I'm amazed by Wilt Chamberlain's athleticism. He was born in 1936 and died in 1999. Imagine if he was born 70 years later? Didn't receive the advanced nutrition and training.
. If wilt had a little help adding muscle mass like Shaq did, Wilt would be unstoppable. Anyone who feels he could not play in today's game is insane. He was a freak.
I bring up this point about those players who dominated in their era's we really don't know the full potential.

Curry, MJ, LeBron, Duncan, Shaq. Curry covers 3 point shooting, MJ - mid range, LeBron - all rounder, duncan - Defense and post play, and Shaq - dominant inside
Doing a "Starting 5" is a fun exercise because it doesn't necessarily mean you put the greatest players at each position in there, but rather trying to construct 5 guys whose games would absolutely gel with each other. So from that point of view, mine would be:
PG - Steph Curry
SG - Michael Jordan
SF - LeBron James
PF - Tim Duncan
C - Hakeem Olajuwon
Here's my reasoning:
- Offensively, Jordan and James would dominate the ball, with MJ looking to score and LeBron looking to facilitate, but can score at the basket any time he wants. Curry could certainly handle the ball at times, but would primarily run off the ball, knowing he'll get open all the time when Jordan and James are getting so much attention with the ball. Duncan wouldn't score much in this lineup, but he could set big screens, play pick-and-roll with LeBron, and facilitate out of the post, finding Curry or Jordan, and be a monster on the offensive glass. Olajuwon also wouldn't score much in this lineup, but would be extremely reliable getting open buckets at the rim, drawing fouls, and hitting his free throws.
- Defensively, Curry is the only liability, but Jordan and James would have the IQ to call out switches to "hide" Curry in bad matchup situations. Jordan would destroy anyone on the perimeter and LeBron could switch onto any player 1-4. Duncan and Olajuwon would shine as all-time great defenders in the paint, basically forming a wall so that nothing could get in there. While they would be limited in getting stretched out to the 3-point line, that's where James can assist as a help-side defender.
I have James in there instead of Magic to provide more scoring and better defense. I have Curry in there to give me all the outside shooting I would ever need. I have Duncan and Olajuwon both in there over guys like Durant, Shaq, and Kareem because they're simply better all-round defenders with high IQ and can score efficiently without needing a lot of shots. Jordan goes without saying. And for fun, I'd have Kobe as a 6th man who could provide scoring off the bench, tenacious defense, and you could have him in crunch time moments when you need to go get a bucket.
I like his list, but I like yours also. I'm objective unless someone has Rik Smits in their lineup lol
Very sound reasoning
Very fair, no argument.

For Me I would put this starting 5:
PG: Steph - can distribute and stretch the floor
SG: MJ - King of midrange, great slasher and great defender
SF: Bird - Can stretch the floor with curry, can distribute, slash and a great defender as well
PF: Duncan - Very reliable down low and very effective both defensively and offensively
C: Shaq - With steph stretching the floor, Shaq can dominate inside easily which will ensure easy 2 every single possession
6th Man: Lebron - Can Distribute, slash, defend and can play all 5 positions if needed.
Curry is the ultimate X factor u put him on the court it frees up your whole team because of how good he shoots never forget about his gravity
Curry is great but with MJ and prime Shaq on the team no need for floor space.
I love it. That starting 5 is straight up WINNERS.
That’s a very dominant 5 from Ray. No team beating them in a series.
Steph, Kobe, LeBron, Duncan, Kareem.
Steph: best shooter ever
Kobe: wash with Jordan
LeBron: bigger, faster, stronger and a way better defender than Bird
Duncan: GOAT PF
Kareem: unstoppable
Ray's team has "only" two 1st team all defensive players (MJ and Hakeem) while this team has 4 (all except Steph). So way better defensively, better shooting and still have the closer in Kobe.

