You're mostly either too much wait or rush your shots. But I'll agree that shell velocity and drop is insane on that thing. We might complain about it in the game, but on the other hand it somewhat fits the futuristic style.
after 5 straight games with the air power being op vs ground targets, the addition of this tank is a welcome one.

I unlocked this tank a few days ago and I have hit some insane shots. I have terrorized the game with this tank.
I'm having fun playing BF2042, I just wish there were more guns. Also love how competent the AI is on solo following orders and stuff. Far from perfect but I hope they add more content. I don't want BF to die because I don't see any hope for CoD anymore.
Imagine this version would be the release version - it would have less guns then launch bf4 and compareable map count lmao.

3000m/s (Mach 8) is def within the range of muzzle velocities that military railguns seek to achieve. For comparison, it's around twice the muzzle velocity of the most modern APFSDS ammunition used by current MBTs.
Far as gameplay is concerned, it's basically hitscan, if not very close to it xD

Actually, the railgun on the tank has been “balanced.” By that, I mean it’s nerfed compared to the real power and velocity of a railgun. The charge time would be near-instant and it would essentially be hitscan. In the game, though, the charge time is roughly a second and the shot doesn’t fly nearly as fast. You also probably wouldn’t see it just detonate on a target in real life - rather, it would pass directly through.
I’m a bit more of a Gauss gun fanatic than a railgun fanatic, Gauss guns are basically the lite version of railguns. Rather than using costly electromagnetic rails to achieve beyond-lightspeed velocities, a series of copper coils are charged for mere nanoseconds to either pull a magnetic projectile or to push a conductive projectile. The velocity starts low and increases for each additional coil you add, both increasing length and electronic potential, the latter of which can be dangerous if not properly contained (it can let off electromagnetic pulses, which can disable or destroy small electronics, and even potentially fry the gun itself).

I got BF2042 just the other day and I have to say it’s really quite fun. There’s only one notable glitch now it looks like and that’s one where for some reason you’re unable to sprint until you fire a bullet. It’s not a game breaking glitch so the game is basically perfect now
its far from perfect but its really fun, simillar story as battlefield 5

few days ago some mfs in breakthrough came up with the best railgun tank setup for defense by placing the tank behind cover and expose just the turret and also deploy a trophy in front of it so any rocket shots become useless

i think it's balance tho, siege mode and mobile mode offer different things, not to mention turret movement is almost nill on capasitor charge

The RailTank is super fun in El Alamein.
I slowed down the hovercraft fight down to .07%. If you missed, it was because you shot between the vehicle and the side guns. It was about as close as you can be without hitting.
I kinda like their thoughts on balancing that thing... not good against infantry, but the absolute vehicle killer. its just disgusting for helis and jets now, that needs to be fixed

I think these tanks are good for AA. If you can land shot then better for the round. Vehicles are overpowered and this is a good way to combat them
