7.3 Ford Powerstroke Turbo Diesel Oil Leak Diagnosis (Your rear main seal is NOT leaking!)

  • I see multiple posts a week regarding oil leaks and 7.3 trucks, and 9 of 10 out of these make reference to the trucks rear main seal. I’m here to show you a somewhat quick, but thorough, way to eliminate a few things before deciding your rear main seal is leaking……which it isn’t.

    great vid. Have the same problem, tried removing the turbo though. My lord ford had to make the 7.3 the hardest turbo to remove.

    Thanks for this! Was told it was my rear main and I found my turbo pedestal had a narly leak. Saved me a shit load of money man🫡

    Good info. My 2002 F350 7.3 is leaking some oil which got worse in the freezing temps, which made me think oil cooler. I took it to a shop and they told me I need a complete reseal. Motor out. $6000! He said my front seal, rear main, intake, and oil cooler are all leaking but I don't believe it. I think it's somewhere in the valley and the oil cooler. MAYBE the front seal too but NOT the rear main. I'll have to dive into it myself. It's leaking towards front of the motor the most.
