Send me mail! - whenever there is enough stuff in the mail bag to put together a subscriber mail reading and shout-out, I will put up a video for you guys! Thanks to those of you who already sent me letters and gifts !
Send me stuff to use in videos !
Yes- I actually do send stickers out to those who contribute bits, parts, stuff for my projects and pretty much everyone who I talk about or thank in my videos. If you want to send me bike stuff, things for potential use in videos or tools to review etc. (or even just cash donations ! )
mail them to me:

Don't forget on November 5th to rotate it ahead 1 hour in states that honor daylight savings time!
Ahh that's why my bike wouldnt run when I went from iowa to illinois next year
@@lundyracing next year? time machine?
Wow, I followed these tips to the letter and when I went in the kitchen I found a spoon in the fork drawer, all I can say is thanks, I’ve been looking for that spoon for ages
Such a crucial adjustment! Remember that this procedure can only be done on chain drive bikes. The amount of power produced when proper alignment is made is unable to be harnessed by final drive motorcycles. 👌👌
TheMotorcycleMD are you referring to adding pod filters to a carb is not possible on shaft drive?
what is final drive motorcycle?
Just had my Yamaha fs1e Dino-Tuned and once my filter was oriented like you show I got another 18bhp. Thanks mr Ichiban 5 out of five for you!
Oh wow, this was certainly helpful! I'm in the process of doing a major overhaul of my pod filters, and had no idea they had to be clocked!
With a proper spatulary prying device, you could modify the laminar flow turbulator duct for increased CFMs (ceiling fan metrics). That is what is used to measure downward airflow into carburetor devices.
i need to make a wind tunnel
@Ichiban Moto - I thought *_you_* were the wind tunnel or am I confusing it with wind bag? All this technical talk gets me discombobulated or perhaps it's just my *_shaft drive_* that has me confused...
Thank you :)
I've been repairing a kz650 from scratch and you have been so helpful
I'm going to have a rad brat so cheers mate
I find on clockwise circuits on trackdays where I'm mostly turning left, a tweak of the turbulator about 70 degrees to the left (09:30 hrs or 21:30 for you military types) gives me a substantial gain in acceleration out of most left hand corners. I won my PW50cc class like that last year.
Thank god for that now my bike is running so much better. Cheers ichiban where would we be without your wisdom and guidance
Laminator flow tubulator ducting alignment. Learn it, live it, love it!
That my friend deserves 5 out of 5 Ichiban Moto stickers.... Very well Defined !
I can see where this is critical for a racing application and the bad assery is off the charts. Thanks for your expert advice.
For those of us that have digital watches, could you please include the conversion charts for digital to analog time specs? BTW, loved that you demonstrated this video with the extremely rare dual bowl flux matrix carburetor used only for high end race bikes on the flat track hill climb competitions in the early 70's.
Enlightening. I love the way you always go out of your way to use the correct tool for the job!
haha! always Noel ! thanks for watching
Wow, I love the custom ultralight wood fiber laminar airflow duct insert. That must really increase your MPGs as well as your CPGs.
Nice to see you back on point with the technical stuff and not posting up shill videos sponsored by crappy tool manufacturers. Keep up the great work bud!
Good to know ! Thanks for sharing
Bad ass as always. I'm changing this on my lawn mower.
What a wealth of technical data, again I have soiled myself trying to fathom your intelligence depths.
Nice tip Ichiban Moto
Bad ass! I'll get mine adjusted today!
Hey Mr Ichi , thanks for all the great laughs. I hope you've had a good Christmas and 2018 is great for you. :)
Clever stuff, I'm thinking of making a fake pod end so I don't have to continually adjust my pods at bike shows!
Bad ass stuff, keep it coming!
you should register that patent quickly!
Nice looks amazing
Saw your posts over on Johnny’s. Hope you make some videos soon. You, Dino and Johnny are my superstars. Best.
hey thanks for watching ! someday i hope to meet them both in person too!
