- Return To The Now Abandoned Moon Township Kmart. This was filmed in mid February but only had the opportunity to upload this video now. I have been near the Kmart in the past couple of weeks and nothing has changed as of yet.

The way you documented this store made me feel like it was a Kmart that I grew up shopping at, and continued to do so into adulthood... despite the fact I’ve never been in that store. Such a wonderful documentation!
5:05 Gotta love it when some random person comes walking by while you're filming while it looks like you're talking to yourself. I know how that feels as I had that happen to me several times already. It's both uncomfortable and awkward. LOL
There was once over 2,000 Kmart stores nationwide. After the next round closes, they'll be less than 400. It's a shame Eddie has been allowed to kill both Kmart and Sears...
So, so sad. My local KMART is going out of business also. Thanks for the updates.
great look and the fallen kmart. enjoyed the look back at previous videos. Keep up the great work
Good morning, Wallie! Good to see the place again. Can't wait to see it in person in just a few short days. I'll be messaging you in the next day or so to chat about meeting times/places, etc. Starting to firm up plans now that it's getting so close! This is really exciting :)
It is sad to see it like this I have been watching all of the updates
I had a lot of good memories at this store. This video makes me really sad
Our old Kmart looked exactly like this building but it had a Michael Crafts on the end which closed around 1999. Then Kmart closed around 2006. Now the whole building is a high school/college prep building but they renovated everything top to bottom updated everything very nicely with new paint, a lot more open windows/glass in the front, new open ceilings with all new lighting. Very impressive and other open Kmart's should follow that design. What would you turn your abandon Kmart into?
Shwalker07 This means big money for Demolition and Excavation crews.
Enjoyed the video.. Thank you Wallie!
So good to see you😀I did fall for your april fools🙈🙈🙈so glad you stay😁Happy easter from Germany, Andrea😊
i miss this kmart so much, this place is in my home town and have been comming for many years, sad to see it gone.
I love how PAT Park & Rides always pop up in abandoned store parking lots
At 10:45 is that an old style Kmart labelscar behind the first Craftsman scar? It looks like the old styled 'K' is quite visible there
BrandHistoryUSA oh man, you're right! I never noticed that before! That IS the old K logo!
Wasn't Craftsman an official K-Mart brand at one point?
Tarantulisimo I thought that was always Sears until it was sold to Stanley. Kmart just had it because Sears and Kmart merged
I grew up in Moon Township. Many memories dating back to 1977. Moved away in 85 and returned in 2005. KMart was still in operation. But as soon as Wally World moved in, we all knew that KMart's days in Moon were numbered. I still miss the old store. It was rarely crowded except around Christmas time, even before Wally World moved in. It would be so cool if Rural King decided to take up residence here!
I really really miss the Super-Duper K-Mart that was several hills over on the Robinson/Moon border
Keep up the great job on the videos
Before levin it was a shop n save. My sister worked there.
WallieB26 for President
One of the old Super K's was coverted into a Car dealer. Maple Heights, OH store closed in 2003. And Liberty Ford moved into the building the same year.
flying out from california to look at buying a cosmetic fixer upper house on a budget, was harder than i thought it would be, i flew out here 3 times in 2012 for for about 10 days each, looking for a house, staying down the road from this kmart at la quinta inn on university and going here alot for snacks and drinks, it is sad they closed. I always think about all the people's job affected by this closing workers, truckers, janitors, people that make the stuff
Ha! I know the answer. The far left-hand part of the dead K-Mart was a Shop N’ Save (yep!) and was the main grocery store for Moon until the new Kroger was built at the opposite end of the shopping center in 1982 (where that other grocery sits). The arrival of Kroger killed off the Shop N’ Save which soldiered on until about 1985. It was old and cramped by comparison and couldn’t compete with the much larger and better financed Kroger.
You are my biggest number 1 Fan 😂
What a great postscript video to this Kmart. You put a lot of heart into these videos. The best touch was the "memories" video segment with the grainey video compositon, all the fun memories of being there and making me laugh.u
Wonder if Fast Eddie painted the graffitti. That is not art, that's garbage.
Keep those videos coming, and you stay awesome too bud
Entertaining video. Thanks.
I'd like to see it become a Lowe's or Home Depot, usually where ever there's a walmart, you can find a home improvement store nearby.
That would be cool, but that K-Mart looks too small to become a Lowe’s or Home Depot. Perhaps it could become a Safeway or Albertsons or a Fred Meyer (Fred Meyer is a Kroger company, I don’t know what it’s called over there)
@@Nathan-xt6gz Fred Meyer only operates in Idaho, Oregon, Washington, and Alaska. Kroger used to be all over western PA until the early '80s but pulled out. I don't know if they ever will return to that market, but if they do they probably would use the flagship brand and not something the bought up.
