- đŠ About This Video:
Yesterday I have my body an ultimatum. I removed all the pillows and cushions I'd been using for sleeping except two and told my body "This is all you get for the night. Deal with it!"
â¶ïž About This Channel:
I've always been a storyteller. I've written hundreds of short stories and multiple books, but I always sensed I was meant to share a different story.
MY story.
I wasn't sure what that was until I was diagnosed with STAGE 4 Alveolar Soft Part Sarcoma (a SUPER rare type of cancer for which there is NO CURE).
I decided to embrace my motto of Living Out Loud and started sharing my journey in vlog format.
This is my story. Real. Raw. Unfiltered.

My father in law used to sleep in a recliner to avoid feelings of suffocation.
I used to do that when I was young (back when I had asthma). Unfortunately, I don't have a recliner now.
You got this don't give up.
Thanks đ. Much appreciated.
I am glad you have found a solution to sleep better. Sending prayers and best wishes from Normandy France.
Thanks đ. Much appreciated.
IÂŽm glad you find way out of insomnia. You have good fighting spirit. My best wishes to you!
Thanks đ. That's very kind of you.
Those of us praying for you will help the symptoms you give us. We want your comfort. Prayer will hold you up. Love ya.
Thanks đ. I really appreciate it.
You may be on to something. I believe our bodies are most receptive to our own voices. Let us see how this works out long term.
So far it seems to work well. Time will tell how effective it is in terms of not FEELING tired.
†sleep is good for health
Youâre amazing and I love watching to you because you inspire me. I can relate to your demands on the body because I have issues too & I have to have this mindset everyday. Some days are better than others and some are really challenged.
You look amazing today & more rested. Great shirt too
That told your body what for ! I love your humour and attitude when dealing with life.
Thanks for your kind words đ. I'm glad this technique can help you get rest, even if not as much as you deserve.
Bless you †youâre looking better today from being able to sleep more. I love your humour about your pillows, you gave me a much needed laugh today, so thank you for that đ
Iâm sending you so much love and positive, healing prayers always xxxđđȘâ€ïž
Hahaha. Glad I made you laugh. We all deserve a good laugh every once in a while.
Getting a good nightâs sleep, especially when youâre ill, is everything. It means you can think clearly again ⊠and I hope you have less pain as well. Prayers for peace of mind and less pain. â€ïžâ€ïžđ
Absolutely! Sleep is super important!
My best friend took cbd oil for her cancers she coped well and assisted her with pain and with sleep.
I'm glad your friend found something that works for her. That's great to hear.
Good for you. I hope this works for you. Nice shirt, by the way!!!
Thanks đ. Much appreciated.
You know you. If it brings you comfort to try something different then you won't wonder what if I would of tried that. May your day be a great one and more good days to follow. đâ€

Sounds like you got REM sleep! I totally understand the lack of sleep with my disease. When I do get dome periods of sleep, hours, I feel better even if Iâm not 100% in the morning. So good for you! So happy for you. Mind over matter! đđđ
Thanks đ. Much appreciated.
Good luck. This has lots of possibilities if it works. Hope you get a few nights restful sleep at least.
Thanks đ. I've slept a good 12+ hours these last two night. Hopefully it helps.
Ack! Two pillows! I couldn't. I must have three. One for under my head, one between my legs (thin) and a huggy pillow (full). Having these three keeps your spine straight if you are a side sleeper and relieves any pressure or strain on your hip joints and back. It also keeps your sternum open, not twisted or mushed, that's why the huggy pillow is a must. It isn't a pretend partner, it's for that reason.
Glad to hear you were able to get a pretty good nights sleep. God bless.
I usually sleep with a VERY thin pillow only, so for me having two (one thin and one thick) is a LOT. Glad you have a system that works for you.
Hope the day goes well for you and so does the night. I am interested to see If this solved or at least improves your sleep issues
It's hard to tell. I'm able to sleep more (slept 12+ hours the last two nights), but I'm still tired. Maybe it will just take a while for my body to recover enough for me to not FEEL tired.
@@LivingOutLoud-LWS4C I think so too

If this works you can try this with food too, to address the nausea.
Unfortunately, it doesn't work for food. Whenever I try to force it to eat, it causes me to throw up. I threw up twice yesterday even though taking anti-nausea medication.
Have you tried sleeping prone, I.e., on your stomach? youâve mentioned often how sleeping supine is difficult, and side sleeping leaves you tossing and turning. The prone position is best for people with respiratory issues, due to the shape of our lungs. âProning allows the back of your lungs to expand fully. It can also help you cough up more of the fluid in your lungs and can improve the way oxygen travels through your body. This can lead to better breathing overall.â Please donât be offended at the suggestion. just wondering if youâve discussed it with your nurse.
You're 100% right. I started sleeping on my stomach shortly after being diagnosed because I noticed it helped me breathe better. Unfortunately, my current breathing issues makes that impossible for now. Hopefully soon.
Like your shirt.
Thanks đ.

The chemo I'm on made me powerless. They said it's a light chemo.
Either its weak either I'm weak.
Did I mention mouth sores made me blend every meal I eat?
And the cancer isn't even symptomatic in my case yet
FFS.
I'm sorry to hear that. Chemo is definitely intense. Hopefully things will improve and you no longer need to deal with these issues.
I think your fed up. I can understand that.
Hahaha. Yup!
Hello from UK Bournemouth. Paul.Good to here you positive plans to stop sleep deprivation.

What treatment are you receiving apart from the radiotherapy is there any type of targeted treatment immune type therapy for this type of disease what do your doctors think .
I get an immunotherapy treatment every three weeks. Radiotherapy is just temporary.
@@LivingOutLoud-LWS4C good luck I hope you get better
Answer as you feel comfortable but do you have a pain management plan? Have you considered upping any pain meds to get u thru this tough time?
Nope. Didn't even know a pain management team was a thing until people started mentioning it in the comments. Luckily, the pain is almost completely gone.
@@LivingOutLoud-LWS4C omg what great news! If it ever flares again, donât hesitate to reach out for additional pain support bc Iâm sorry all that pain is too much to bare for the average person. Luckily you are đ-ed, but still everyone has their limits
Your positive energy will get you through this.đâ€âïž
Thanks đ. I hope you're right.
Be very careful about food, I lost the ability to eat do to covid and developed an autoimune diasease that is destroyng ne worse than cancer, eat and be grateful that you can eat also tske care if your tweth they can kill you faater than cancer!
I'm sorry you're going through this. Sounds really intense.
You must eat as much digestible food as possible, time is ticking away, plants food are at least 3 times less digestible than whatever from animal world. How were you resting before cancer ? Because i know lot of people sharing "cancer journeys" on youtube eating so called "healthy diet", very often are vegans. Its suggesting me, its not so healthy diet. And i know some few persons living very healthy lifestyle, excercising, healthy diet, but they were lacking their sleep. And your body makes much stronger antioxidants then this from diet, for example melatonin (sleep hormone), very strong antioxidant. And gluthatione, uric acid etc. Even animal cholesterol is antioxidant.
My brother got his cancer diagnosis about 6 months after becoming vegetarian/ vegan.
Jenny Apple was a vegan.
Gods laugh at our plans...
