- Hey beauties!! I’m back with another video! Today, I want to share what’s going on with me dealing with menopause and entering into the post menopausal stage. I want to share how I’ve gained weight and how I’m losing the weight and what’s helping me. Also, the new products that I’m using and the benefits that I’m seeing from it. As we age, our hormones are all over the place. We look the mirror and ask ourselves, who is this person that’s looking back at us? It’s almost a little intimidating at first. We as women never really talk about these things. I want to break this cycle and let’s start talking and sharing so that this next generation will not have to wonder what’s happening, they will know. I became vegetarian in 2012 because my body couldn't process red meat anymore. In 2019, I started craving meat, so I started eating it again in small portions (red meat, not a big chicken fan). I gained 15 lbs and was constantly bloated. I'm a very active person so this was strange to me. By September of that year, my body said, "Stop eating meat!" Even the smell made me nauseous.🤷🏽♀️ I stopped eating meat and went back to being vegetarian. I lost 10 lbs🤷🏽♀️
2024, I decided to go vegan. Lost 5 more lbs🤷🏽♀️
I started my menopause journey at 45. I'll be 55 in November. I haven't had a period in 6 months.
You are so right about doing what's best for your own body! I used to LOVE red meat! Filet mignon with blue cheese and mushrooms was my favorite, yum yum 🥰 My body has other plans and I listen. I could never drink coffee. Matcha is my drink of choice (hot and cold). I take vitamin C, vitamin D, and Bioflex. The rest I get from my diet. I do Paul Eugene, Tai Chi, and walk/hike. I walk after dinner. If the weather is bad, I do yoga or tai chi. I see my doctor every year for a full check-up and lots of labs to make sure I'm getting all my body needs to be healthy. I get a bone density test every 2 years. It's important to check your bone health for signs of osteoporosis. I eat a breakfast of Just Egg (made from mung beans) mushrooms, spinach, green onion, and hash browns. For lunch, I have fruit and nuts. Dinner is whatever we feel like cooking. We add vegan foods a few times a week, but it's mostly veggies. (We get our protein tested yearly, and it's good).

That’s so awesome you found what’s working for you! I really wanted to do the Vegan thing but it’s just not for my body! It was ok in the beginning but I was gassy all the time. Great tips! Sometimes, as we mature, we have to change so many things. Practices that once worked may no longer work. Thanks for reminding those of us over 50 that it is okay to do what is best. Each individual is different. Blessings to you.

@NeeCJae The hot flashes were very bad last week. I thought I was losing it but this week I've hardly had any. I always feel funny right before it starts lol. No cycle since March.
