Sarah, I love your home. It is so warm and cozy. I’ve never thought of your house as primitive but maybe my definition of primitive is different but I know I love all your old pieces. I love the mixture of old and new and I like your plant stand. Old chairs are great as a plant stand. I enjoyed this video.

I too like mixing old with some new. I like different styles of decor too, but I mainly stick to my French country style. My mom has decorated in a primitive style for years. I like primitive, cottage, farmhouse, Shabby Chic , and even Victorian etc. 🤗

I think if you love it, use it. You don’t need a particular style. You do a lovely job of decorating and Vivian has real talent. Smoky is always good for a chuckle!

Your daughter's paintings are amazing. She is a very talented young lady. It is hard for me to imagine how someone can sit down and paint something so beautiful in so little time. I can barely draw a stick figure.
Sarah…you hang pictures exactly like I do! Point and stretch! Paintings look so good and your little girl is so talented. I love your design sense ..a touch of modern keeps it fresh and new. May I suggest placing something inside your lovely pot to raise up the snake plant. The plant will like it better!

As soon as its a little warmer it will go outside where it thrives. I absolutely love your style! Please don't change. What a joy to see Vivenne's artwork. Your family has the "art" gene! We live in an 1898 Victorian home, nothing fancy. We call it our country Victorian. I love history of older things. Someone's chair wore out....they cut a piece of wood to make it useable again, probably from neccesity. Simple elegance in your gallery of beauty. Love from Texas❤

The chair is great, but I just had a cool thought watching you trim straw. Take a somewhat damaged doily, and tack to underside of chair seat to cover and hold up that straw. Your cat may try to shred straw or doily. On that thought, does he/she dig in houseplant dirt? My cats all did!

Careful with he snake plant I scratched my cornea on one once and had to go to the emergency room. It was very painful and took a while to heal. Love the acorn posts on the chair/plant stand.

Hi Sarah, I've been waiting for a new visit. Love everything you do. As for primitive vs. modern, I'd lean toward primitive but an occasional modern piece in the mix A OK. That's the good thing about modern, it fits in well with almost everything as long as it isn't overdone. Also, if it's modern check to be sure it's solid wood. Often, there's MDF and engineered wood, etc., which really bothers me. Can't wait for the next visit. You really make home a sanctuary.
I had decorated with primitive for a long time, but then I decided to give everything prim away and go modern. I hated it, and now I’m back to buying prim again. Love your videos like this one.

Love the little fern (not an asparagus fern). Since you are new to plants there are free apps available for identifying various plants (house plants and outdoor plants). These apps are easy to use and only require a picture to identify any number of plants. Once you identify them you can “google” how to care for them.
Your house looks really beautiful and cozy, you definitely have a eye for interior design as does your daughter. She has a gift of painting, if she has never had any art lessons, it's a natural gift. Don't question your style, you love what you love and you should do what YOU love in your home, it's your sanctuary...trends come and go. Decorate for YOU.

Although primitive is not my style I do like old pieces mixed in. They give character to a room..plus some history. Your plants appear to be thriving..so much light. I like smaller paintings..you can tuck them many places and look nice displayed on a small easel. You could probably fix the seat of the chair if you ever want to.🌼

That store really does have some nice things! I loved that scale, been looking for one and i would have loved to score that piece!! The white cabinet was gorgeous, the ornate details..i love the primitive pieces too! I only have one piece of primitive furniture, a large step back cupboard from the mid 1800's and its my favorite piece i own! I'm looking for A few more old kitchen chairs, i have an old wood table & want to put different chairs instead of matching chairs.. the one you bought is beautiful! I have a couple of really old children's chairs i use for plant stands, very cute! Ohhh my, Vivians paintings are just beautiful.. so very talented!! I know you're proud, as I know I would be😊 I love mixing all styles, I'm acclectic, if i love it i use it, find a way to make it work! I use very little modern, I've almost replaced any modern pieces with something old.. except my main furniture of course! Everything looks very pretty.. and always enjoy your videos!😊
I love the chair (plant stand) it works beautiful, The art work is wonderful. I love adding in primitive with any style my home is I would say more traditional but I have a lot of older pieces. I really like your small desk that you hung the seaside pictures above, was that a thrifted find. I also love plants and I am always struggling to try to find how to take care of them or when to replant, what soil what kind of light. I find I sometimes just ignore them? I also came up with a method of watering which I use a chop stick to go into the dirt and when you pull it out if it is dry I water? Not sure how well the method is going to work but for now they all look really healthy.
I love your touches of modern mixed in with the primitive. It keeps your home looking relevant and inviting. Vivian is certainly growing in her talent and skills. Another lovely video. On a side note; what happened to the green velvet chairs you had in your living room? I notice they’ve been gone for a while.
You hang pictures like I do. Nails in mouth, hammer just a reach away and eyeball it. Love Vivian’s work.

For your average house plant, they need watering once a week. The snake plant in your large pot can go two weeks or more without water. Don't overwater this plant.