Nice quick Tip~
I am a bit confused. Instead of blue low temperature high flow zip-ties, you got some kind of strange metal thing holding the filter on? Do you really trust those? And what about all the horses you wont get out of the engine?
Badass!!! I turned the mark at 3 o'clock, because iam riding on my rear tire most of the time. Is that OK?
Bad ass!
Fantastic tip . Ichiban I have a 2006 Triumph Thruxton and would like to install pods . Do you recommend and if so , do I have to modify the jets in the carbs to be able to use them ? Thanks please let me know.
Orientation of L.f.t.d. for ultimate max power boost. This is sofa king BADASS!
You're a wizard!
So frigging BadAss! You can't get this kind of stuff anywhere else!
Should I leave the cap loose and rotate it when I go around corners?
Gotta love those carbs with two float bowls.
That's badass
Does the orientation need adjustment for those in the Southern Hemisphere?
森山ネート Good question! Also ive noticed water drains anti clockwise here in the southern hemisphere & at times even times tries to fall out of the plug hole. Constant problem when showering.
I used your technique on my DRZ400 but to my horror had to take a supply of rear tyres whatever I went as each time I took off the bike launched into a crazy wheelie shredding the asphalt & destroying the rear tyre.
This was an amazing buzz & got me loads of holeshots in races but took me ages to get anywhere when riding around town. I made some minor technical mods & now the beast is somewhat tamer. Thanks for the top tip.
as an Australian, I always make sure the orientation of my laminar flow turbulation duct is inverse of what's shown here, as I am so called, down-under. if I do not make this adjustment, my laminar flow is inversely aligned, which results in poor performance, namely air being pushed into the fuel lines. :O!
Has anyone other than me considered converting the entire bike to left-hand threads? Wing Nut Tools and Equipment sells a complete line of left handed tap and dyes as well as left handed sockets.
It makes your bike lean to the left, tried it, plus takes forever.
Mike Miller - This would make the bike easier to work on for left handed people.
I like to always keep 2 pairs of argyle socks on my 4 pods as I travel on long trips. It keeps my socks dry, makes the pods run right, and adds a nice custom look.
All right, but would that same setup for the Portland guys ? Wind is blowing different there.
Thank you Master !
It's much more better when ther's curve in the air.
Are you still building & supplying tools & equipment for the top end N.A.S.A space programmes?
Great info! I bet that carb really flows some fuel and air.
Are there any calibration adjustments for summer air vs winter air compression differences?
You had me at Laminar flow turbulator duct.
If Ichiban made a video commercial for a large mouthed fish, would it be Bass Ad?
I am bit confused, Do I have to rotate it according to my local time or UTC?
COME BACK! I MISS THESE VIDEOS!
Hi
I am Kumar I have just fitted new carb ( Amal mk1 concentric 26mm) and pod filter looks same as one that picture above on my bike ( 1984 Royal Enfield 350cc ) I have few questions to ask if you don’t mind and I guess as you are using Amal carb you would be able to clarify my doubt my questions are followe
1 I don’t find any difference of using Amal carb as I was using mikarb before or Am I tuning is not right way?
2 I feel the throttle cable is just a bit hard to throttle after changed to Amal carb ( have been told by mech just because of the spring in the Amal carb is high tensed one than one was on mikarb
3 after changing the airfilter from the Indian made box type to Amal pod one which gives me ‘kisk’ ‘ kisk’ noise or is that normal with that sort of filter as I never used that before
replies will be much appreciated
thanks
nice!
Does this also apply for cigarette filters?
I'm confused, where do I pour in the organic hand squeezed olive oil?,
my pod filter allows setting a variable Reynolds number by making the very same rotational adjustment but I lost the paperwork
My clutch cable broke one day at work. I put it back together with an electrical butt splice. Got me home. We miss you Ichiban. You doing ok?
i'm fine. just very cold here
Does this work on left hand drive motorcycles?
I HAVE A QUESTION, ARE THIS SPORTING FILTER WATER RESISTENTS?
