Keep up the awesome work mate...
Haha definitely keeping busy
@@LawnTips hey mate, how thick can you go with tif tuf ? :) awesome vid !
@@xavierguthrie3358 tif tuf is couch and he said you can go this thick with couch and kikuyu
Long videos are way better. 20-25min like a TV episode is more enjoyable and puts the steps together on a project.
Appreciate the extra editing etc work to make the longer vids too!
X3
I love how your puppy is running around having the time of his life! Great vid as always!
Hell yeah, dad just made a beach for me! This is the life!
my cats would think i made them a huge litter box and just poop in it
That pup stole the show! Haha love it
Kikuyu baby! Woooooooooooo! The time has come! So good to see the renno kick off 👍
Never thought I'd ever care about lawns, just turned 30 and bought my first home now i understand why a lot of guys care so much, love seeing the results after a mow, now i want a more healthier looking lawn 😅
Never thought a 22 year old would be so excited to watch a lawn getting renovated 😅
What a guy! Sandpit in the front yard for the kids. 👌
YES BEN! we need more drone footage from above. looks great!
love you videos, when i get the bell notification i get excited
Great video mate. Really look forward to your updates!! Brilliant project and great piece of land to work on over coming years.
Can't wait to see how it turns out! I also only have well water, so I basically have a great lawn in the spring and fall.
I love this channel so much. Keep it up, and you’ll keep growing. Much love
Coring was the best thing I did for my shopping lawn. Almost zero water run off and no more dead patches in summer
Great work Ben, wow that lawn level did a really good job on such a thick layer of sand!
Yesssss been waiting for this badboy a while now. Cant wait to see the progression. Sick job Benny boy
Love it!! I’ve been looking forward to this video since you moved in!
Wow I’m uk based and had a diy go using 2 ton 50/50 over 330sqm perennial ryegrass and thought I was being generous !!!!!
Awesome vid. I have 1.5acres and your vids since moving have been really informative as I’m dealing with a bunch of mongrel grass. Love it!
Thank you for explaining the sand. That was one of my biggest questions. I know what to ask for now and how to sus it out. 👍
Ben, y’all have 12 acres and you got the tiniest dog ever 😂 super cute though. Those ears 😍
How could someone dislike this video love the videos can’t wait to see the end
You're giving that lawn exactly what it needed. No doubt it'll look great in a month or so. Just got done core aerating my lawn with a 25" Clausen Powerseer and it felt like it ran me over when I got finished. Maybe next year I'll go with the stand on stinger for a few extra bones.
This really works! I recently did a cut-down version of this process on my Kikuyu and 4 weeks later bang it is so good it's popping. Best it's ever been. Will do it once a year.
I came out in a cold sweat when you started scalping Ben Lol, obviously it needed it and what a great job. Being able to use the wee tractor rather than barrow must be so much easier too. Great video and the wee pup loves the sand too.
Quality vid. Nice shots. Awesome content. 👍
This video is amazing, keep up the great work!
hope this gets you motivated Stu
Thanks Mitch
Loving the ear protection! You are having too much fun, thanks for sharing it with us
Hell yeah! Been waiting for this vid!
Renoooo time. Can’t wait to see how she turns out mate !
Worth the wait, also i enjoy these longer videos
Top job , I did mine about 4 weeks ago and I was keen to see you manoeuvre the aerating machine , it’s a back breaker , not sure if it was the fast forward footage but you made it look easy !!!
Tunes on point once again 👌🏼
Reno days are the best boiii 🏖
Don’t ever think that your videos are too long. I know that they’re probably a pain in the ass to edit, but you could chuck up daily 40 minute videos of you just doing landscaping and yard work and we would watch it. You know your stuff mate, thanks for taking the time to teach your lawn wisdom 🧙♂️
Love this channel well done mate!
Soundtrack is on point!
I have a short haired brown dachshund name schnitzel aswell from the same book, classic
I watched a few of these videos the other day, and started saying “gday mate, welcome to another lawn tip vid” 🤦🏻♂️😂
learnt heaps bro
Loved that Vid mate 💚 Awesome Work 👍
Great vid mate! Love it yew! can't wait to get my reno on! just holding out until we get some warmer weather! its been soo cool down in Adelaide hills, SA.
I dream of a gator, tractor, and a ride on mower one day!! I can still live in hope! haha.
Great content Ben, I'll save this one to do a mini Reno later, I like how it's easy to follow, great vid mate. I need to get the retaining wall in first though.
Loving these longer videos!
Awesome video mate!
This man is a serious hard worker great job BTW 👍👍👍👍
Keen to see how this turns out. When we used to do this on the golf course it came back so mint everytime.
Trialed it on a Kik lawn last weekend, not as heavy,no top dress will be interesting to see how it recovers too. I’m a big fan of top dress, just had none left.
Great video. Don't worry about the length. Really enjoyed it.
Just like the council, 3 drops of rain on a newspaper and it’s pull up stumps for the day.
Soz not Soz
1 drop of rain on a tally ho and it's good buy renderers
Don't get me wrong, I'm here for the reno but mate, loving the Synth vibes on the music
Can't wait to see the end result...
Aww yeah boi!! It’s kik time baby, yeww! 🤌
Awesome vid mate.
Man the lawn is gonna look so good
Brilliant, lots of good advice thanks
Awesome stuff man, loving little Schnitty in the vids 😂 I can’t wait to see you cylinder mowing again 👍
Ahhh satisfying! Been looking forward to this.