Albertsons and Safeway only operate under those banners in certain regions, too. Pittsburgh is too far north and east for the Albertson brand. Safeway for the most part only operates west of the Mississippi, except for stores in Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and Washington, D.C. (I can't explain the Delaware locations; the VA/MD/DC locations for the most part are in the D.C. metropolitan area, which still begs the question of why the isolated pocket in the east?)
Hey Willie! There is a Kmart open in Erie and 1st
Good video :)
wallie theres a old kmart still open from the 1970s in my hometown Greenvile,SC and it stills has the old logo and outdated building structure. also its in a shopping plaza with a bilo
Mr. Mannequin sure appreciated this
One Super K-Mart that was across from my bus stop closed and is now a Wal-Mart 🤨
My K-Mart is closed. So I go to Wel-mart. 😆
Strange cuz down here in north carolina, there are still a few working kmarts although some closed!
I enjoyed watching all of your videos here dude I miss this place even though I’m from Ohio man
nathan crawford where in Ohio?
Pretty awesome that you went back to the now abandoned Moon Township Kmart where you got your Music & Video sign and your mannequin friend but I didn't even know there was a space that used to be a furniture store that Kmart probably used for storage and backup. I watch this video because I love your video on Kmart, Ames, etc. I really hate that graffiti that somebody left after Moon Township Kmart closed, that is disrespectful to the building and urban explorers to see that awful graffiti on Moon Township abandoned Kmart's wall.
Hey Pittsburgh (Monroeville especially) survived the 2008 recession the best though only 3 towns in america PROSPERED then a Kentucky town and like Texas place the other was here
I was there in 2017. It was still open at that time.
There is an abandoned Seafood Restaurant in Lebanon Pa that you should check out. It has been abandoned since I was a little kid back in the early 90s.
HI WALLIE AS U SAID "I AM SUCH A LOOSXX""GLADE U DID NOT QUIT..SEE U LATER BUDDY...RON AND VERO
Kmart did have a kmart foods concept that was attached to may stores in the 1960s, It was usually was a seperate grocery store branded as kmart, The concept only lasted to the mid 70s and many food stores became other things, Somethimes even kmart expanded into the space. All the kmarts near me have closed sadly and they are slowly being turned into other things.
look at the front, where it says Kmart real big, lol
I miss this I used to live in Colony West Apartments for 12 years. I lived in 1207, 1306, 1311 401. I used to get my scripts here and buy alloy here and they Doubled Coupons up to 1.00 as well. This is what happened when you let Shitmart move in.
i think that was a smaller Levin Outlet store on the left of the K-Mart
Aldi's and a Dollar Tree are moving in. About 50% complete as of today!
just FYI if you ever stay in a hotel for more than a week, ask for the weekly rate, you will save about 20%, maybe more
The Kmart on Route 30 in North Versailles recently started it's store closing sale. The store is scheduled to close on January 31, 2019. I thought that you might like to track the closing process for the North Versailles store as you have done with other locations.
I love the videos
Come down to moon town and experience the kmart with the special nope fitting rooms
You should come check out the abandoned mall here in Wilson NC we’ve got a whole bunch of abandoned places and there’s an abandoned Kmart out this way too
Goodvideo
Nice vid wallie you should head to the Bridgeville Kmart or the Kmart in Niles Ohio again
Was Jonas from channel boogaloo was the manger at moon township Kmart when it was opened
A bailer and a compactor are two different things a bailer is only for crushing cardboard so you can tie it into bails and the compactor is only for trash
The abandoned super kmart in my hometwon is turning into a dave and busters
That's so sad when they leave furniture and stuff outside, because it could get donated to the Salvation Army and someone else who's less fortunate could really use it. And the outside of the store is NOT a junkyard!
Levin Furniture closed here in March 2005 I believe Wally
100th Sad seeing it rotting away
The last one that you forgot was Kenmore.
My nearby Kmart was burned down by the Cali fires.
i live right by that. RMU wants to buy the land to add more buildings

Sad video, btw I just uploaded two new abandoned places, I think you’ll like the latest one
Why they dump the furniture There they trying to support that business. That furniture store Kmart's had used to have in the store store. LOL
If Big K was had a grocery it not having wall off Big K.
I explored a kmart on my cha n nel that is abandoned and a cop made me leave
You got Jonus, from channel boogaloo, in this vid. Right on!
Check out "channel boogaloo", search it on you tube, those guys are good!
7:05 , strike that pose wallie! ;-)
What I'd like to know is who pays the electric bill?? I find it weird it's like this video that (Dan bell) has about an old Ames store... The company is no longer around yet the building still has electric!! It's like the electric company doesn't care or forgot about it!!
Bet the graffiti is from a late night Bobby Moe adventure.
Koons was a Kroger
I like Chuck E Cheese stuff like you like Kmart stuff.
There's a reason why Buildings get boarded up or torn down to prevent Crime and Vandals feel bad for someone like you me and others like to explore.
