  • Dr. Taimur Rahman examines the big changes in the post-cold war period and argues that in the last three decades US hegemony is being increasingly challenged by Russia, China, the pink tide in Latin America, the growth of Chinese influence in Africa, and finally, the Muslim reaction to Israel-Palestine conflict.

You missed very important part here. You forgot to mention the Iranian revolution that changed everything in the middle east. Iranian backed rebels in Lebanon started targeting Israeli, French and American troops which led to their withdrawal from Lebanon. On October 23, 1983, Hezbollah killed 241 U.S. military personnel, including 220 Marines, 18 sailors, and three soldiers. Minutes later, a second attack killed 58 French paratroopers. Adding to that, you also forgot to mention the Israeli invasion of Lebanon in 2006 and how Hezbollah, backed by Iran, not only withstood the entire military might of Israel but made them suffer heavy casualties that led to their withdrawal from Lebanon without achieving their single military objective. This was the first defeat of Israel at the hands of militias rather than a regular army. This is also the reason that despite hundreds of attacks on Israel from Lebanon, Israel never dares to invade Lebanon again. You also forgot that US invasion of Iraq opened the Iraqi and Syrian territory to the Iranian proxies. Iran has formed a crescent of alliances against Israel that includes Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Yemen and Palestine. Can we say that Iran may lead the middle east in the future? Because at the moment, Iran is the famous underdog in the entire Islamic world receiving huge support challenging Israel and the US.

Pakistan needs to chart a long term course to steer clear of United States. United States is an aging democracy. While it still has many positive institutions, its foreign policy is not built on every one prospering, particularly countries like Pakistan or any Muslim country. The prime US purpose is to keep the Dollar as the dominant currency allowing it to use as choke hold on Pakistan. The US population is aging. The future lies with Asian and African countries with younger population. Chart a course that in 15-years frees up Pakistan from the boot on its neck i.e IMF. It can be done over a 15-year period. Lets get serious and solve our problems.

Dear Sir you did not discuss ASEAN countries as well as BRICS especially "India "inter governmental organization their role and contribution in undermining US hagemony.
India especially playing great diplomatic game with all powerful stakeholders as with Russia, it buying oil on low cost by grabbing full opportunity of Ukraine war. And also balancing arc with US by giving US lollipop of containment of china policy. And also balancing with middle east, Iran "chabar port. Recent deal" relation quite cordial superb also balancing with Israel taking advantage of Israel tech. India Act east policy is increasing as recent support to Philippines against china. India also more importantly maintaining its relation with china as recent report " China and India trade exceeded 100B dollar which is more than US. So over all Doctrine of Jaishankar remains quite successful so far.

Sir kindly few things . First change that 1.1 billion military spending figure to 1 trillion . Secondly and most importantly in middle east part where is islamic revolution of iran , which created an earthquake in that part in particular and in west general because this revolution was fundamentally different from most revolutions like french revolution , bolshevik revolution or chinese revolution etc due to this revolution that changed equation on grand scale for united states of america let me quote here pepe escobar one of the greatest minds of our times usa lost middle east due iranian revolution , firstly usa was defeated in lebanon , then in iraq and then in syria. thirdly where is emergence of hezbollah mentioned in the presentation which literally forced israel which was called once an invicible army to flee from lebanon in 2000 . And in 2003 iraq invasion and again 2006 there was war between israel and hezbollah which is called 33 days war wbich according to israel fact finding report israel lost it because it could not achieve its strategic goals of returning soldiers from hezbollah and eliminate the resistance force once and for all , during this war condolisa rice fqmously said middle east is going through pains and screams to give birth to new middle east which is there will be no threat to israel on its northern borders from hezbollah and in the end israel lost the war after full western support and syed nasrullah famously said what arab armies failed to achieve what arab resistance achieved by making invincible israel army an impotent army in face of islamic resistance . Kindly do not omit most important things from middle east which is iranian revolution , hezbollah resistance ty
