I’m leaning towards the youth more. I like Miles but he contributed more towards the weakness of the team more than the strength. Blocking and running hard was something miles didn’t do if I remember correctly.
Once I see Shipley I’ll have a much better idea I just worry about the drop off after Barkley. Lot of this really depends on how Shipley is

People forget Kendal Milton. He’s the second best RB on the team. He complements Barclay 6’2 230 Ibs, power back and fast. Watch out, he’s a Georgia guy. Should have been a second rounder, but injury history.

Miles is probably headed to Indianapolis( via trade reunited with Shane Steichen) Miles will get more quality playing time there... Unfortunately, chances are lowe for his return back to Philly..
How much time will he really get? Jonathan Taylor is still the guy in Indy so he would be a back up but Steichen would be a good fit
Behind Barkley, the depth is underwhelming. I wanna see Milton develop into the short-yardage power back I think this roster still needs.

I look at Gainwell like I looked at Buckhulter to Brian Westbrook. He's a good back up only and can step up in certain games and a chest piece as a mismatch if used correctly.

I feel like last year, AJ brown and Devonta smith and other guys was not okay with playing with their roles compared to 2022-23 season. They was just wanted to get theirs and not caring about the win until we had to win. Always asking for the ball and stuff instead of being happy that their teammate get to catch the ball

Doubt it will happen honestly, BUT for anybody who is against this potential move: Eagles don’t make their Super Bowl run without having their RB depth. Blount, Ajayi, Smallwood and SB surprise standout Corey Clement all contributed and helped keep each other fresh towards the end of the reg season. I’d sign Miles in a heartbeat

I honestly think we’re fine at RB and WR in terms of depth. At some point we need to be realistic about the number of roster spots. Are we carrying more than 3 RBs? Hell no. Are we carrying more than 5 or 6 receivers? Nope. The depth is there (especially with Rookies). Unless you’re trying to tell me we drafted players so they can be on our practice squad.
I respect your opinion on that. I feel the opposite. Shipley maybe the answer but I got to see him. After Shipley I don’t care for what we got. Then at WR I don’t know who are quality backups are on the outside. We got some young guys but we don’t know. If I add a sanders I cut a Gainwell. So I’m not suggesting taking up more spots just replacing with better talent. That’s just my opinion though

I’ve been saying we should try to bring back Miles ever since we signed Barkley. Loved getting him, but totally see a major drop off in the backups. Maybe Shipley turns out to be good, but I’d rather have a known commodity while Shipley gets experience. And as Philly500 pointed out, Miles will likely be looking for a reboot after a year in Carolina.

I may be the only one but i think gainwell and sanders are kind of the same. Gainwelll has consistently averaged 4.3 yds per carry since coming. He’s a pretty good pass blocker and he can catch the ball. I think the eagles like gainwell and wont be interested in sanders.
I don’t believe he is a good pass blocker and his Carrie’s have always been limited. Miles was a way better back in my opinion. I respect your opinion though 💯

I got to respectfully disagree I think he is a #3 at best. I thought Boston Scott was a better RB. We have a 1 in Barkley is a clear cut 1 a true 3 down back. I think we have a 1 then no 2 a 3 (Shipley) who maybe a #2 but I need to see him play and then Gainwell a 3. That is my opinion. If something happens to Barkley it’s a great drop off.

@@philly.500 Yes the more depth the better and we still have $27 mil in cap why not use it to our advantage. Depth is important so to me Sanders would be a good signing for depth. It's always better to add players because even if we think were good the more guys we have the more talent we will get and if someone goes down the more depth you have the better.
No way that Miles Sanders is coming back to Philly. For one thing, he had a terrible year in Carolina, which is why he'll probably be cut (if he hasn't been already). For another thing, he won't want to come back to Philly because he won't get many touches behind Barkley. For another thing, he's a "been there, done that" in Philly. Coming back as a backup would be a big blow to his ego. It won't make for a happy camper.
I respect your opinion. He did have a terrible year which will get him cut. Now if he is cut in August his best bet maybe a 1 yr deal to a place he can elevate his value for the following offseason. I think this would put the Eagles in play. Think about it if he gets cut this summer he won’t sign with any team that’s going to hand him a starting job. Maybe Dallas. So he will most likely settle for a cheap 1yr deal. I’m not expecting it to be honest but I do think it’s a good idea. 1 he is better than everyone not named Barkley, he knows the eagles and Philly, he also knows Barkley. Could be the perfect spot to build up his value for the next off season. Either way @steves11 miles or no miles they need another RB for depth purposes. Just my opinion 👍
Personally wouldn’t make sense to me. If the gap was that much of a matter they should’ve just kept Swift as we originally wanted and let him be behind Barkley cuz he better then the other options. And I think they may let jalen run a little more this year Vs trying to keep him in the pocket
Remember though Swift signed with the Bears 7 minutes into free agency and got way more money then anyone thought he would get. They actually tried to give him a 2 year deal early in the year last season. He wouldn’t sign it. I do think right now we have a big drop off from Barkley to the rest of the backs
