A real Irish artist, like Dolores and many more. This is so heart-wrenching, but so cleverly written about when Ireland was invaded by the British, described in a metaphor as a young couple, the Irish being a young girl who was in a relationship with a British soldier and fell pregnant with him, and he walked away and left her alone heartbroken. Often people like Sinead are not understood the depth of her passion continually tormented her . .Sometimes your passion runs so deep you continually struggle .She probably never realized the impact she made on others .I’m sure many times she felt very alone .
There are a lot of Englishmen out there that love her she is a great talent and I for one hope she is healing and hope that God helps her find solace after all she has been through. Love You Sinead XXX
Beautiful beyond words. Sinead O’Connor is just magnificent. So much respect for her. I hope Ireland holds her as a national treasure. What an essentially important artist in our history. 💜
I cry watching this. I never knew her, but i knew her. Such a blessed pure voice. I was watching tv that night when she tore that picture. I knew my entire life the evil going down. I stood by her actions. And look what has come out about the synagogue of satan? She was correct. Who is left to say sorry to?
what a woman wow, I don't think I realized at the time how amazingly powerful, wise and compassionate this absolute amazing woman is, please forgive me, much much love 💜🙏
This is a song which truly shows the light that Sinead shone into the world. To be so compassionate and gentle to someone who was an oppressive and murderous force in Ireland shows you the special type of human being this lady was.
I'm half Irish, half Yorkshire. My father was Irish, I share his humour, passion and forgiveness. I've taken time to study irish history. The vast majority of English people know nothing of Irelands past or the way her men, women and children were treated. If they went away and educated themselves instead of relying on only what they are told. . .then they would truly understand 800 years of Irelands history. . .as i do now. I hope my children, if not me live to see Ireland united and free.
This is exactly how I remember Sinead. In 1993 I was fortunate enough to be in her class at The Bel Canto School of Music In Dublin. Although she was a huge global artist, in there Sinead was just... Sinead. One of the most beautiful souls you could ever hope to meet on this earth.
If Tracy Chapman takes my soul to the gates of Paradise then Sinead will keep me there eternally, hey bar tender give me another drink and turn the volume up...
Maybe do not seek to reduce her. She is always kind. A little louder when her or her children's needs are neglected by others. Survival, protection frustration maybe , obviously understandably . Understanding, not judging. Pls try, for her, others... and yourself xx

Such a powerful pure soul. She was fearless and suffered such brutality as a child. The Catholic church has been monstrous. Mankind and its conceit and hunger for power and control in organized religions as well as governments all over. It is never ending.
I have listened to this breathtaking song many, many times. It is one of my all-time favourite Sinéad songs and I just can’t get enough of it. I will never tire of hearing her voice. I hope she has now found the peace she longed for. You were so loved, Sinéad x
Your music has been a comfort during the tormenting bouts of insanity and your life was an inspiration which I always strove to imitate during my brief moments of lucidity. My heart is beyond broken! You paid your dues and the whole world owes you! The world lost its fiercest warrior today. More a man than any man, a great brother in time of need, and a mother/father of the church that was most sorely needed. Thank you for tearing down Popes that needed to be, and thank you for not bowing before any king! I love you S.O.!
This song breaks my heart as an Englishman. And the reason why it does is because it doesn't strike me as a love song from an abused Irish woman to her hard English boyfriend... ...but from the battered Republic of Ireland to the hard United Kingdom. From Sineaed's country to mine. Our two countries are mostly fond of each other, there's a lot of love between our peoples, but... let's just say that we, the British have fone a fair amount orf bad things to the Irish for many centuries and we, the British, tend to gloss over it or forget it ever happened. Ther Irish don't forget, they just don;t holf onto their hate (for the most part) But for us, it's all bygones y'know, in the past and a little too awkward to dwell on. Even though the consequences of all that ecgoes down even to today.
You should hear yourself, mate. It’s no wonder the Irish don’t forget, how can they, the day the English quit being English is when they’ll start forgetting. You still don’t get it, do you?

