As for the scar on his belly, I guess Puss paid no mind to if at the time since he was worried about the Wolf (who he didnât know was literally Death at the time) hunting him down, plus he didnât know about his abusive past at the time.

â@@thespeedyyoshi not really. It would be a twist for the sake of a twist. Which isnt good. A twist is meant to recontextualize scenes before but also let them make sense to the eventual twist.
That would just sully all the moments Perrito has with Puss. Him wanting to he his friend is changed to be beeding an ally. Him calming Puss down goes from looking after a friend in need to a manipulative action. Plus, theres nothing to even suggest it's his goal, if anything, the movie promotes tons to say theres no malice in him at all
