Why should we help Gondor? part2

- An interesting topic:
Even if someone hasn't been there for us (like, in this case, Gondor hasn't been there for Rohan), we should help him, if he is (or can potentially become) our ally, otherwise we are both doomed...

That's golden haha
If memory serves, the Tooks were somewhat of nobility amongst hobbits (as much as they could be said to have nobility). Pippin here shows that he's not a Took for nothing.
@Rafael Couto No no no, he is THE fool of a Took lol
I thought they were the weird family that went on adventures, which hobbits frown upon
@@juliandacosta6841 Tooks have many unique traits, including being taller than most hobbits. While hobbits do tend to frown upon adventuring, they do respect Tooks. Maybe it's a matter of a "quirk of nobility" kind of thing or maybe they secretly admire Took courage. Can't really say.
@@RaynmanPlays Genetically they're different. There were originally three types of hobbits with different traits, one was a mercantile mannish type with beards, another was a waterfaring group (Gollum is from this group) and the last if I remember correctly were tall almost elf-like hobbits capable of great deeds which the tooks, brandybucks and Biblo are related to I believe
@@whatisthepointofthis1 Merry, Bilbo, and Frodo all have Took blood through the female line.
Why is this broken up into so many parts
Better than editing the shit out of it to avoid copyright.
I never realized how much pippin climbed damn
Gandalf sends Pippin without explaining what he should do:D LOL
Olorin Grey I think it’s obvious given previous conversations about the need for Gondor to receive aid. Pippin is a fool yes but he isn’t a half wit. Gandalf took him to the beacon and given the hobbits ability to move quickly and his small size well, you figure it out.
Gandalf: "Screw this"
*lights a fireball*

It always felt like Gandalf was being manipulative in this scene… almost like he wasn’t of a separate race to humans.
00:24 It took me at least my second watch-through to realize, uh nah it ain't that short tower on the right, it's that wee speck on that far mountain in the background center.
For a sec I thought that Gollem was in Minas Tirith as well... But no... he was near Shelobs lair with Sam and Frodo
Sure, there was no way Gandalf could have lit that ting from afar. It's not like he had fire magic.
He's not allowed to use his magic skills. That would make him a black wizard.
@@flame_of_the_west8909 that's just plain stupid.

Must take forever to get to the top of Gondor
Gandalf could have easily lit the beacons on his own.
His mission was to avoid taking such proactive action unless it was absolutely unavoidable. He also was not allowed to use his supernatural abilities if at all possible.
@@eamonreidy9534 Yes but he did light camp fires casually for the fellowship when they were in bad conditions so I don't think the gods would have minded a little spark 😏
Ditto. I was thinking same. 😅

*inhales toke*
Why didnt Gandalf just shoot a fucking fireball at it?
Would anyone really try to question a dude that can shoot fireballs just sayin
I think they just wanted to be sneaky about it. Denether in the movie refused to call for aid, so he probably would order the guards to stop Gandalf and Pippin, had they noticed them trying to light the beacon, and Gandalf shooting a fireball would definitely draw attentiin. Pippin, however? He can be unnoticed thanks to his height and light steps, so the guards didn't see and catch him. That means he can freely light the beacon.
gandalf isn't much of a direct actor
