I've been watching NASCAR for 45 years. I have NEVER seen a last lap move to pass so many cars like that. The fact that it made the difference from moving on to the championship 4 makes this legendary. This is a top 10 moment in NASCAR history in my opinion.
That was the single most exciting moment in NASCAR in 10 years.

I was there high up in turn 3, the craziest and most amazing finish that EVERYONE in the stands had ever seen!

This was seriously stunning and the best move one has ever seen in the history of NASCAR!!!! No one will ever be able to replicate it. No one won't ever be in a position to even need to replicate it. It's a once in a lifetime move.

Ross Chastain using a video game move in real life alone is amazing!!! Doing it while advancing to the Championship 4 and knocking out Denny Hamlin is INSANITY and I know Ross has had his run ins but NASCAR needs a driver like him right now. I'll be rooting for him in the Championship 4
It was pretty cool to see Ross do what most of us has tried in video games before. None of us have been in the position to test this theory out, but it's cool to see it pay off for once in the few times it's been tried.

Up until now, the top four most amazing things I have seen done on a NASCAR track we're all held by none other than Mr Dale Earnhardt senior. The pass in the grass, straightening the s-turns at Riverside to pass Bodine and a lap car, hanging out of the driver's window to clean his windshield under caution at Richmond, and getting back into a flipped race car to salvage points. With much respect to Dale and all of his accomplishments, those four moments are now numbers 2 through 5 of the most amazing things I've seen.
My dad was noticed something had happened but didn’t know what, so we rewinded it and it was insane what we saw. Ross was going like 40mph faster than everyone else. Big brain move right there
I am so glad I was there to witness it in turn 4. No doubt the most insane move I have ever seen in NASCAR history.

My brain could not process that last lap. When the announcers said Chastain's passed Hamlin my first thought was did Hamlin cut a tire? When they showed the replay my jaw dropped.
Eric, my dad and I saw that wild move that Ross did at my his house and our jaws were FLOORED when Ross Chastain did that crazy move. I think that Chastain reached full hero status when he pulled that wild move out of his pocket like he did and that was Bad to the Bone. Have a good week, my man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was in between turns 1 & 2. I was watching Bell cross the line. All of a sudden, I see the 1 out of the corner of my eye come flying into the picture. I originally thought Hamlin had put him in the wall. I had no idea what had happened until I saw the replay. And I even thought the replay was fast forward in how fast he went through there. It took me 5 or so minutes to relize what Chastain had just done.
I was in q section in turn 1 ,saud the same thing,I was pissed, then all of a sudden they said Chastain was in,best finish ever in a race,and it wasn't even for the win,my driver now is Chastain hands down

This is one of those things we're going to be talking about 20 years later. And when you tell the story of Denny vs Chastain... it's totally going to be a highlight people are gonna forever talk about
When I saw that clip of Chastain riding the wall, I literally thought someone had edited that video and made it look like he was going that much faster than everyone else, that was INSANE! Guess we'll have to nickname him "The Madman" or something like that!
Eric's face at the beginning was literally me too. That was the greatest move and finish I have ever seen, period! Never in my life have I screamed my lungs out at a NASCAR race in my entire life. Ross is an absolute legend for this and single handedly stunned us all more than we ever have been! 🍉👍👍

I was in the infield during the race today and was standing inside turn 3 on the last lap. I was looking at Elliot and others drive by when I see CHASTAIN BULLDOZE on the way. Can't believe I saw it up close and personal. GOAT move.

I was watching the F1 race at the same time and I managed to catch a stream for the final 20 laps and my jaw hit the floor on that last lap, I was flabergasted. I have never seen anything like that in my life. That is possibly the single greatest thing I've ever seen and ever will see.
This is a Championship 4 that I couldn't have predicted at the start of the season.
Elliott as the big regular season leader, Logan ever so quietly making it, Trackhouse in year 1 making the championship and Bell taking the next step and becoming an absolute legit contender.
I'm so happy how open this C4 feels and I can't edit to see who gets that beautiful cup
Trackhouse is a 2nd year team but still amazing that such a new team will go from startup to contending for the championship so fast.
This will be remembered as the absolute best racing move that anyone has ever seen in their life, Brilliant!!!

Thats all I can say too. Bell winning and Ross doing that....both not the most statistically likely. Hamlin actually had a pretty good playoffs. Had a tooon of top 5s, but needed a win to move on here.

no, definitely not doable with the previous generations. the unibody construction of the NexGen cars make this possible... if you tried this with the Gen 6 or older cars they would either flip or disintegrate.
That was so much better than the spring race. Really happy Bell won and Chastain’s move was one of the most insane moments in Nascar I have ever seen
The race sucked ass. Only the last handful of laps provided any actual entertainment.
@@HYBORIANCOMICS after 50 laps into a run it looked close to normal Martinsville. Stage 1 had more green flag passes for the lead than the entire spring race
It wasn't good for Martinsville. But just as a race, unlike the spring race, it was a good race.
I kinda have to agree yes the finish was especially the last corner was crazy and while the race was slightly better (though that was mostly due to the finish) then last time overall the race itself wasn't that good.
I'll be laughing when Nascar makes this a rule next year since they wanna screw Harvick, Hamlin and Busch this year

Denny and Chastain restarted side by side. Denny drove away and left him, he even passed enough cars to put a cushion between him and Chastain in the points, including Byron, then this happened..... hate it for Denny really.

When i was a kid, i played a Bill Elliott racing computer game. The wall ride was my strategy at Bristol. I think i lapped the field every few laps as long as i didn't smash into someone. Never thought i would see it used in real life.
The finish by itself is astounding. Cannot believe it worked and makes for one of the best round finales EVER.

I've been watching NASCAR and motorsports in general since 1993 and that, sir, takes _all_ the cakes.
Move aside, Pass in the Grass and _The_ Pass (Alex Zanardi in The Corkscrew) - you've both been upstaged by far.
I saw my First Race at Hickory Speedway back in 1972 and I've been a die hard fan ever since. Been to many many race's and watched the rest on TV and I cannot remember a move like Ross Chastain pulled off today at Martinsville or Anywhere. Awesome Move. Glad to see Bell get another clutch Win 🏆.

I literally had no words when I saw this. Craziest thing I ever saw in Nascar.
In the years I've watched NASCAR, I've never seen anything like it. Chastain's maneuver was total madness, Hamlin didn't expect that. On the other hand Christopher Bell is another who has managed to recover being in the worst situation, the fight for the championship is going to be interesting.

My grandpa, who hates modern day nascar, got a huge laugh out of it. Especially with us waiting to see if Denny was just gonna run his mouth or put chastain out. This was a huge moment and seeing Bell emotional got to him. The ending of this race brought more emotion out of my pawpaw than a race has in 15 years.

Most of my championship four pick will be racing for championship. I originally had Bell making it but after homestead I gave up on Bell thought it might be Byron and Hamlin making it in. Congrats on the win Bell and Bell fans you have a good driver. Did not expect him to do it twice in one season. I have two picks on the champion Bell and Elliott but watch out for the 1 of Chastain
