I really appreciate this message. I needed to hear this. I am going through a situation at work and this has put things into perspective. Thank you SA!!!
“It unleashed me” … go get your yours brother!
No Cap Bro! 💯
Me too, man. I can’t stop hooking up with people from work! I know it’s immature but honestly there’s not a lot of places to meet good, hard working people anymore. It’s caused some problems but luckily our team sticks together as it is a family business and we only hire family. Hang in there!
@@maximilienrobes1822wtf?
@@4fizzlebaby444 Lol. That flew over everyones head!!!
I used to work with a young lady who talked to our boss in an unprofessional manner. I was in the company before she joined the company. I told her she was going to be fired, she didn't believe me she got fired the following week. When you work for people who cut your check there is a line that you don't cross.
No matter what people say about you Stephen A., this is why I respect and admire you so much as a young Black man in his late 20s. You are honest, strong, confident, humble, intelligent, and inspiring! ✊🏾💪🏾🙌🏾👏🏾💐
Embarrassing
Who cares ur black
People who identify as a race and sees race your racist or a wanna be victim
Race is a non issue in 2023 it’s ALL about class
Us regular people vs the global elites
Watch the world economic forum
Race is a dividing agent u clowns by into ot
That’s great but why is your age important?
@@agrade87 it's not really, but if he was to read it, for him to know who his impact has reached. I'm sure he already know his impact and his audience demographic is (based on their TV and online analytics data), but it's to give him his flowers and not for him to give me validation or brownie points.
@@agrade87 Also data analytics are not always very telling of the faces behind the numbers or can be skewed. Peace and blessings. 👍🏾
first take should've been titled "Stephen A Smith with ESPN" this man is carrying the ESPN for the longest of time
facts
Once Skip left, yeah.
No he has not. They have carried him he has stayed with it through hard hard and dedication..He gets good money and luxury everything and notoriety and loves all the theatrical nonsense like being a knick fan and cowboy hater and bragging about speech and clowning others wardrobe. He is just a dude working for the man. Give and take..He isn't carrying anything. He got Max fired because he was INTIMIDATED..THATS fact. He is selfish and egotistical but still a hard worker and we watch him still. But don't forget he is a puppet and does the bidding of others. Carrying ESPN. NAH. That's like saying The Rock is carrying Hollywood just cuz he is the highest paid action tlstar though he actually has NO RANGE when it comes to acting.
@@kungfufemafam9216 I’m not gonna even read your comment but you stupid if you don’t think SAS is carrying ESPN. The man works 24/7, got 39 shows and people tune in to watch and hear him. Go compare first take numbers with him and without him.

This is something we can all use in all professional lives, when asking for that raise. Know how to show your value
Man, Stephen A you're the GOAT. This is one of the most thoughtful and best messages I've seen. Great advice.
This was insightful. Thank you for posting this. I think it's important for black men like myself to hear this message.
Wooow i needed this…I feel I’m a young Stephen A. That’s wild I really appreciate things like this. I’m about to harder!💪🏾💪🏾
Thank you for sharing and your humility example to explain how difficult situations might only be temporary or necessary for growth. 👍🏽 gracias amigo.
Thanks Stephen A, while I am not in the same industry as you or level by far, this message resonates across all industries, thanks for dropping these gems and sharing your story.
Thank you my Brother. You give me hope through these hard times in my life. Your message is truly God sent.
I feel like your message about having the cards at the table towards the end, can be universal in any workplace and when striving for career growth.
This is the realest and most important take you've ever had, IMO. More young black professionals need this perspective!
Lmao i thought he left ESPN. Misread this 😂😂😂

I have mad respect for Stephen A, I have watched his career over the years. He has alwyas kept it a buck whether you liked his product or not and always been self reflecting. Deion Sanders once said, when it's time people will find out about what Stephen A has done for african americans and sports journalism and we will be in awe, I belive him. Most people trying to do sports on You Tube use him as their bar whether they admit it or not and know the reason they video blog is beause of him. Give him his flowers while he's here.
Stehen A is the only reason I watch ESPN. Malika Andrews is the only reason I avoid it. Truth.