That scalping mower was absolutely slammed, maybe they should put air ride on them so you can lay the frame on the ground with a flick of a switch 🤔
Good Job mate..Love those Drone shots u can really see the cores
Job well done!
Can't believe you did that top dress by yourself.
I did 150sqm and was cooked.
I reckon that kik will take 6 weeks to really break through.
I'm petrified you're gonna run over your dog mate lol 👌 All the best my son.
Loved the longer vid keep up the great work champion you’ll land yourself a tv gig one of these days offer is still out there for as an off sider
I am reno-ing my 100m2 1 Year Old Kikuyu with Electric mower and Bi-weekly Compost Bin lol (from 10-15cm). Looking at all these equipment has been triggering :D.
Hoping to see some part of the property done with limited domestic equipments, but these videos are very informative and satisfying.
Keep up the great work!
Nice Ben Sims.
👌👌👌
From the UK so these grasses you have are new to me. Petrified watching you rip into it so deep 😮
A little like using a koro topmaker with the scalp. But our grasses would never return without an overseed. Great vid 👍
Great video ben, love the longer format 20-25mins. Question I am about to do my lawn reno as well, I was going to put some granular fertiliser down before the reno or is it better to do after?
2mm corrugated sand works well
Also when you do the larger Reno’s you should buy a towable lawn level or a drag to spread that sand
Great video loving the longer times and the over head shots. Would you recommend hitting the grass with different herbicides all in a row before renovation or spread it out to not stress the lawn?
OMG! The doxie is soooo cute!!!
Love the drone shots
Thanks for the vid...going to look awesome...Lot of work made easier with all that machinery...Some waste concrete blocks from your local batching plant make good bunkers to store your sands and soils...
11:29 When I go to Palm Springs Ca. they will scalp the lawn just like that in the fall and reseed with a rye grass for the winter.
If I am just scarrifying with no top dress, how important is it to get seed down quickly? Will the dirt start to close up in a few days or weeks? Loving this series !
Love a Bluebird workout “Maaaan” they sux! 🤣😂🤣😂
So bad bro, woke up the next morning with a kinked neck 😂
Hey man love the channel. Your new digs are certainly going to keep you busy for a month or two. 😋
Q. My Kikuyu lawn is nowhere as big as yours but this year for some reason onion weeds have set up shop.
What's the best over the counter stuff to use to deaded them. ✌🏻
Hi Ben great vid, can you explain the difference between flail blades and the verticut blades you use when dethatching a lawn and why you would use each one? cheers
Such a theraputic watch. Simple explanations and examples and great video skills. Fantastic vidya.
How important is top dressing in the grand scheme of things, is it purely just to get lawn levels flat?
Ripper vid mate 👍
Getting me keen to do mine now! 🤣
you're so cute with the dog in the arm like circa 2001 Paris lol. great job on the lawn :)
I think you broke the 1/3 rd rule there buddy.lol
Nothing better to Reno then walk out with the next machine to find the snag digging holes in the fresh Reno 🤣 snags are the best 🤣
Is a good work, the grass is better.😁
Awesome vid learning heeps about lawn care. Just a quick question is this a yearly maintenance you will perform on the lawn?
Nicki Minaj is jealous at how thick that top dress is 👍🏼
😂
Howzit. Did you watch the game last Saturday with the fam? What a game!
Anyhoo...great vid, yet again. Can't remember, did you put down Acelepryn already, or now a good time with reno?
Last Aussie 😁. All happening at the Lawn Ranch 🤠
Your dog is so cute
@Lawn Tips Would you say it's better to mow lawns first before scarifying? At our work, we have been scarifying first, then mowing down on second lowest level (collecting all the thatch with push mowers). Once that's done we do a second run over on the lowest setting on the mowing height to scalp it. What do you think? Our turf is Santa Ana variety.
Hey Ben, always watch your videos. Just wondering what fertiliser(s) you’re going to put down? Thanks 😊
Fantastic! Thank you! Best actual, complete video on how to do this I’ve been able to find in Oz. Hoping I might get a reply to a couple of questions.
1) I have very thick empire zoysia (7-8cm to dirt level in places) and very uneven from when it was put down over 2 years ago. Can I scalp and scarify it to maybe 3cm and top soil 2cm so that 1cm is still protruding?
2) Is say 70/30 (organic soil/sand) better for leveling out deeper uneven areas or is a 30/70 still your recommended approach?
3) Your leveling rake looks the goods. What brand is it and where did you get him?
4) Love the Dachshund 👍
Cheers
Love the video's! I have a lawn that's got a bit of rock under the surface. Will a scarifier be able to handle that?
If its possible can you run through the next steps, fertiliser and so on. Also update vids would be sick
That callaway hat
Hey Ben, I'm having issues with prairie / rescue grass in my back yard. None of my post emergents herbicides seem to be able to knock it. Any suggestions on how to control it? The outbreak is quite bad, this is my first spring in this house, so must be an ongoing issue. Thanks heaps
Ben are u going to create an edge ( border ) on each end of where u have done Reno ? If u don’t does it run the risk of the lawn outside that area running into the new section ? Or is it same type ? Great video 👍
Mate you got a lot of gear!! YT must be paying the bills pretty well👍 keep up the good work
Luckily all the John Deere stuff is sponsored!
Lawn Tips ahh righto , nice one man I’ve been following u for a while, your doing great!
I am doing mine next weekend in Blayney, did you use top dressing for Pigots in Orange? Our soil isn't too compacted and am tight on time, how important is core aerating? Thanks mate, looking forward to the follow ups. We have Kikuyu as well
