- Incredible flying display at the 1995 RAF Leuchars Airshow by a Fokker F-27 Troopship from 334 Squadron of the Koninklijke Luchtmacht / Royal Netherlands Air Force at Eindhoven. The routine starts with a very low pass down the runway and set the standard for the rest of the display which included a couple of 360 degree turns with one engine powered down and props feathered. The display also included some very steep turns and a steep approach at the end to round off the display! The 1995 F-27 display was piloted by First Lt Willem Wildvank and co-pilot Jan Brekelmans
I logged about 3,000 hours as PIC on these wonderful machines in the jungles and mountains of Papua New Guinea! This was back when it was VFR everywhere and the challenges and fun we had squirting up valley or through a gap (7,000 ft high) was the best part of my flying career. A reliable and beautiful to fly aircraft!
Awesome! I have worked at ANG in PNG for approx a year as Engineer on the Fokker 100's, quite an experience ;-)
wow! i flew in F27 back when i was a kid in the early 90's in my country, those were the days for flying for me , also i had the chance to be onboars a lockheed Electra 4 engines ... never seen the F27 doing such amazing display thx for this video bringa back old memories
Cheers Drew, yeah it was one of the best displays on the circuit by far. Would love to have been sat in the plane during that display!!!!
Those were the days... fantastic video. We don't see something links that anymore! Thanks!!!
Excellent video of a truly wonderful display.........bring back the displays like this!!!!!
I just can't believe that the "old" queen (F27. C-8) we had in our hanger is this EXACT same plane. I knew it had some awesome stories, but omg it's fantastic to see how it could fly back in her days. Thanks for uploading this video 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Btw.... She doesn't fly anymore, she i being used for training purposes by the Dutch airforce.
Many thanks for your comment Jacob, I'ts always great to hear from somebody with a connection to the planes in the videos! It was an amazing display by the pilot, he certainly knew how to fly the F27! Where is she located now?
@@flyingboats21 she's located at the airbase of Eindhoven and is used as a trainer for aircraft maintencance technicians. Great pleasure to work on her as a part of my final year in college👍
Saw this display at Leicester airshow the same year. Absolutely awesome display by a sizeable aircraft. Thanks for posting
Great video! I flew in many of these, such an underrated aircraft, expertly flown here and nicely filmed, and that final approach…wow! Good stuff, 11/10!
The F27 was one of the most successful European airliners of its era. I see nothing but praise in the CZcams comments under every F27 video. For a long time it was the best sold Western European Turboprop passenger jet (now surpassed by the ATR 72). How is it underrated ?
Sharply flown, no question!
That was fabulous. What a plane!!!
Thanks Chris, it doesn't seem nearly 20 years since I took this video! Time flies!
AMAZING 50 YEAR OLD PLANE PERFORMING LIKE A RC PLANE..
This is fantastastic, i love seeing the 'older' vids! :)
I remember that display from Leuchars. Amazing.
Thanks, yeah, it was an awesome display!
Thanks!
Incredible good airshow.
Fantastic video!

They cut the roll. Did he complete it ?
Tell someone how much the total weight of this flight will be?
旅客機でこのようななことができるとは驚きです! パイロットの腕前もあるのでしょうけれど。
