playabel in commander no other formats but in commander really good maybe 8 bucks
Good in my commander deck with Lurrus as a companion, most of these flip planeswalkers fit in there.
I don’t think so. The planeswalker side is just okay. The extort is cool, but in commander we already have Blind Obedience, which is harder to remove and applies stax. Making a food for +2 is kinda negligible unless you have really artifact synergy. Stealing a creature for -6 doesn’t always win the game.
But it’s cool to have an extort commander.
It’s interesting that all the other ones in this cycle rewarded you for having their secondary color during their little minus, but Sorin rewards you on his ult
That is an interesting observation. Maybe something was just TOO good in testing and they had to alter the card last minute.
I can't be the only one who chuckled a little at Sorin making a food token.

I run it, as my commander, no cap haven't lost a single game with it yet, more often than not, up at around 80-90 life while everyone is below 20.

This card goes stupid in my Frodo and Sam commander it does everything for deck, works perfectly with Frodo and the ring mechanic allows you to save on food and create more food tokens, remove a creature or steal a commander, or just 1 shot an opponent as a -1 🤯🤯. All while giving my live gain/drain deck access to extort😍This is the kind of card extort was designed for and I’m in love.

Besides the EDH implications, i think this card will be pretty good in limited *if* lifegain is adequately supported. But most of the other things I've noticed the set doing seem to be extremely aggressively costed, so ot might just collapse

Noting the 1B 1/4 ratio i think it's rather unique
Usually the spot for that falls between 1 and 4 on 3 so more on the 4 verge
Either way it's a valid target for a lot of cheap W/B to the battlefield recursion spells

@@QuarantinedCapricornMore specifically, extort is not what makes him w/b. The little dual-color dot on his type line on the planeswalker side does. Reminder text does not influence color identity, and extort only mentions color in its reminder text, not the ability itself

@@QuarantinedCapricorntrue but also keep in mind @seaandstone1 a 1-b 1/4 legendary extort lifelink that flips into a plus 2 to make 2 discard: draw a card after gaining 4 life is pretty brutal not only does it make life gain crazy good but card filtering in a part of the color pie that usually doesn't get that down right busted since there's plenty of of ways to manipulate that kind of stuff and add stuff like brainstorm and it makes 4 color down right a no brainer

Not very good in 1v1 formats. This will shine in Commander matches where one extort flips him.
This goober plus aether reservoir to snipe two people at once
3 turn win:
Turn 1 you play 2 lands (arboreal grazer or something else)
Turn 2 you play another land and sorin
Turn 3 you play another land and cast Illusions of grandeur gaining 20 life, flipping Sorin postcombat and minus 1 targeting your opponent for the win.
Gross. And even easier/faster with the new ramp spell that you can free cast by sacing the grazer!

@@BigBobsMTGI get the feeling from this set that this cycle of planeswalkers is all them but young. Especially on the alt arts. So it makes sense that he looks a little wimpy. Not saying that means you should like it, just that I think that's on purpose.
