whoever decided a hedge fund mogul would be their savior received a cruel surprise. Kmart also cut ties with Martha Stewart because she wanted too much money. It might have been worth it. Just saying.

What I did was upload the video to CZcams and then when it gave me copyright notices, I just edited the video through youtube to mute the audio where the copyright claim picked up the overhead music. So there are a few spots where its muted. I just hate muting the audio for my videos like this because, to me, it takes away from the natural setting. Sometimes I like to add my own music or try to make it a little more cinematic or whatever youd call it. But, I tend to like the raw format I've been known for for my videos. Present the places I explore the way I see them.