I feel like someway or the other, we should try to get lebron in there tho, just imagine lebron being able to feed mj to his spots and being the ultimate facilitator with him. It would be as fluent if not more fluent than the ad-lebron offensive feed tandem. i just don't see the point of replacing lebron with a magic in the starting lineup. I agree with jj, steph, lebron, mj is the biggest killer trio. Magic was good, but i feel like he's a passer, and comparing him with bron, i take bron as he comes packaged with elite inside scoring also.
@@bigdripbobz1072 it all depends on the person tbh and who they’re a fan of. There’s nothing wrong with having magic in your starting 5 but given ,like you said, he’s more of a passer I think it’ll be wise to leave out LeBron and go with a 3 who’s more of a shooter to ensure you have a shooter in your team. Like Larry bird. However if you prefer Steph at the point then it’s LeBron at the 3 all day everyday.
That’s because the 2 next best shooting guards are not on his level.
You see how you got mj groin in your month? 😂
When talking about the All-Time Starting 5, Curry is the first player that should come up, because among the greatest and most skilled players he needs the ball the least in order to be effective. We are not talking only about individual skill, but about an all-time TEAM. So any team that does not have Curry as number one is just not it.
I agree 100% having Curry in your first 5 equals more space inside the paint, allowing those great to attack easily.
Curry??? That's a good joke🥱
Idk I’ll take magic over curry prolly
@@clintscollectables Magic is too ball dominant with 4 other all time greats on the team. Steph will simply move offball, and shoot threes, spacing the floor for everyone and giving htem easier shots. Magic is better all time, Steph in an all time lineup should be put first imo.

Props to JJ REDDICK for the Bryant respect and Curry love… I like those two with Jordan and Lebron. The only question then is the Center spot but I like shaq over Kareem. Prime shaq is the most unstoppable force in basketball and the spacing on this team would allow home to destroy the paint

@Maxjuliann you're sleeping on Bird's defensive ability. He made 3 all defensive teams. He was slower but crafty, had a good sense for steals and blocks. He wasn't a liability like a Steve Nash by any stretch on defense
@@jd87926 Bird was a good help/team defender. He wasn't clamping dudes up 1 on 1 like the Glove or Dennis Rodman. I'm Taking out Bird and putting in KD and the team is untouchable. Say what you want about his career but KD is a top 2 talent we have ever seen on the basketball court and he would fit in seamlessly with this team.
it really depends on what you want, ray's team is gonna have a lot of assists, defense especially at the rim and a lot of scoring in the mid range and unstoppable scoring at the paint with loads or rebounds. yes there is a lack of three point shooting, but if you are gonna trade three point shooting with scoring from MJ, Hakeem and Shaq? and if you want to beat this team with threes, a reminder would be warrirors vs lakers game 6, and remember, if your threes dont fall, you dont even have the rebound. I would take Curry at PG. He averages 30 points per game every year in double coverage. With this lineup he is 40+ points per game. I would also take Chamberlain or Russell as my center. With this lineup who needs a center that can score (although Chamberlain certainly could).
Would’ve went with Magic/Jordan/LeBron/Bird/Kareem (and Curry off the bench for more floor spacing)… but that’s a pretty solid all-time starting 5, from Ray!
Bird nah Tim Duncan
Curry utilizes screens and pick and rolls a lot so idk how he'd work with these players tbh.
Having magic Jordan and Lebron in the lineup is redundant af. They all do the same shyt
Replace steph with Magic and put magic on when Lebron needs a break, they are pointless together.
Bird didn't play long enough for me to put in top 10 ever. So he definitely wouldn't make my starting 5.

PG: Curry

Bron isn't the facilitator magic is but he's still good enough in that aspect not to mention better all-around. +Defense +Athleticism +Paint Threat .
Curry and Bird are there for shooting, especially if one is having an off day. Not to mention Bird's lack of shooting (if it were to happen) will be made up for by his defense and ability to give you 10+ boards anytime.
Jordan and Shaq are your killers. Jordan scores with Bron getting him or Shaq the ball. Only defensive liability is Curry who's weakness will EASILY be covered by the other 4.

