When the MCU started it was all about passion and determined pressure to succeed ... There was no inclusivity mandates to think about ... it was just the will to make the best versions of their characters.

The time for this movie was right after Endgame, when everyone was still unsure about the future of the MCU, but still hyped up from the Infinity Saga.
I don't think the energy from the audience is there, and anything they produce will never be able to escape comparisons with the original Fox movies.

It's immensely stupid. This means all Marvel films in development will be garbage. Whoever made this hiring decision needs to be fired. What could have been an excellent film series was destroyed by this writer (and the direction style). Odds are this writer won't even research the X-Men other than to fast forward through the previous movies. No wonder Blade will never finish. The smart move would be to hire the people who made Dredd to direct the new Blade movie. They understand action, fight sequences, and how to direct films. As far as the X-Men film, it'll be boring and bad. Thank you Mr. H.
Blade gonna be the nail in their coffin. It has a direct comparison that's already diverse. So people will see VERY clearly what folks mean by the message as it'll be more obvious what a 'diverse' non-'woke' film is vs one that is agenda filled.

I recall so many MCU fanboys giving me crap for saying Marvel isn't going to do any better, or maybe even do worse than Fox with the X-men. Like marvel right now deliberately wants writers and directors who haven't read the comics.
The tone of MCU is also really unserious. Fox allowed the stories to actually be serious and feel like there were real stakes. And it's going to be "female focused", because... Reasons.
While ratings could be better. X-men 97 is what X-men should’ve been the whole time and it was created under the MCU

Also the Fox movies weren’t all great. They still cranked out things like X-men Origins Wolverine and Dark Phoenix.

I don't think Disney had much a choice but to hire this guy. At this point, every single Marvel movie since Endgame has been a financial flop, the quality of the movies has dropped considerably, and I've even heard from a few sources on CZcams that many actors and directors have no interest in working on Marvel projects.
Because of tall of this, Disney is likely having to scrape the bottom of the barrell to find actors and directors, which is a sign that the movies are going to suck even worse moving forward.

I don't think Disney/Marvel will ever get back the interest and excitement their was for the movies leading up to Endgame and part of that is due to RDJ as Iron man .

I honestly had never heard of this Assassins Creed move until this video. Doesn't sound like I missed much.
Honestly, the way things are going, I don't expect we'll see the new X-Men movie inside the next 7 years. Probably longer.

Macbeth was an adaptation as well (and a pretty bad one at that-if you're looking for a good Macbeth adaptation look no further than the one Polanski did back in the 70's), so basically Assassin's Creed is the only feature film he's written. Also remember when people would say X-Men absolutely needed to go back to Disney 'cause the Fox films were bad? We've come a long way.

Michael Lesslie isn’t a bad writer, he was just dealt a bad hand when it came to working on Assassins Creed with two other to adapt the game Bill Collage & Adam Cooper who’ve written some bad scripts like Allegiant. Lesslie’s recent success with Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes with Catching Fire writer Michael Arndt showed he can make a good story if you give him someone competent to bounce off of and if the material itself can translate to film like when he wrote the script for 2015’s Macbeth

Another writer who is about to soil his portfolio. The fact that X-Men 97 underperformed despite being a good show, shows us that the Disney brand is damaged and the only reason the new Deadpool movie has a chance of performing well is because of Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds star power and control over this movie. After that it is back to current Disney's default settings of mediocrity and flops.

To be honest, at this point any connection to Disney gives me pause. The only thing I have any excitement for is the Alien Romulus film, but the Disney taint is sitting there at the back of my mind. That is the brand legacy now, at least for me.

To be fair to him, David Hayter(Voice artist behind Snake from the Metal Gear Solid video games) wrote the screenplay for the first X Men Movie, and that movie turned out good. So maybe there's hope. Perhaps?

Yes the hunger games the ballad of songbirds and snakes film was based on a book so i agree it not a good look to hire a writer with very little experience in writing for a x men film.
Given two out of the three films this writer ki s most known for are adaptations maybe it's because he'll be easy to deal with and not give any push back. Myself I saw the Fasbender version of Macbeth that is mentioned I wanted to like but really just kept asking from a creative choice, why would you do that? Assassin's Creed wasn't crazy about. Hopefully this is a writer that during that gag kept writing either on teams or books to hone those skills and improve. Just have to wait.

No Mr.H, an X-Men movie didn’t sound positive, nothing Disney puts out is positive. Not X-Men, not Dead pool, not Doctor Doom.
This doesn't necessarily mean the script or film will be bad. I understand this isn't a selling headline, which Marvel needs desperately, but it doesn't mean disaster right from the jump.
