25:40 - the look of old trucks being cool, you've fallen in love with this one - that time mark is when "it" hit me. That thing is gorgeous and damned cool! I think those tires are perfect for the lift and body proportions, let alone the function they add and all that ground clearance!!
Get yourself some lockers next and really unlock its potential as an offroader! 👍🤘

I think you may have a broken body bolt up front on the left. Because the body shouldn’t move separate from the bumper like that. Notice on the rock pile that the right side doesn’t separate.

I've always loved these old Traildusters it all goes back when I was a kid and seen them on the streets back then in the 70s and early 80s. They look a whole lot better than Dodge has now.
The trailduster is probably my favorite on the channel. I love the old Mopar trucks because of my uncle having 3 of them when I was growing up. Hopefully one day I can get myself one to build as a tribute to him. Hope to see more content on this.

Awesome! What a difference! Looking forward to seeing the next video. That rear bumper is such an eyesore might be time for replacement.
Only thing missing is a 102" Steel Whip on either Rear Quarter...even if you DON'T have a radio, but if you do get one, the ideal for that application is a Uniden Pro 510E...great little radios they are...and not a lot either (under 100 bucks)
Dylan that is a really great job and lift kit. Can't wait to see the camping trip videos.
Two things to remember with lift kits is driveshaft angles and spline engagement. Follow the recommendations. You don't want the driveshaft falling out, binding up or breaking the u-joints because someone wanted to go cheap and not get longer driveshafts or check the angles.
you can put 2inch spacers in the transfer case and rear of transmission to ease the angle i had a 73 trail duster 318 three on the tree still alive today at a hunting camp best 4/4 out of 4 i owened

I was always told up to 4" lift and then you need to replace driveshafts. There should be enough on the slip yolks to hold up. I have an Explorer with a 4" lift and it uses the stock shafts (Yes it gets used on some pretty serious trails. Look up Spring Creek in Colorado). A lot of it has to with driving style as well. And Dylan the Dodge looks great. I personally wouldnt have went with the tire decals, but it does look good. Are deeper gears in the future (lockers and the such as well)?

@@sabinwills7687 to check the info i was saying take the bracket bolts out of the transfer case and with the aligator jack let it down two inches and watch the slip yolks go back in. drive line service in the 70s did this lol

Love the TD, this episode reminded me of when I put my rough country lift on my '88 Ramcharger in high school. I used to camp out of the back of it, I'd pull the rear seat, throw down a sheet of 3/4" plywood I had cut to fit, then I layered moving blanket, deflated air bed, moving blanket. Once I got to camp, shuffled my clothes to the front seat, pulled my chair, cooler, and other supplies, I'd blow up my air bed between the fender wells, spread out my sleeping bag and pillow and I was good to go.

Love seeing a young buck like yourself saving all these old Mopars. Never understood why the d/s forward rear spring bolt was installed so that the tank had to be dropped. Always been that way as long as the tanks have been under the trucks.

This turned out great I think. I hope it's brought some newly refreshed interest back into this old trail duster. You should paint those wheels something other than leaving them black. A set of lunch box lockers would really help it work out in a way that matches up with how aggressive it looks. I'm looking forward to what's up to come with it.

Really like this video he shows just about everything involved. No fancy editing this is how it is with old trucks and cars. Rust is NOT YOUR FRIEND you have to fight it all the way. Just as he did here heat, penetrating oil, and impact very good video.
Sweet looking truck! Love Rough Country, I am saving up to get a lift on my 2017 wrangler unlimited sport. I have been a fan of Rough Country for years. Again The truck looks awesome and cant wait to see more things done to it.

I just recently put a rough country 4 inch lift on my 1978 F250. I remember doing the same stuff as I had to raise the truck but lower the axle assembly.
Nice work cool truck. I’d love to see that thing cleaned up. Body, paint and a few accessory’s. You don’t see those anymore in my neck of the woods.
Dig the white letters! Really bring out the whole truck. Funny how much the little things make such a big difference. And Rough Country makes great products.

Trailduster looks killer!!! I have to admire a fellow that can make a dodge run right. I remember them here in Canada the mid 70's where they are hard starting vehicles in the hot or cold. Older ones with points ran like a dream.
I had an 81 power wagon and I loved it. I always liked them more than the blazers or broncos 💪
Fabric softener is very flammable, that is something that I have learned in trade school and experience a few time, sometimes you don’t even see the flame, a other thing I have learned in trade school is that the spark will bounce better on wool and cotton then on synthetic material. Hope this help you not catching up in flame to often.

I had a set of Kenda Klever tires on a mega cab dodge I used to have. They looked amazing and actually seemed to be a decent tire, not overly noisy and good wear.
I've got a set on my XJ.
Great on pavement, and in S. FL mud and sand. And with the luchbox lockers from Spartan, it's pretty much unstuckable.
I had a 79 .I wish that I had it now.it was my favorite vehicle that I ever had thanks for the great video.

Watching this makes me miss my old 1979 Power Wagon, which also had the NP203 full time 'box on it.
I used 4” Rough County on my ‘74 TrailDuster. I removed the rear bottom short leaf on both rears. Rides better, flex is better. Front leafs were also modified too. One leaf on both sides removed. Rides better and flex is better. I Added a rear sway bar for street driving. 285 75 16 AT tires all around on 9” aluminum rims with negative 6” offset. Makes tires fit under fenders nicely. Installed Stabilizer on front.

I had a GMC Jimmy that was pretty much the same thing. High lift huge tires with a 350 that thing was awesome. Drove it through 18" of snow no problem. Jumped medians no prob. There was nowhere that truck couldn't go. Best part the back cap was removable for summer.👌
Great tire and wheel combo, looks great with the lift.
Those tires will be good. On my 3rd set on my truck. Never had a problem in snow or mud.
