- "Huang Shan Gu Shu" (lit. Remote Mountain Old Tree) is a mountain in Jinggu County of Simao where 100-300 year old tea trees are growing. Huang Shan tea trees are Assamica varietal growing wild without intervention. Tea is harvested only twice a year, not 4 times a year like in many places. This gives the tea more strength, body, aroma and cha qi!
The brewed tea is pungent, full-bodied and with layered bitterness and sweetness mingling together. It can be steeped many time without losing steam. This tea is certainly good for aging and will be noticeably more delicious and textured as times passes.

Another great sheng session. Xiao's hairdo looks so adorable. Scott's squire probably taking care of his silver armour. :D
I really love to watch your videos. it feels like I'm sitting there with you guys. :-)
Glad you could join us!
The soup color and thick, oily description is definitely something desirable for me. Most likely a pickup next :)
I think you guys should rebrand all the "winners" of 2020 to XY blends. As the President of the International Association of Xiao Yao Tea Club I demand it! :P
;-)
I love it! It is on the list!
Love the wrappers this year! They look awesome!
I think so too! Thank you!
sounds like a great tea. all the yunnan sourcing brand teas ive had ive enjoyed. can you all record a video of the chenpi gong ting cake and your alls thoughts on it?
Great tea tasting guys, I am watching you drink in Canada, Algonquin park , it’s +9C. I start my day with your White tea..👍😁
Wow... autumn has arrived there. It's supposed to be 32C tomorrow here!
You guys are such a fun, silly couple. I love it. I have the 2015 spring version, which is super nuanced right now. I bought 4 cakes of that pressing and I've finished 1 of the cakes. It's been my favorite tea of yours for a long time. I store it pretty dry, but so it's aging very lowly and still has quite a lot of some green, which I actually prefer). Do you know why people have been processing this material so poorly? That's such a waste!
I don't know why we've gotten quite a few bad samples from there. Sometimes to make the samples a small amount is harvested quite early and after several months of not doing tea processing their skills might be rusty. Not entirely sure. Sometimes just the sample could be bad, whereas the actual harmonized batch that follows a a couple of weeks later will be fine. We try to get another sample after a couple of weeks, but sometimes they don't send one, or we forget.
I can imagine how annoying that would be. You'd think they'd get that it would save a lot of time if they just did it right the first time. I suppose that's just how they're used to doing things in that particular village.
How do we know which ones are your pressing and which aren’t?

Do you have any idea how something like this ages (in say Kunming)? This seems like a GREAT young sheng to drink.
LOL you got to this question eventually.
Try the 2015 and 2016 pressings which are aging in Kunming.
Do you do samples if someone doesn't know which one to buy and wants to try them before investing in a full cake? Thanks!
Yes... 25 gram samples are available for purchase for almost all of our pu-erh teas.
@@Yunnansourcing Great!👍
Why two cups each?
One is cooling while we drink the other.
