2024 CKMBHL Hockey: 06/23/24 Chatham Sharknados vs Arrows

Game 10 was the second and final matchup against the Arrows for your Sharknados in the CKMBHL Regular Season, and the guys brought their A-Game for the contest.
The first period was rather competitive, and saw the Arrows try their hardest to get one past the brick wall that is Kevin Poirier. Never fear, with 6:42 remaining in the first period Serge Alves scored his 5th goal of the season assisted by Skylar Jackson and Macguire Graham - the period ended with a 1-0 lead for the good guys.
The second period was still a close one, but two players stepped up at a perfect time - Braeden Nicholson tallied his first on a beautiful setup from the Graham brothers! Matt Ruttle got in on the fun with a goal assisted by Braden Nicholson! With 1:02 left in the 2nd period, the Arrows looked like they scored to bring the lead down to 2 - but after a Sharknados challenge the goal was overturned due to a crease violation. The second period ended with the lead now at 3.
The third period saw our Sharknados play a good balance of defense while keeping the foot on the gas pedal - and when the opposition nearly beat Poirier - who else but Skylar Jackson made a phenomenal block to preserve the shutout - garnering praise from our boys on the floor and on the bench. Finally, time expired and the result was a 3-0 Sharknados victory.
The Sharknados MVP of the Game was awarded to Mitchell Benn, he showed excellent leadership in the contest - being a vocal presence on the floor and on the bench, he has been consistent throughout the season and this award was well deserved. Congrats Mitch!!!
The next game is Wednesday June 26th against the gritty and resilient Chatham Rockets backed by goaltender Trevor Ashton - start time is 8pm.
