  • Frieren: Beyond Journey's end or Sousou no Frieren has a brand new anime adaptation that's kicked off in the Fall Anime season of 2023 and its prologue was beyond beautiful. Frieren's been getting a lot of hype for a few years now as it was a breath of fresh air for the Fantasy genre. It brought a fresh perspective to the hero's journey, as it focuses on what happens after the journey ends. I know a lot of us are used to watching shows where the Demon King is defeated and everyone lives happily ever after, but what about characters that simply move on with life? Characters that out last the others? That's what Frieren is and even though I was expecting heartbreak throughout the first couple of episodes, I didn't expect to be hit this hard by seeing Frieren cope with the emotions that came with losing the companions she had been traveling with for so many years. The world of Frieren feels extremely vast to encapsulate this feeling of loneliness that Frieren has to deal with as she travels the land and continues to remain the same for centuries one end. This is one of the few anime where I'm not really sure what kind of challenges Frieren and Fern are going to run into, which makes me even more excited. All I know is that my soul can't take any more of Frieren crying.
Thank you so much for watching this video! If you enjoyed it, please feel to like and subscribe. If you have any manga or anime recommendations for me, drop them below and I'll try to check them out. Have a wonderful day :)

Lol the two hours later "Frieren ill be your friend" totally felt the same. But yeah this anime has me in total waterworks every episode, the flashbacks Frieren has always break me, because of that scene during Himmels funeral.

reminder for those who are new to this series. Frieren not immortal. she just an elf which mean she has long life span. the race's life span also affected how they behave. they end up not in hurry to seek out relationship with each others and prefer to live in solitude and carry their life at their own pace regardless of the world. while human is opposite. shorter lifespan, they end up seeks out bonding with others and end up socializing, grow up their community then later end up with massive nation. these is partially one of reason why there is less elf while massive numbers of human in world
there is no 'immortality is a curse' troupe here. curse not part of the story either. Frieren also not a typical tragic depressed heroin. it is about time flow differences between different people and race. similliar concept like from Maquia but taken further. it is also not a sad depressed story. but more melancholic with mix of funny element.

I'll wait for it to simmer and probably make another video on it around the 15-20 chapter mark