Did you know 4 days ago that she was about to go to her beloved son....?
@@unabellapalomablanka No Sir, I did not.
@@Jojobber what unfortunate timing
@@unabellapalomablanka She has been quite open about that she intend to end her life, for at least a year.
RIP Sinead. A beautiful soul not afraid to stick to her principles.
or: not afraid to abandon her principles… ?
Revisiting Sinead with this powerful song. I see Sinead and Dolores O'Riordan hand in hand, running through the tall, warm grasses and flowers of summer in their native homeland Ireland, singing out to the sun.... God bless you women. Rest in Peace.
There is nothing so heartbreaking as the clear, ringing cry of an Irish voice.
So true
That lilt.
now THAT is well said.
Agreed. There is so much longing in it.
@@barrypuckett2488 the Scots have it too. It's the Celtic fight for freedom.
Unglaubliche Stimme, außergewöhnliche Ausstrahlung. Ich bin immer nahe an den Tränen. RIP Sinéad.
Jesus, one forgets her sheer beauty as her songs are overwhelming. She was simply gorgeous. My feelings are numbed because I'm on a shedload of meds but on hearing of her death, grief hit me hard. RIP Sinead and Shane. ❤❤
Rest easy my wild Irish Rebel. I will miss you and your courage.
There are some very lucky people who were in that studio to witness that. She was an astonishingly good singer. Pains to say was ….
Ireland should be so proud of you. Rest in peace with your little boy. Blessings.
As a very moderate protestant from Tyrone, I think this is a beautiful song , Rest in Peace Sinead 😢
How is this not more famous?
Greeting from Egypt to you Sinead and to the ppl of Ireland 🇮🇪 .
a genuine tragedy that we could not enjoy this beautiful talent for a bit longer
Listening to this with tears in my eyes after hearing of the passing of Sinead .
Rest in peace
Sinead was a very gifted and yet troubled person who cared for people. Like anyone of us.
Sure as hell no autotune or lip syncing in her performances. True artist.
Her voice was the most pure I think I’ve ever heard. Incredible talent. RIP beautiful legend.
Sinead and now Shane. Two unbelievable legends gone in the one year, just not fair
I am heartbroken. Sinead died yesterday, July 26, 2023, at such a young age. Sinead saw me through some really tough times. And this song in particular is so powerfully sung from deep within her beautiful heart and soul. God bless you Sinead! Rest in peace.
Often people like Sinead are not understood the depth of her passion continually tormented her . .Sometimes your passion runs so deep you continually struggle .She probably never realized the impact she made on others .I’m sure many times she felt very alone .
Well said. Her empathy and emotional depth made her a great singer, but also made her very vulnerable. The curse of the great artists, I think.
@@StCreed yes I agree .I loved her passion and her music .I think I own every recording she ever made .
As a long time fan, when I come back to listen to these after a while away, her amount of talent still astounds me.
What a voice. What a spirit. What a human being. What a loss.
🕯️💚🤍🧡 May Creator Keep and Bless Sinead O’Connor’s Family, Friends, and Fans!
May Peace ✌🏾 Reign R.I.P. Sinead 🌿🦬🌿🦌🌿

I cry watching this. I never knew her, but i knew her. Such a blessed pure voice. I was watching tv that night when she tore that picture. I knew my entire life the evil going down. I stood by her actions. And look what has come out about the synagogue of satan? She was correct. Who is left to say sorry to?
❤
No one sings like this woman did. She left us way too soon. I will love her forever!!!
It's hard to not get emotional watching this every time I come back. One of the most powerful performances I've ever seen.
what a woman wow, I don't think I realized at the time how amazingly powerful, wise and compassionate this absolute amazing woman is, please forgive me, much much love 💜🙏
Rest in power, Sinead.
This is the most beautifully sung song I have ever heard. My eyes are filled with tears. She is so talented and a beautiful soul. Thank you sinead. 💕
Beautiful,hermosa,wow,I'm moved Ellen

