Jag XZ358 (@ 3.41) - I was part of the 'demo team' for 41 Sqn for five seasons in the 1980's, remember this machine very well. Like seeing an old friend again. Thanks for sharing this. Very best from NZ.
I like how this is edited, the little clips of each plane while the audio keeps going, feels very smooth, nice job..I remember going to Leuchars air show as a wee boy in the early 90s.
Been to a few Leuchars airshows and they were brilliant. Best one just after the Falklands War was particularly good. Once I went on a special train from Glasgow and it left to go back to Glasgow 5 minutes before the Red Arrows display, never seen much of it from the train. There's planning for you!
@@johnstewart5363 Thanks John, your videos have certainly brought back some wonderful memories. The one with the Lightnings at Leuchars was great. First time I ever saw them was as a child at Burntisland in Fife on a very rare family day out. I was sitting with my feet in the paddling pool watching 3 or 4 Lightnings flying overhead. With hindsight was probably the event which sparked my interest in aviation and may even been responsible for my older brother later joining the RAF. Our house was full of Airfix model!
@@weebolddavy I’m really glad I took the video camera then, I still enjoy watching all the videos I took back then! I’ve never been to burnt island, worked beside a guy from there though😀
My last trip to leuchars!! Went a few times between 81 n 86 as I had family living/working there....didn't go again until a friend of mine who I had no idea was interested in aircraft asked me to join her....turns out she was more interested in crew than machines😆😆 I had thought it was 94 but I remember the 2 tigers/sharks next to the German tornadoes......first time I ever got the scale of a B-52
The year would of been 1988,the last phantom display at leuchars was 1992,remember the phantom display in 1988 as it was commented on that the display pilot was pushing the airframe to its limits and sadly the following week while practicing for the Abingdon air show flew into the ground killing both crew members.
@@johnstewart5363 Hawk XX193 was at the 1995 Show, it was lost in a crash in Cumbria in 1999 which killed both crew and blocked both the A6 and West Coast Mainline Railway.
@@Scotscan its 1995. The Dutch Scramble Aviation web Site has Show reports listing aircraft (and their serial numbers) attending Air shows way into the past. The 100 Sqn Hawk in the video is listed as being at that show in 1995.

Yes 1995 my first trip to Leuchars was great. I was with the New Hampshire KC135 Aircrew Life Support .
1995 John, yeah and excellent video mate good memories there :)
1995, I think. I was there too.
Love the Phantom towards the end, neither the fastest or most maneuverable but easily produces the most smoke

I have another leuchars air show somewhere, will post when I find it😀

That certainly is bad planning! I have another show on film from back then, will post when I find it😀

Wow superb 😍

I am most defeniately certain 94 or 95 as Norwegian F -5s not there at 96 :)
Now that I've watched the whole thing...wow!!! Show that phantom rolling to any modern pilot and watch beads of sweat appear....
The F-16 display was by a Belgian pilot. Maybe that helps to establish the year. Dutch F-16's were among the static aircraft.
Couldn’t remember the year but great days😀
Thought that mid 1990's was a good guess. Note the 48 FW F-15C, and the RAF Tornadoes and Jaguars in the green/gray camouflage.
1995

That’s a bad blow to hear of its demise, I have another leuchars air show to put up here😀
Eagles weren't at lakenheath until 1992 I think so couldn't be 88?.

Are we sure this is 88'?? The dress, general feel of the video appears later than that

Atleast 1912, huh?
That’s what I was thinking 🤔
