- Abandoned Kmart - Middleburg Heights, OH. This is another fine example of a once strong retailer that was left to fall apart and collapse due to the ignorance and greed of the company's ceo. This particular Kmart closed in late 2018/early 2019. Since then only a portion of the store has been repurposed while the rest just sits currently with nothing happening to it. There is talk to get new tenants in the building in the near future, however.

There was a lady who almost made 50 years at this store before it closed she was an original hire at this kmart since it first opened the city of Middleburg heights gave her a certificate for all of the years of service she did at this Kmart along with other workers who had many years here

There used to be a kmart near me, it closed down, and It changed to a different store, The last time I've been in kmart was when everything in the inside was almost empty, and also there is a burger king near the store, the burger king is still open.
I went to the Kmart in my hometown when it was closing and it was bare and empty now half of it is now big lots

Hey, I really enjoy your videos! I wanted to give you a heads-up that there are 3 abandoned Kmarts in a relatively close area if you're ever in New England. Tewksbury, MA (Big K., closed for a long time now, a very early closure), Billerica, MA (original 1975 store closed late last year) and Salem, NH (closed last year, used briefly in the fall as "Spirit of Halloween.") Thanks for the great content! You do a great job.

Love you guys! Not too far from where I grew up...Cleveland, Ohio! Living in Lakeland, Florida now...they bulldozed the one here that became Sears Essentials, the reverted to KMart...and razed over and became another mini-plaza thing in 2020.

I miss Kmart here in kalispell montana we used to shop there all the time when we would come down to do some snowboarding from canada. Kmart left Canada in 1998 yup you guessed it Walfart made them go under here too.
There's an abandon K Mart here, about a half mile down the road. It closed in 2017. Amazon bought it, and is spending 20 million on renovations to make it a distribution center.

Just letting you know that fin feather fur outfitters has been a separate store from that Kmart for years. Multiple stores called it home before fin feathers did. I remember two of the old stores one of them was a guitar store and the other one a dollar store
Was originally guessing a grocery store next to the Kmart. As most old kmarts and retail stores back in the 60s and 70s had grocery stores next door to them. It was also a dollar paradise for awhile then that fin fur place it is now!
That Kmart sign by the street probably has the original Kmart logo (before “Big”) on it under the Big K sign and the sign for Leewards (a craft store) under the plate for Fin Feather Fur, since that was the original tenant on that space. That other smaller sign was probably a later replacement. They’re close to the street because of the city ordinance against tall signs.

My now wife and I both met and worked here in high school from 2006-2008. Fin Feather Fur has been there since mid/late 2000’s. Closed In January 2019.
That fin feather fur was a dollar store and I think a furniture store before that
That was part of Kmarts undoing! Never totally updating their stores and this is a prime example of half assed attempt with half newer logo and old 80s Big Kmart logo circa 1985ish to 90s
2024, the Cleveland Clinic occupies the Kmart site now. Fin ,Fur, Feather is still there also.

Hey Wallie! My local Kmart closed back in 2017-2018. It was originally a big Kmart that was downsized/degraded to a regular Kmart in the 00’s. I remember instead of building like a temporary wall to block off the grocery area, they just had a big black tarp going from the front to the back of the store. It was so janky, I laughed every time I took a visit by it. But the sad part is they just left the abandoned grocery part to just rot and wither away. I remember going right at the start of the liquidation sale and peeking behind the tarp seeing it so broken down and just pitiful. The rest of the store wasn’t much better, there was water damage in the ceiling all over the store, like most of the stores the shelves were in disarray, the lights were constantly flickering, garden center was rotting, layaway looked like the closed off portion of the store, it was just completely pitiful and pathetic honestly. It’s such a shame that the store went into that bad of shape over so many years. After the store closed it was disgraced by being remodeled into a Hobby Lobby of all things.

Wow! so many abandoned Kmarts from watching your videos as here in Australia they are everwhere but the only sad thing is they are not like they use to be they do sell cheap stuff and i buy stuff from them as i was only at one yesterday but yeah it is sad seeing your memories of these places close down as i feel that when i go around my area and no matter what they put in its place its never the same but really enjoying your videos and hope one day to get to the states and check out some awesome places before they close them down and thanks for the laughs as i love your sense of humour in your videos takecare

It make me think, given the store to the left having the same design both the front and the concrete blocks in the back, it could have been a K Foods many years ago.

I honestly don't have too many memories at Kmart despite going there a lot. I can only remember that the A/C was always on full blast at my childhood store and those circle vents would blow a few light things around if they got put under them. My only actual memory was during liquidation when there was police tape everywhere and missing shelves (I don't remember closing signs anywhere) but I didn't realize it was closing down.

If you do make it to Florida, you may want to hit up the Florida Mall in Orlando - Prior to the pandemic, it was (and may still be) a very busy mall. So busy, in fact, that Eddie hasn't managed to run the Sears into the ground, at least not yet.

I filmed both of them. Ones turning into target and ones turning into Harris teeter. Western closed December 31 2018 and Six Forks closed February 9 2020