Amazing video Stephen!! I love the energy that you bring to the set, the intellect, the furious candor that you provide to all your viewers. I’m a photographer based in Miami and I know you like coming down here for the wonderful weather and everything. If you would give me the opportunity, I would like to photograph some head shots of you in the studio or outdoors, whatever you want! It would be my honor. Much respect ! 🙌🏾
Thank you for finally having your OWN show👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 ONE LOVE 🖤💚❤️
This clip is a gem and free game to someone like me. I know Stephen A. probably won't read this but this is insightful to me because I have been hustling and fighting for every opportunity that I have. I'm a freelancer in sports media still searching and fighting for a full-time opportunity. I'm curious about agents. Can agents work for print or only broadcasting? I'm thinking about my strategy. I want to make sure I have something to show for my hustle.
Needed to hear this
I needed to hear this man I work hard but right now I barely can afford anything I got kids and I don’t no what for dinner tonight but I’m going to keep pushing thanks
If anyone kno food banks near fort payne let me kno
I don’t always agree with your view on items, but I always understand them because you articulate the “tough stuff” so well. Go get it, brutha!!
Awesome take! Thank you SAS! We don't agree on everything, but I couldn't respect you more because of insights like this.
Mad respect ✊🏾. You’re talented, but you can still come back…never give up. You can adjust and grow, we need you out here man. You’re an honorable man, not too many left, even if I didn’t agree with you on some topics
Excellent msg SA. Sometimes things don’t happen to us, they happen for us. As for ESPN, SAS (and now JJ Reddick) on First Take is the only reason I tune in every day. I can’t be the only one.
Thank you S.A.S. Having PodFade with just life happening, but needed this.
For those who think there is no way that you will ever be able to achieve that goal that you have been scraping and clawing to achieve - this is a reminder that sometimes it is about understanding where you are along the journey toward achieving that goal. Timing is no misconception. Continue grinding along this relentless pursuit. Stay blessed.
I’m in the same boat brother. Trying to feed my family and keep the lights on. Unexpected things like this are tough. Keep your head up.
Thank you for making me understand more about myself and to continue to watch who I should keep watching to educate myself thank you SA
Respect SAS, glad you found your way...
Had to subscribe. Real jewels
0:18 love the almost not too subtle book promo 😂 im fr gonna get this book.
Wow Stephen A!!!Priceless and Speechless
Amen, loved this info. Thanks Steven A.❤️
Great Message
Great message especially for us that already have some business established but no analytics on your worth
I love you SAS. Always keeping it real. You know who you are and where you came from. I only watch First take because of you. The show should be called first take with sas.
Great Podcast! Love it!
Stephen A is an honorable guy. Always keeps it real, whether you agree with him or not. He has infuriated me many times in the past, but I respect the hell out of him. He talks to a lot of people who disagree with him and keeps it civil while still sticking to his core beliefs
Great points. I became a better entrepreneur when I started studying my analytics and sales numbers. More importantly, what is driving those numbers.
Maybe you can't believe you have fan from far away, I'm from Hong Kong, I watched you through CZcams for years. Although tones of bad things happened here but it will be fine. I know bad things won't go away even in decades, just more & more good things losing but more & more bad things keep coming, your shows help me a lot, just want to say thank you and hope you nothing but the best 🙏
I started watching Stephen A in the 90, I was in 2nd year high school. Probably he has a show on CNN. He talks about basketball etc. I could not believe that this dude right here will be very successful. But I already know at that time that he can talk. So continue what you're doing.
I love this, thank you Stephen.
I still remember Stephen A. From the Best Damn Sports Show. I miss that show.
Message of the day 🗣️
Awesome video
This is a dope video SAS
I like the “No Mercy” Steven more than the Espn Steven!!
Really enjoy Stephen!
That was deep toward the end. Damn, rethinking my approach.
What. A. Message. 👏
He slowly laying the groundwork to become independent once espn has their rumored mega layoff this summer
SA would be the last person they'd lay off! He is ESPN.
@@jakjones8680facts! he’s the only most people watch
Facts, SA would get hired immediately if ESPN let him go again but he IS that network lol. They have that man working 12am to 11:59pm lol but he’s the best paid broadcaster there. Has his own show, radio show, covers the NBA and all that. Mans back has to hurt carrying a network on his back 😂. Imagine he left? ESPN would be there SpongeBob office fire meme lmao
@@jakjones8680 it'd strictly be to save money if they let him go. Rumor is they want to keep the cheaper on air personalitys and get rid of some of top paid folks
@@iTuber012 they are not letting him go bro. He's carrying the entire Network. It's the other shows why ESPN are losing revenue!
