His tail wagging and his little, happy trot at the end was so adorable! It hurt my heart to watch him in pain but it was all worth it so he felt relief and didn’t have to get surgery.

Whew! Mission painfully accomplished! Look at him now. No sign of discomfort at all. I started to cry. It was difficult to watch. Us animal lovers are willing to do what it takes to do the right thing for our babies.

That crying baby reminded me of my years of dog grooming. I wouldn’t continue to put a distressed dog under those circumstances, without sedation with sharp instruments. Too many times groomers get angry, and push it, then the dog ends up injured/scared of groomers. In this is situation, you were able to help this little guy, I loved seeing him back up and playful. ❤

I experienced this between 2 or three times a week with hips and knees. It's a crazy level of pain but learnt to do it myself. Kisses to the doggie. Poor puppy.

Always hard to see an animal in pain but glad to see little Shay is all better. My heart broke when he just collapsed on the ground after the first attempts to pop his joint back in the socket, he was just wiped! Glad this one had a happy ending 😊

The compassion ❤ is off the charts. I could feel the horrible extreme pain in this little puppy but having the ability to heal with out any surgery is the real miracle of 1 man's hands. omg 😥you just saved this poor animal from unnecessary surgery!! i mean this definitely hurt him but dogs are resilient creatures. i probably would of been in tears if i had to hold my animal down during something like this
G030… it is difficult to hold but it is difficult as well to adjust such cases. Glad he is now 100% healthy.

I'm so happy for his outcome. He couldn't hide the pain of the adjustment but he didn't go into full flight mode. He only did the fight mode very briefly while the pain was at its most intense and then he settled when you stopped pulling. He never showed fear towards either of you. He just screamed in pain because he couldn't hold it back because the pain overtook him. That will forever hurt my soul but I am happy for him to have the head of his femur back in place and to not have to go through surgery right now. If the tendon damage is bad enough he may end up needing surgery years ahead in the future but this way we know that is only a maybe.

Boy, that must have been hard on your heart, Dr. Doug. I’m glad the owner had enough confidence in you and saw a difference enough to continue. With animals, sedation would be much less traumatic, but you didn’t have that preparation this time. I am very glad that the outcome was worth the wear and tear on everyone’s hearts. 🌈💜🇺🇸 Ps. It would be great if you could have a collaborative relationship with a vet to sedate/give local anesthesia in the future for such attempts? Just a thought. 💜
I know that your heart is in the right place! Sedation also has risks. In the U.S., the chances of getting another vet to accept just giving an animal sedation, without them performing the procedure is next to zero. They may even get sued for allowing such, without proper training and certification. Animals do die because they don't handle the medication well. Doc, you did a GREAT JOB!!! I'm absolutely thrilled that the little guy was doing SOOOO much better in such a short time! May he soon forget this traumatic time!! Shay's Mom was a real trooper, as well!! Blessings to ALL!!

Oh my goodness, brave boy Shay went through so much during his session. I honestly was as confident as his Mommy that you would help him, but I had to turn the volume off for this one. My granddoggie Noodle is always nervous going to the doctor's office especially getting her nails trimmed. So each time we go, we give her three quarters of a pill that helps her relax. I don't understand why the facility that suggested surgery didn't write a prescription for Shay's pain while his mommy was deciding what to do? He could've had one prior to coming to your office.

Wow! Just wow. I was gritting my teeth at one point. Poor guy, but so much better than surgery. What a wonderful job Dr. Willen!
Extremely intense. It had to cause him pain just moving let along if he bumped that leg. A few moments of pain resulted with a better outcome once it went into place. Hopefully,it won't become displaced again. Great job Dr.
