50MM Cannon Battlefield 2042 (LATV Recon)

- The description for the 50mm cannon says it gives "decent armor penetration" however I'm not sure that is accurate since it doesn't seem to really penetrate but instead do damage to vehicles. Unless it's classified as the same penetration as AP rounds for infantry weapons which just means it keeps its damage through windows and if it's not a window it does damage to the vehicle.
All of this was recorded prior to the science and discovery of the bugs/glitches/exploits shown in the previous video. Also keep in mind we were blasted out with explosive damage from vehicles or rockets and failed more often than we succeeded. Poor LATV loses control or traction the second an explosive goes off nearby, it has no mass to it and gets disabled with the slightest bump. I hope it gets a buff to handling and physics.

Hey Rav - what're your thoughts on the huge update coming next week? Do you think the bug fixes will be enough to make the game stable and enjoyable, or is it still going to be a bit of a slog to play? Also, fantastic content. Keep it up :)
I think it will, hopefully the game will be in a much much better state, if so i dont see anything wrong it just up to the community weather they think its ok or not ,il play if the game is running better than before 😃
Will most likely still suck but i will still play and put up with bugs like a true soldier the one bothering me the most is the cant aim after u jump out of a vehicle

From the sounds of it there will be quite a few quality of life improvements coming along with all those fixes so for some the game will likely feel better. However so far I haven't seen or heard anything in the next update regarding performance so that might still be a deal breaker or problem for some players using older hardware. For me the game was already stable and enjoyable or I found my own ways to enjoy the game like any Battlefield game. The only crashing I got ( outside of two DirectX errors ) was from the game breaking my CPU's overclock and that is a me problem and not the game's fault. I doubt there will be significant changes to Specialists or gadgets in the update that will make the game feel more Battlefield-like. I have my concerns about the previously mentioned vehicle changes or moving them around in the categories mainly because of the wording they used, "as well as shifting the MD540 Nightbird out into the Attack Helicopter pool, ensuring that Air Transport is more readily available in the round". My concern with that is the "air transport" in Battlefield 2042 can have loadouts that basically make them flying tanks/LAVs so they destroy a lot and they are quite difficult to kill when crewed by a full squad, oh and don't forget anyone on a team of 64 players can spawn on them... If they were like air transport from previous Battlefield games they'd have just some simple mini-guns on the side and open doors on the side and I think that would have been a better direction to take them especially because they are mobile spawn points. Having those be more readily available when there is also the MAV ( another mobile spawn point for the ground ) could lead to more annoying situations for the random player. Also I still believe that they should do away with the player choice when selecting vehicles for maps, it always messes up balance when you let players pick whatever vehicle they want and most maps appear to be balanced around a specific pool of vehicles and not all of them. My go to example for that is what if they let players do that in BF4, a map like Flood Zone would be quite frustrating if they were allowed to pick whatever they wanted because most would pick the attack-chopper instead of a little bird but that map isn't really balanced for that aircraft. Apologies if I went off topic there I just haven't written that out yet in comments I've mostly only mentioned it on stream when questions related to it arise.

for all the faults of this game, the driving in it is pretty solid. i think thats the thing i enjoyed the most out of the beta back when i played it - just driving around in the LATV.

I think the best options to balance the transports would be giving them miniguns, 50 cals and 40mm (maybe a TOW). Thus allow for the use of APCs with those higher powered cannons. I really miss the LAV-25 and BTR-90 :/ I really don’t like the choice of vehicles they gave us. An APC can do the job of the LATV and Bolte, while being way more effective in game.
And with that they could’ve removed the two additional seats from the tanks and place them into the APCs.
That's what a MAV is... and it has all that. I hate it, too many cannons and shit.
@@anthonyplatero1147 They should’ve kept it the same as the AMTRAC from BF3 and 4. A mobile spawn point with a mk19 and 50 cal for the gunner and just passenger seats for 4 people.

Bruh how are you running bf2042 so smooth? Im playing on low on a 3070 and cant even get a decent fps and it looks like shit.
The game is currently more CPU intensive or requires high frequency low IPC latency cores.

@@anthonyplatero1147 thing is, it's faster than an AA LAV, it has virtually no cool down, and the game only has 1 dedicated rpg.
@@troypowers750 There are many doors ed -boy, you don't even need to blow it up, the crew will legit die to a single c5, can get disabled on a slight pebble, and the thing has some poor stability. With at least a small band of people prioritizing taking out transports, the field is pretty much held.

Because the devs thought that this could accommodate 128 people...it obviously didn't. So they have to scramble to scale it back down.
Even on videos with good moments and players this game feels worse than raw gameplay of average soldier in BF4...
why waste 50MM when you can just go "Blastcorps" and sidewinder them.

Dude still plays 2042 and seems like he loves this game, when everyone is hating on this game, this game is still good.
Most triple A games are good even the "bad" once. Its just that the bad ones could have been better.
He always buys the most recently supported BF title as a tradition. He doesn't like many of the changes to the game, but this is just his way of making content and having fun...as warped as it is. He's fine with playing older games as long as his friends are...yeah...warped.

At this point, he's part of the older BF generation who were estranged after the changes in BF3 or arguably before so where many moved on after they were ousted as not part of the demographic (supported by the response from the devs back in the UK forums). I have a feeling that we'll be the generation who sees and will go through what Ravic has gone through...maybe? As far as insider info goes (and yes it's speculative), it seems like this game didn't sit well with even the casuals and we started paying more and more attention as time went on. What do I mean? Essentially Ravic and many more before him didn't like the changes, and it got progressively worse over time with changes like FLIR, using parts of already made maps to fit the minimum criteria for making modes like Rush to varying degrees of success, passive and active radar being a thing which made bomber jets already even more useless and a niche, and the classes which got worse with BF1. He's already convinced that everything would get worse after 3. Rightfully so I'm afraid. So he's just giving us a taste of what's to come without trying to be too vocal about his opinion so that we can come to our own conclusions as he's given up. That's what it sounds like whenever I ask him about Tom Henderson's findings. Or how simple things like scoreboards missing day one and the half-assed implementation were actually similar problems back then like one of the BFs not having text chat day one or crash to desktop complaints going unheard until very late in the past games' lifespan. A really bleak and black pilled, but understandable perspective.
