Adam Silver should suspend Ja for the entire season. If that happens, he has to answer to the Grizzlies and be held accountable. Ja has to realize that his actions don't affect just him. They affect others around him. I don't what else can be done except permanently banning him from the league.

Yup, and Shannon Sharpe
The narratives come from a place...there is a pervasive force trying to divide us Americans at every turn. That's who those people work for.

These young NBA dudes so rich they forget that they are employees of a business (The NBA) that doesn't HAVE to employee them🤦
This is all on Ja, unfortunately. He needs accountability for his own actions. Grizzlies organization is at fault too for not having a positive culture, i love whoop that trick but a song about a man beating a woman is not a team anthem. Stephen A I think what we are missing after listening to you this morning on First Take concerning a law not being broken. The law for concealed or open carry does not allow you to brandish or deploy a firearm that is NOT is the act of self defense or defending of others. It is a public safety law issue. And what if does come into effect because we are constantly going to what ifs AFTER something has happened when you could have possibly avoided it. So it's time to take SERIOUS action to either get his attention or bounce him. Playing a professional sport is a privilege not a right. In that video it even looks like the barrel was pointing at his own head. Just imagine the narrative if that gun went off what would be said about how the NBA and others did not act.
Also might I add imagine a cop riding by seeing that.
I applaud this.. this is the kind of verbal lashing that usually comes from a parent or someone that loves you. That comes from the heart and only Someone who cares will give it to you raw like this. Thank you Sir!!!
So you and others are impressed, but how does this help Ja if that truly is the purpose. smith to me is just trying to impress his white fan base which include Republicans.
Stephan A is now and old man in the pocket of his woke network overlords. He's been suspended himself, and dropped from ESPN in the past for speaking the truth. Now he toes the company line. Not to be applauded. I liked Stephan when he defended his culture, not tried to cancel it.
@@user-vs7lq7lq2b I understand how that can be a way of looking at it. However, I am a daughter of a coach and granddaughter of another. I have seen talented men loose great opportunities due to some of their decisions. Yes there is a double standard. Unfortunately, that is not about to change today. So until that changes, some professional players have to be aware of their behavior because due to the double standard, he can loose it all. My Father has had to have that conversation with some of his players, and some of them were better for it. Some lost it all.
@@DaryMatera Yes, that is correct. As we get older we learn from our mistakes and we don’t want to see others go down a road that can hurt them for years to come. I was one of those that bumped my head more times than I care to speak about, BUT what I learned gave me the wisdom to speak from a place of experience. With that experience also came the experience of the consequences. I don’t ever want anyone I love to experience those consequences. NOW, we are all our own person and we have the right to go down whatever path we chose, but sometimes we can change course. And sometimes if we listen to those that have done the wrong thing, got suspended, lost money, lost jobs, etc, we can avoid the pit hole that is on that path.
Wants to be a Gangster not an NBA Player, Silver should help him with that dream. One year suspension with some sort of therapy.

Suspend him for the entire season. Send a message! Stupidity like this can't be tolerated from a platform!
suspension for a season is a harsh punishment according to nba past precedent, but got damn is this situation stupid. 1 year off is a gift. decision making so out of wack wowsers
@@socrjox10 Either 1 year off or a hefty fine. 5 mil minimum. Make an example out of him. He clearly can't be trusted or taken seriously.

I'd ban him from the NBA until he gets his life together. I'd even offer help in doing so, if I were the NBA. At this point, he needs different people around him.
What exactly would that message be? That in some professions you are free to do what you want, and in others you're still a Slave to Da Man?
Imagine being ashamed of your upbringing and area that you grew up in because they raised you right and had a good home. Ja Morant and Kap are the same on this. Then it creates an identity crisis.
Why? Because the league is filled with people that have stories of where they came from. Hoods. Poverty etc…. So a guy like Ja Feels disconnected and insecure because he can’t relate at that level. He’s got no input on conversations about that. So he feels like he’s not accepted and is Constantly trying to prove himself.
Now he’s acting out looking for acceptance. Kap did the same thing. People need to *APPRECIATE* what their parents did. Just because you come from the suburbs or not doesn’t mean that you are any less of a man. Anybody can throw hands it’s the heart of the person that determines your drive and that’s built inside not on a street. But spitting on your parents grind and hustle by intentionally lowering the bar *DOES* make you less of a man. Instead of being a leader. Ja has become a Follower.
And his little friend is just a minion of the devil sent there to derail Ja.
It’s really simple actually: lessons get repeated until they are learned but the only lesson Ja learned was that he can do what he wants without negative consequences. Had the league handed down a stern penalty the first time he might be thinking differently now. I thought the “red laser pointed at the Pacers” was insanely irrational behavior that deserved a severe reprimand. That didn’t happen. By the time all the other issues came to light his team/the league handed down a minuscule penalty, showing bias and favoritism towards Ja which only served to empower him. Loss and pain tend to speed up our lesson learning and I’d argue his initial penalty was more helpful than harmful. Missing a few games before playoffs gave him rest; spending a weekend at a stress management spa getting reiki energy healing isn’t exactly a tough consequence. The entire way in which the league handled the situation was laughable. Now Ja has forced their hand and it’s on the league to act accordingly. This time is gonna be different and he’ll deserve every penalty he gets. To whom much is given much is asked. That’s a saying for reason.