At full strength team could go 82-0 with a below average bench.
Kobe is selfish volume shoter can play with nobody
Bro there is no logical reason to be Kobe over Jordan. Its an actual joke and I love Kobe. Kobe tried his best to be Jordan, but he is NOT Jordan. Doesn't make any sense
@@calioumarx4289 His 2009 and 2010 champs tell u otherwise. He won with Gasol as his 2nd best player. Which was still an amazing player, but if we all being honest that's still not the same level as Bron's 2nd guy in all of his 4 champs for example. So 🤷♂️
Pg-Bron
Sg-MJ
Sf-KD
Pf-Bird
C-Kareem
Have defense, size, shooting and playmakimg
PF and C are the hardest positions to choose because all the greats played those positions. Kareem,Russell,Hakeem,Shaq,Duncan,Garnett,Robinson,Dirk etc
How Kobe or Pippen or Bron doesn't squeeze into that SF position is beyond me. I love Bird but Allen is bananas for this lineup.
Bird is better than pippen and Kobe was a sg. Even if he was a sf a lot of people have bird over Kobe. NO excuse for Bron tho
I'm not surprised Pip didn't squeeze in their cause they're are many better options than him. Some lineups in the comments with Kobe and MJ were pretty good, but it's not surprising Allen only picked one between Bron and Magic. Bron and Magic's game don't mesh cause Magic's a better PG and Bron didn't do well off ball for pretty much his entire career. I think Magic wouldn't be good off ball either cause even though he had a set shot, I don't recall his offense being based on any type of off ball movement or coming off screens or anything like that.
@@gumballwaterson1957 Man you just took a dump on the greatest #2 man in the history of the game in Pippen, sheesh...😅
Im not a stats guy but Bird definitely wasn't a better option than Pip. Bron I will give you tho. Thats why I had to include him in the SF convo. Not PG position. And I had to squeeze Kobe in the SF because I seen him dominate from that position hear and there as well as he not being taken over MJ(even though I believe you can't go wrong with either one at guard) MJ has to get the edge.
@@Diego-fy6qz Ppl who have Bird over Kobe are casuals. Bird played half the career Kobe did and went out with a blown out back. Laying on the floor between minutes in the Olympics while Kobe resurrected his career TWICE and got 2 GOLD MEDALS with 7 trips to the Finals winning 5 and matching MJs all defensive teams with 9 selections...🤣🤣
Spare me...
Oh and I mentioned Kobe for sf because he has DOMINATED in that position before as well as the fact that not many of us taking him over MJ in that guard position. MJ has that locked down. But Kobe's playing weight was 220 lbs. standing at 6'7". Watch that war in the post with Melo against the Nuggets during the 08 or 09 playoff series and you'll see what Im saying.
@@jarrodmason4964 that's on your opinion which is cool Im just explaining the other side who would call you a casual for what you just said. Im neutral here
Jordan, Curry, Lebron, Hakeem, Duncan.
That's a good 5.
Best pick nobody can beat
terrible pick. curry is not a good starter in any 5v5 all-time conversation. any top 10 guard would eat steph up, both offensively and defensively
Man that is some starting 5. Hakeem could play power forward actually. Like a Duncan. Nice call on that one.
PG: Magic
SG: Kobe
SF: LeBron
PF: Duncan
C: Kareem
Kobe over mj? Learn ball
@@Diego-fy6qz MJ is better by far but Kobe a better scorer from the perimeter and if u look at how the roster is constructed I need a shooter. I could always go Steph over Magic n put MJ over Kobe
Putting Curry anywhere near those other names is a sin in & of itself😭🤡💩🌉 Most overrated star of all-time sure, but Ray Allen's starting 5 is better than any "analyst", he was an actual NBA HoF All-Star!🤯📠Honorable mention to Tim Duncan!🐐
Klay, MJ, KD, Duncan, Hakeem.
If you have MJ you're running the triangle offense, so you don't need a traditional PG. Which is why Klay works perfectly because the screens and movement that offense does is perfect for his spot up 3 point game. MJ is your focal point on offense. KD is the mismatch with his ability to shoot at every level. Duncan and Hakeem are unselfish big men, athletic, and great defenders. Size at every position, 3 point shooting, great defense, and MJ to close it out.
Official Nba2k Myteam lineup 🔥
At first when I saw Klay I just about lol. But then saw your reasoning and totally agree. That’s a deadly lineup