Thank you so much,Sinead. Be your soul in Peace. Long live and peace to Ireland !
Dave Molloy I’m half Irish and half Yorkshire also. God bless you and I agree with you 100%
Youll see it dave dont worry mate its coming
iam full English no halves in me , and understand history fully read and observe
can the Irish be trusted? The Brits intercept shipments of arms from Palestine...
This is exactly how I remember Sinead. In 1993 I was fortunate enough to be in her class at The Bel Canto School of Music In Dublin. Although she was a huge global artist, in there Sinead was just... Sinead. One of the most beautiful souls you could ever hope to meet on this earth.
She's still the same beautiful soul
Wow ..u are so lucky
Im from Serbia I love Irland.
@Patrick Joseph O Reilly What makes you say this ? Unless you know her personnaly

I prayed for Sinead and hope she is in Heaven now with her son. I grew up with her Music and she will be forever in our hearts❤! RiP
If Tracy Chapman takes my soul to the gates of Paradise then Sinead will keep me there eternally, hey bar tender give me another drink and turn the volume up...
Yup!
I like her when she's angry, but I love her when she's kind. Beautiful song!
Maybe do not seek to reduce her. She is always kind. A little louder when her or her children's needs are neglected by others. Survival, protection frustration maybe , obviously understandably .
Understanding, not judging. Pls try, for her, others... and yourself xx
I saw a wild deer this morning sinead it wasn’t scared of me I it was magical it is my friends funeral tomorrow I loved her so did poppy love you sinead 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢❤❤❤❤❤ 2:35
Sad news tonight just got word Sinead has passed away. RIP Sinead you will never be forgotten.
Such a powerful pure soul. She was fearless and suffered such brutality as a child. The Catholic church has been monstrous. Mankind and its conceit and hunger for power and control in organized religions as well as governments all over. It is never ending.
idiotic statement, the church are pple like you and me, some are sinful
Have you noticed that they love natural disasters so they can go on appeals for money, most of which goes down their pockets.
When she sings, you hear her passion. That a real singer.
This brought tears to my eyes. The way she inhabits every song she sings…
Thinking of her on what would've been her birthday... RIP.🖤
a truly great artist, who the world has let down.may god forgive us.
43 years old and only just discovered this beautiful song ,,, wow
The song is 15 years old and I still love it, Sinead is brilliant love her
I have listened to this breathtaking song many, many times. It is one of my all-time favourite Sinéad songs and I just can’t get enough of it. I will never tire of hearing her voice. I hope she has now found the peace she longed for. You were so loved, Sinéad x
❤️
Just beautiful. Takes me right back to my teen years. I had a huge crush on Sinead. Never forgotten.
Ireland’s greatest ever female singer. I put her in the top ten female singers in the world at her peak. Her song “Troy” is devastating
nearly as good as Samantha Mumba
That's a very powerful song, I cried first time I heard it
Love you Sinead R.I.P. sinead
i’m so baked and this performance is just the best thing in human history
Ditto 😄
Me too man
Your music has been a comfort during the tormenting bouts of insanity and your life was an inspiration which I always strove to imitate during my brief moments of lucidity.
Ther Irish don't forget, they just don;t holf onto their hate (for the most part)
But for us, it's all bygones y'know, in the past and a little too awkward to dwell on. Even though the consequences of all that ecgoes down even to today.
You should hear yourself, mate. It’s no wonder the Irish don’t forget, how can they, the day the English quit being English is when they’ll start forgetting. You still don’t get it, do you?
@@quemades "You should hear yourself, mate. It’s no wonder the Irish don’t forget, how can they, the day the English quit being English is when they’ll start forgetting. You still don’t get it, do you?"
What are English people?
How do English people quit being English?
I love you my hard Englishman
Your rage is like a fist in my womb
Can't you forgive what you think I've done
And love me, I'm your woman
And I desire you my hard Englishman
And there is no more natural thing
So why should I not get loving
Don't be cold Englishman
How come you never said you love me
In all the time you've known me
How come you never say you're sorry
I do
Oh please talk to me Englishman
What good will shutting me out get done
Meanwhile crazies are killing our sons
Oh listen, Englishman
I've honored you hard Englishman
Now I am calling your heart to my own
Oh let glorious love be done
Be truthful Englishman
How come you never said you love me
In all the time you've known me
How come you never say you're sorry
I do
