And the award for the smokiest, greasiest, gnarliest arrival goes to....the F4 Phantom!

June 1994. I drove like a nut job after the last aircraft recovered at Yeovilton. To RAF Brize Norton to get a Photo of Air force One leaving that same afternoon. Happy Days...

Most of those pilots are thinking: "Why is this runway so long? Why isn't it pitching & rolling?"

Late 80s to mid 90s were the glory years for UK airshows.

Liked the film strip. Brought back memories of the days when I wanted to fly and the US-Navy turned me down.

All the different types, and a minimum of 4 planes per type. Man those were the days. You dont see them like this anymore. Spotting is slowly dying 😢

I was stationed RAF Lakenheath on the brand new F15e’s in 1994. I remember launching and recovering for flyovers on both sides of the channel.

Thanks for posting this. I had a Navy pal at Yeovilton who wangled me a seat in the parachute retrieval van, so I got a close view but wasn't allowed a video camera - 27 years later you came up trumps!

Those Navy flyboys in F-18s hit the runway like it's a carrier.

EPIC video. Man, I would have LOVED to be sitting with the crowd watching them fly in. Ridiculously close to the planes and the runway. Thanks for posting.

AS someone who coordinated air shows for 18 of my 20 years in Naval aviation, this was a great mix of different aircraft from all over the world

The best video I’ve seen this day / month / year. So pleased I’m old enough to remember when we had so many exotic jets, but so sad we’ll never see the like ever again.