Morant conducted the sit-down interview with Rose in New York hours after meeting with NBA commissioner Adam Silver, who called Morant's conduct "irresponsible, reckless and potentially very dangerous" in a statement Wednesday announcing the eight-game suspension.
"Honestly, I feel like we put ourselves in that situation with our past mistakes, and now it's only right that we focus in and lock in on being smarter and more responsible, holding each other accountable for everything," Morant said Wednesday during an interview with ESPN's Jalen Rose, referring to his inner circle. "I feel like in the past we didn't know what was at stake. And now finally me having that time to realize everything, have that time alone, I realize that now.
"I realize what I have to lose, and for us as a group, what we have to lose. It's pretty much just that being more responsible, more smarter and staying away from all the bad decisions."
Morant conducted the sit-down interview with Rose in New York hours after meeting with NBA commissioner Adam Silver, who called Morant's conduct "irresponsible, reckless and potentially very dangerous" in a statement Wednesday announcing the eight-game suspension.
"It was good -- pretty much an open discussion," Morant said of his meeting with Silver. "Obviously, he said things I need to be better at, but more of just showing his support towards me. I accepted that, and I also sent my apologies to everybody -- to the league, myself, my teammates, my family for putting that negativity towards all of us with a bad decision."
"It's not who I am," Morant said. "I don't condone it or any type of violence, but I take full responsibility from my actions. I made a bad mistake. I can see the image that I painted over myself with my recent mistakes. But in the future, I'm going to show everybody who Ja really is, what I'm about and change this narrative that everybody got."
Morant described his decision to conduct an Instagram Live session while partying at Shotgun Willie's, a strip club in Glendale, Colorado, as "pretty much just trying to be free."
"I used that as an escape, which I shouldn't have," Morant said. "I feel like that's the reason I made many bad decisions in my past, which doesn't pretty much describe me, doesn't describe Ja as a person. I'm a totally different person than what's been shown in the media. That's my job now. That's why I took that time away, to become a better Ja, so everybody really can see who Ja really is and you know what he's about."
"The majority of the things that's happened in the past, obviously, I kind of put myself into by even being there," Morant said. "But all the incidents you've seen recently, most of them is a LIE. I can't speak too much on those situations because all of 'em are sealed. I really can't wait to be able to finally tell the truth. But what I can say is, like I said before, none of those are my character. I'm a big family guy. I always care for my family. So it was just me checking on my family's safety. Once my family is safe, I left the scene."

0 sympathy for him... 1st time you can make excuses.. 2nd time he doesn't care.
very many employment contracts and sponsorship contracts have "Good Moral Character" clauses. I would guess that in the NBA, these clauses are multi-paragraph provisions of the contract. These teams and the NBA need to lay down heavy markers so that players have NO doubt about the probable consequences of stupid/adolescent/criminal behaviors.
Well said!!
It's his life he knows what he's losing.
Everyone around him seems to enable his bad behavior, Including the NBA for not coming down on him much harder than that BS 8 (actually 2) game suspension. He has parents that allowed him to retire them before he barely plays through his rookie contract. He has a toxic, parasitic relationship with someone he refers to as a best friend. The women in his family want to call him to stir up trouble every time someone so much as disagrees with them. At the rate he is currently going, to say prison or death is in Ja's not too distant future wouldn't be the most unsafe bet to make. Hopefully, there's someone that can somehow rein this kid in before it's too late.