How about angled versus straight air filters? Which is the best way to go?
i prefer straight for optimum laminar flow, however sometimes a frame tube or something in the way requires an angle
Cool
I got stuck one day with my belt drive so I undid my pants and took of my belt and it got me out of a JAM or is that Jelly
This adjustment is even more critical on fuel injected bikes , the LFTD sensor gets out of whack and can throw an engine warning light (and possibly put the bike in limp mode).
I heard that you only have to do this if your turn signal fluid is low.
Please make more videos!
i will ... it's just freezing out right now
What is the purpose of this carburetor open filter?
A love your videos i find then all hilaroius but the funny thing is someone not mechanically minded might actually do this the rest of see the brilliantly though out comedy side keep it up 🖒🖒
Please if anyone can help me . I have a gy6139qmb 50cc with a 50mm bbk . I rebuild it top to bottom and am looking to put a pwk 21mm carb. And k&n filter on it . Has anyone out there done it . And Thanks
Five thumbs up!
I want a video on EFI conversions
I use a sound flow meter to fine tune my laminar flow turbulator, you have to use the right tools to do the job right.
Genius
I have two carburetors, what do I do now.
Paulman50 do your velocity stacks run perpendicular to the carb body? If so you may need to adjust the pod filters in a hemispherical pattern and and torque them sequentially to achieve true laminar flow.
Done.
Knowledge explosion
make shure your pod flitor is clocked correctly to produce the proper 23.776 ghz of 3ngine power in order to riyde your motorcyckle
My velocity stack exploded when my laminar low adjustment was off
i have a carburetor screen video on youtube. protects against velocity stack explosions
You can save yourself a lot of trouble and just install a small USB powered fan near the filters to pre-redirect the laminar flow.
how about a front wheel drive motorcycle? better traction and steering...
I'll give 2017 5/5 ichabon moto stikers
Bloody hell! Who would of thought how easy it was to get such a critical detail so wrong? What happened if you have made the jump to individual throttle bodies?
the name is supposed to be turned vertical due to the fact you lean over at about a 90 degree angle to read it.
I'm just surprised that laminar flow turbulator is actually a thing
You forgot to mention that the orientation of the carburetor needs to be set first. Otherwise, BADASS!
I have so much t learn still
Teach us sensei.....
Dual Bowl CV Carbs are RARE!
42mm double pumper
Awesome, I'm going to make some fake pod ends held on with magnets,
My Missus is always having a go at me for adjusting my pod's at bike shows
and other public places.
Over the past few years I have interpolated your DIY techniques over to my friend's NASCAR with great success. In fact, we have been able to tow the car to and from a lot more races than before.
My doctor told me yesterday that I have a brain tumor about the size and shape of a wing nut dangling above my uvula. I really have no real symptoms except the I seem to fall down a lot more often than before. Otherwise, it doesn't bother me, bother me, bother me, bother me...... too mulch. Since this will be my first DIY on myself, I was hoping you could give me some tips, shortcuts and maybe tell me where I could buy a power drill like yours. Please reply quickly because the doctor said I could end up in a comma and I guess that would leave a red mark.
It would leave a short curved black mark
Could I splice that or could that affect my colon?
BAD..ASS!
Spicyyyy!!!
Yellow?
This tip gets 5 ichiban stickers out of 5
Pure chaos
He nerding out BIG Time. Lamenent flow, ha!
its rather hard to determine if you are having us on or not sometimes, thats 5 /5 bad ass acting skills
5 outta 5..
Hilarious!
warning: eating food and watching comments can cause spontaneous lack of oxygen. make sure that you don't get your alignment clogged up
hi
Bad Ass!
Facebook site called Latest Discovery uses your videos and i think they do not have permission
1:12 you weren't tightening the screw! You were just pretending. I knew it! lol
To make this work you need to reverse your battery terminals
laminar turbulator ::D
How to make videos like ichiban moto
Nothing for new years ?
just need it to warm up a bit
Im early
LOL!!!!!!!