Step is literally still better for that role. And can keep the ball moving. He’s a more willing passer than klay. And just as selfless. He can catch and shoot just as good. As well as take deeper and more difficult shots from more places. As well as finish better. That makes no sense. Steph over klay in any situation. No hate here. I’m a ray Allen fan. But I’m sorry bro. Steph over klay in ANY situation!!
This a good list, I had Klay in mine as well...
LeBron, Klay, McGrady, Duncan, Shaq
KD can run point on the low, they double him give up the ball to MJ or Klay!
“All Nightmares and no Dreams” 😭
💀
PG Iverson
SG Bryant
SF McGrady
PF Duncan
C Olujawon
Looking at ray allen list, and yall think we should listen the actual players lmaooo
We should listen to the internet 🤦🏾♂️
LeBron can PG over Magic as the rest of lineup can stay the way it is. LeBron knows how to find the open man and Bird is a better shooter at SF so it will work great. Also not sure why they are so high on TD as Dream can easily play 3 to 5 and can play off the paint to give more room for Shaq to operate as needed. Just imagine Dream providing the weak side help D while Shaq is locking the paint. It's pretty deadly combination.
Dream couldn’t play the 3 let alone easily lol. I think Dream was a better basketball player than Tim Duncan and I agree Dream would be great at the 4 most def. Him along Shaq would be overkill. I would rather take KD over Bird. Bron running the point is a great move just would have to have Bron cut down some turnovers
Lebron at PG (He’ll still defend the sf position)
Steph at SG (He’s great on and off ball and the greatest shooter ever, he’ll defend the Pg position)
MJ at the SF (He’ll defend the sg position)
Dirk at the PF (maybe a defensive liability and ik Tim Duncan is better all around but he’d help space the floor in a major way)
Wilt at the Center position.
6th man * Magic Johnson
Thats a great team
How about this?
PG Jason Kidd
SG Ray Allen
SF Kevin Durant
PF Lebron James
C Shaq
Or Jason Kidd, ray allen, lebron, Duncan, Shaq
Either way this fits the not necessarily picking the best at every position version, but who compliment each other best
Edit - with Kobe or D Wade as a 6th man. This is also my make a team without Michael in it challenge to myself /version lol
Mine is
Stockton
Jordan
Bird
Kareem
Olajuwon
6th and 7th
Gary Payton. For a guard substitute
Dennis Rodman for his rebounding ability. Hussle , getting into opponent’s heads. And can make incredible passes. Even hit the occasional 3, also jump shot.
Head coach has to be Phil jackson. If not. Popavich.
PG - Jason Kidd
SG - Vince Carter
SF - Tracy McGrady
PF - Kevin Garnett
C - Shaquille O'Neal
Ray Allen made the shot to save……..
Nobody
Lebron scored 10 in that quarter and made the 3 before Ray Allen's 3 to get to 3.
Let's be real here.
@@jonathansykes4986 Let's not deny that his shot was literally the one that save his a$$ on that series either.
@@4ktkaram395 denial Lebron fan is cute indeed 😂
@@judyclarkson5887 he scored 10 straight before and had 16 straight in the 4th in game 7
The disrespect to lebron is CRIMINAL
All nightmares and no dreams is good😂😂
Steph, MJ, Kobe, Bron, Shaq. That will beat that no shooting old school slow playing line up of Ray. Hakeem will keep on running with Bron that could play from top of the key and can pass to Steph or MJ or drop to Shaq.
This man Ray picked Bird over LeBron James. He need to have his head checked out cuz he's sick
He knows ball
🤣🤣😭 mfka done bumped that dome frfr
I thought that at first but if magic is in the game he runs the point similar if not better than bron and bron can come in a spell magic and the offensive can still flow. So I don’t think it’s a thought of bird over bron versus spacing and play style
@@brendanbloom3366 no he don't
@@jeremiahsmith7706 yes he do. Not everyone is brainwashed by the media having MJ and Lebron shoved down their throats. Bird is the better basketball player. This guy watched bird and played with lebron. Bird is better than any perimeter player not named Michael Jordan.
😂😂😂😂that starting top 5 laughable 😂😂😂bird over Bron is insane
All time starting 5 - PG - Isiah Thomas SG - MJ SF - Kobe PF - Duncan C - Shaq
nice town? love their athletes? I instantly thought about Sterling Brown
If I had to pick a starting 5 that didn’t have any of the players on Ray Allen’s list then mine would be the following:
PG: Stephen Curry
SG: Kobe Bryant
SF: LeBron James
PF: Tim Duncan
C: Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
Not sure who would win in a best of 7 series but these two teams would go at it.
My top 5 Pg. Steph Curry
Sg. Michael Jordan
Sf. LeBron James
Pf. Kevin Durant/ Dirk nowitzki
C. Shaquille O'Neal
Pg: Magic
Sg: Kobe
Sf: LeBron
Pf: Nowitzki
C: Hakeem
