Game 11 was the second and final matchup against the Chatham Rockets, and it certainly was a great night for our Sharknados!
The scoring started early, and often. Macguire Graham got the party started with his 8th of the season assisted by his brother Parker! Macguire returned the favour setting up Parker for a goal of his own, which was his team-leading 15th goal of the year! Defenseman Brandon Vadovic followed it up with his 3rd of the campaign, assisted by Braeden Nicholson and Matt Ruttle. Travis Winkworth then potted his 6th of the season, setup by the Graham brothers. The Rockets got on the board with a fittingly rocket of a shot from Jordan Arseneau, assisted by Chris Gallagher.
The second period was a bit lighter on the scoring front, but still a good one for our guys, Mitchell Benn sniped his 2nd of the season setup by our Captain Kyle Wellington! Kevin O'Connor near the end of the frame fired off a cannon of a shot - his third of the campaign following 2 nice passes from Mitchell Benn and Braeden Nicholson to make it 6-1 Sharknados.
The third period was a little chippy, but that just makes for good hockey. It was also another great offensive period for our guys in grey. Travis Winkworth got his 2nd of the game setup by the Graham brothers. Parker then secured his 2nd of the game, setup by brother Macguire and Braeden Nicholson. Braden then setup Brandon Joyes for his first of the year, and then helped Koby Morry get his second of the campaign. This contest ended with a final score of 10-1.
The Sharknados MVP of the Game was awarded to Braeden Nicholson! Braeden has played phenomenally as of late, and put on a passing clinic with 5 assists in the game. Congrats Braeden!!!!
The Sharknados have now made history with a record 11 straight wins and secured the Regular Season Championship. The guys are off for a week and resume play with the final game of the season with a matchup against the Grumpy Old Men! They have a chance to make further history, as they are 4 goals away from breaking the CKMBHL Tier-4 Record for Most Goals in a Single Season.
