this is why they went crawling back to Wesley with "cameos", because they are DEI ESGing that 💩and Mahershala Ali wants it to be better than Snipes movies and Disney is not having it because Larry Fink's money comes first, Mahershala is going to get the boot and Disney will continue with Wesley Snipes and f it up with some feminized humiliating plot because WS is desperate and will allow it.
Just like Ron Pearlman as Hellboy, Jim Carry as BigHead/The Mask, Robert Downy Jr as Tony Stark, Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and Brandon Lee as Eric Draven/The Crow.

How hard is it to write a Blade movie? Like all you need is to make blade a ass kicking vampire hunter with Mia Goth as the main vampire villain it’s that simple it’s not Rocket Science.
Because they cailed at ass kicking, they need Blade to be sensitive to Transelvanian American people and their VWMC allies or those who identify as vampiric fluid. Plus a man cant beat or get the upper hand of a woman so vamp Mia Goth cant get penetrated by Blade with his big stake

They're trying to water this down to PG & keep making a mess. The star will be in a wheelchair by the time they're done with it. They keep trying to introduce his daughter Bloodline & make him obsolete. Go back to the first two films & build off of that. Get Guillermo Del Toro to consult at least.
Yup, Del Toro and Snipes...he knows what's cool..these losers don't know whats interesting...They can intro his daughter down the line...its too soon for that...First focus on blade and then blade wife and then they can go on to blade kids...just let del toro know how it needs to connect with the MCU and then leave them alone...M' Ali is a good replacement casting but they should still try to use multiverse here and get snipes involved.

He's under contract and probably already paid ( at least part of his salary), which means he would have to pay it back when he walks. Plus, Disney could sue him for breach of contract & even blacklist him.
That being said, he actually threaten to walk away from the movie if they don't re-write the movie, which they did. And now they did another re-write!

At this point they should be paying him for being on retainer for a film that was announced years ago.
I can only surmise that the current trend of rewrites in media is because the message that they want to push across the board isn't quite palatable enough for the average person to accept blindly just yet. The story for Blade is quite simple: half breed human vampire hates vampires and wants to destroy their evil blighting humans. Rewrites says to me that they are trying to form the message in a different way instead of just giving a decent simple good versus bad action film..
"...Ali is in total creative control now..." even taking that rumor with a huge (and multiple) grain(s) of salt perhaps that was the *only* way Marvel Studios was able to keep him on the project? They essentially stepped their disaster factory several steps backwards and essentially said "fine, YOU make it."
As you said, it can't be *this* hard to make a Blade film. I know many have said it but just give us a vampire equivalent of The Raid; Blade works his way through hordes of vamps in a single location, load the film with practical effects and bring in the best fight choreographers out there and boom. Done. Have the main villain at the core of it escape at the end and run off to inform Dracula that Blade is onto them and now you've set up a sequel.
Blade is not difficult to write for. The problem is that they want to insert their ideas and messaging in it. It's like trying to mix oil and water.
Ellen Page will be cast as the new Blade.

It’s one of the easiest Marvel IP to make yet it’s having the most difficult because they want to make everything but Blade film.
It's simple. Marvel need to do another Collab film with Sony and us the Blade story line from an episode of the Spider-Man cartoon. It starts with a decent Morbius struggling with guilt over feeding on humans and Spider-Man is attempting to help him with a cure. But Morbius is being hunted down by Blade, who himself is being hunted down by The Punisher. Done, simple plot. And how much money have Marvel burned through so far with rewrites?
We have the original Blade Trilogy ! Who the hell needs this crap. They can't get their crap together.

They're probably introducing a male villain so that Mia Goth can be a 'misunderstood' character and the real bad guy is the straight white man. Disney can't have a woman being evil
The original Ben Hurr they were writing the script over again the day before the shooting.
It's not number of rewrites, it's not number of writers. It's fucking quality.
I got a complete picture from trustful sources.
First script: Blade appears at the end of the movie and says to his diverse and much better daughter: "girrrl, you are so much better than me, I won't stay here because I will just slow you down." and then fs off.
Second script: Blade is a fourth character who appears in several scenes but not in the main ones to make sure the audience is not distracted from watching amaze balls smart beautiful and brave female blade.
Third script: Blade gets a solid role, he even assists amaze balls stunning and brave bestest and realest blade.
Second script: writers fired because they refused to elevate old blade even a step higher. They said it would destroy the original idea about blade leaving and transfering the blade to his daughter. Anyway, blade and amazing female blade fight vampires and defeat the final boss. At the end blade dies because who needs an old masculine man in a world where women don't need no men. This script was not approved because franchise owners had plans for more blade movies and were afraid that people won't watch it without the old, inferior blade.
Final script: I could only get info about the ending. Blade and 5 of his amaze balls female costars hold hands and then he says, we did it together, I would not be able to survive on my own. I owe my life to these amazing and much smarter, much stronger women. I am nothing without them. The end.
The preproduction costs alone must be high

I think at this point, the best thing to do, is scrap everything and start over from scratch, get rid of the current people trying to produce it and fast track this under a person who actually knows what they are doing, its very simple, much like Castlevania is a simple story about people who primary hunt vampires and monsters

Of all the genres, vampire movies should be nearly impossible to screw up. They've made hundreds since the silent days. There have been arty vampires and cheesy vampires. They had the originals too. Did they try to inject Woke into it? Blade telling someone they've got to do better? Blade's the baddest black stud since the original Shaft, and trying to tone down the alpha dog usually doesn't work. It's going to be fascinating to discover the true story if it ever gets out...

I wonder if Mahershala Ali is getting paid a smaller amount just to be attached to this movie. That would explain why he's fine staying on, might as well get paid for doing nothing. Authors can be in a similar situation, they can option their books multiple times as long as a movie doesn't get made. The author gets paid, they don't have to worry about someone making a mockery of their work, and once that contract expires they can sell it again, sometimes to the same studio. Oddly enough, when a movie gets optioned but never made is the best case scenario for an author.
