Winter moon seems sick i feel like a stax deck w alot of tax effects prolly white artifact could be a whole new deck. Man the horizon sets are such a love/hate. All the reprints are so dope.
I don't know about favourite, but I do think that Flare of Denial with Narcomoeba and Prized Amalgam will be one of the more interesting cards spoiled.
@@c0ntr4d1ct yeah but you gotta have in your hand, in dredge there should be little expectation of cards in hand once your dredging. But it could be cool in a servile shell more control-like sorta dredge idk, just a thought.

On the plus side artifact hate is quite plentiful. So if you want to beat affinity you generally can.

It's really interesting that you can exile fewer than four cards to escape Nethergoyf, for example you could escape just an Urza's Saga (Enchantment Land) + Esper Sentinel (Artifact Creature.)
Eternal witness with the fixed recurring nightmare. There has gotta be other cards too
Play Nulldrifter with dress down and doorkeeper thrull to still draw but avoid the evoke sac
Labyrinth also stops your big stuff from getting grief’d

Flare of Denial honestly seems pretty fine to me. The style of decks that have always been the scariest with free countermagic are tempo decks (play early Delver or Murktide and then Daze/whatever your way to victory), and combo decks of various stripes. Neither of those are really in the market to sacrifice a creature for a free counter spell. Saccing your Murktide to counter a removal spell seems pointless, and *most* combo decks don't have a ton of blue creatures in them.
This leaves (mostly) fair applications, like in decks like Merfolk and Wizards, which again, *seems* mostly okay.
Labyrinth seems completely busted in half and I can't wait to sleeve up some Eldrazi Tron again. Also, as an affinity fan. I'm so hype for Cannonier. I think it's the missing piece for the deck to be good again. It gives the deck a much needed resilient payoff and it just ends games in a turn or 2.
I'm thinking the bear has a LOT of synergies in Heliod Company.
Sylvan Safekeeper + Titania, Protector of Argoth is the first thing that came to mind.
Heard from another CZcamsr that Merfolk would LOVE Flare of Denial.
This is the dawning of the age of eldrazi.
Feel like the cards look nice, proper deck restrictions, but powerful cards, included Ugin's Labyrinth
Labyrinth also hides the spell from T1 Grief lol
Kudo combos with elesh norn, grand cenobite is that good? maybe.
for herigast, erupting hellkite, you can play it with the name sticker goblin, where you mind goblin for 5 or 6 mana and then you can emerge the hellkite off just the mind goblin and its mana, but i dont know if they would play it in the muxus and bombardiers shell
Would nethergoyf be good in crabvine? That was the first deck I thought of for it.
Yet another land that REALLY should have been legendary (angirly staring at urza's saga).
Satyr wayfinder effects are where i wanna start for chthonina nightmare. Feeds the gy for the nightmare, mills over bloodghasts, even buying back a solitude or grief over and over doesnt seem bad. As for winter moon fuck merfolk im just gonna have it as a karn target in the coffers deck.

nethergoyf fits into any old death's shadow deck, tarfire//seal of fire lists.
I think the only broken card spoiled so far is Labyrinth. That one seems to go against WOTC’s distaste for fast mana in Modern.
Flare will also be good, but I think the restriction will keep it from being an automatic four of in blue decks.
Blastoise is gonna be awesome in Affinity decks

i think null could be played in mono g tron as you can evoke with ur sphere or stars and dare i say winter moon too yes it hurts tron but my 1 land taps for 3 and there are ways to untap lands etc in artefacts. Ugin lab will also be in tron think that goes without saying
Could you use Scion of Draco to emerge Harigast somewhat early?
Yes. Draco more than covers the generic costs, so Harigast would be a whopping RR on turn 3.
Wish I could get that Null Elemental Blast in Pioneer so I don't get dumpstered by Niv to Light. :(
Flare of Denial+Leyline of the Guildpact busted already. Merfolk seems like it's going to be strong about to order some aether vial lol.

With the snow covered wastes and the very obvious “we’re giving tron new toys” it looks like we’re unintentionally going into another eldrazi winter.
Turn 1 winter moon seems arguably much better than chalice the void. Especially if you follow it up with thicc eldrazi. I like how restrictive the cards in the set are, but I do worry a bit about them generating non-games
