- I've been wanting to try my hand at mixing my own shimmer inks for the longest time and it is SO MUCH FUN.
Also, sorry for mispronouncing 'macassar' a million times. I should've googled how to pronounce it before filming, not after... 😅

Thank you for sharing!! I love shimmer inks!!!
Very nice. I really enjoy mixing inks. I have never used these. I wonder how they perform in a pen. Thank you for sharing
Love to try these shimmers, I hope I can try and/or buy them on my next penshow. I would love to make a grey or a black with violet and silver shimmer
That sounds like a beautiful combination! ✨
I'm glad you tried these, I've been curious ever since I saw them on Cult Pens' site. Will you be trying these in fountain pens to see how well they write, do they clog, etc.?
Macassar plus shimmer looks a lot like J. Herbin's Caroube de Chypre, which is one of my favorite brown inks. I wouldn't have expected the relatively small amount of gold added to it to bring Macassar around to that warmer brown hue.
Thank you for watching! I just googled Caroube de Chypre and they DO look similar, nice! I'm always surprised by how much difference in perceived hue the shimmer can make. A gold shimmer can make the entire ink look more warm, whereas a silver shimmer does the exact opposite. I'll definitely try them in pens as well, and will possibly make a video or post on that at some point.