Powerful 💪🏾
Nice name drops! 💯
I appreciate you Stephen A., THANK YOU.
Lol 😆 🤣 😂 brutal... we all go through something like that at least once in our lives. One step at a time.
Real Talk
Mr a that's the difference between a poor person and a rich person that ain't nothing but conversation
This is Stephen A. letting everyone know that he is leaving ESPN.
underrted comment
All the sports takes aside, SAS is ESPN imo, he’s one of the most popular figures on the brand and thats not a knock to anyone else there but people tune into first take to see him
Stephen A. much love.
Never got goosebumps from SAS before, "its business "
Reason y I like this brother even if I don’t agree with 90 percent of his takes kudos bro
This podcast is a fucking goldmine of great stories and advice tbh
coincidence the lyrics of Skip's show theme are "no mercy" and SAS's podcast is called "know mercy"?
He cracked 100K subs fast. He’s going for at least 1M before the year is over.
We need ppl like Stephen A. Gotta tell let it like it is. Truth speaks volumes of Facts. This generation is just too woke to hear them.
Woke? Why we talking about politics on a sports podcast? Woke was used by black ppl since the 1930s as a way to alert other black’s about racial prejudices.
@@jamirbingham4101 B/c his podcast isn't about just sports...... Thats why its his own....podcast and not under ESPN.
Well today is 2023 alot things has changed from 1930 especially with the existence of social media that has transformed people to be extremely sensitive in our society. "Woke" is appropriately used here since a lot of folks can't take in facts without attempting to cancel the narrative.
God bless you Stephen A.
You should’ve been left ESPN 😂
Speak truth man...its not race its money....in business you have to know for value...period...that's been my experience right or wrong..
I don’t always dig Stephen a’s hot take stuff on first take (I know it’s more or less a character), but the dude is smart as hell and so dope on chill podcast settings
This is damn good advice,.
Stephen A, you are our number 1 star on the sports shows.
The best on the market.
I love this version of s.a.s
SAS,
I remember that dark moment when they took you off the air, didn’t really know the details behind it until now, and I’ve gained much more respect for you as an analyst, anchor, and any other hats you wear.
I apologize, because I stopped watching ESPN after the Udoka incident was made public to embarrass that man and his family. I don’t condone what he did, but that married woman with kids was complicit, they shared it equally. ESPN refused to allow you, Jaylen, and Perk to voice your opinion about how wrong it was to blast Udoka and protect the woman. No one outside of the Celtics front office should know what happened between them, and I think they both should’ve been fired or at least received equal punishment.
I watch the games on ESPN but I refuse to watch any pregame shows, especially with Malika Andrews! I haven’t watched since she was allowed to chastise you, Jaylen, and Perk on live television over this Udoka nonsense. The false armpit assault with JRose was awful, I saw that here on CZcams, couldn’t believe it.
ESPN hasn’t had anything to say about the female basketball coach from Miami Ohio getting fired for sleeping with one of her female players. As Malika said, “SA, we’re not here to blame women, that’s not what we’re here for!” We didn’t hear about that incident on ESPN, but it did get out and it shouldn’t have! It should have been handled privately by the University, but they chose to leak that information about her firing because she is a black coach dating her white player. That’s insubordination between a coach and player, why is Malika and ESPN not running with this story?
You know the answer to that SA, good luck to you in all your future endeavors.
I’m out of the loop, did SAS quit ESPN? When, how, Why???
“MESSAGE!!!”
Pat is going the ESPN route and Stephen A is going the Pat route
Thank u support ' Allen Allen Perfection Barber LLC.
Stephen A should talk about the time he got suspended for speaking THE TRUTH about the Ray Rice case. Michelle Beadle could not take a smart blackman speaking the truth, so she got SAS suspended.
He got suspended over Ocho Cinco
Gotta admit, I'm impressed by this one.
And now your carrying espn on your back 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
This the tweet
That’s good self work SA!
