I'm working on my own horror comic and I'm the opposite.
I prefer werewolves to be have fur, claws, and wolf heads but humanoid bodies. And no tails.
A werewolf with a tail just looks like a typical anthropomorphic wolf. It's how I seperate the two. Anthrop wolves have tails, werewolves don't. A skinwalker or simple shapeshifter however do have tails because they are becoming animals. A werewolf is forced to be a bastardization of both man and beast.
That's my justification anyway.

The magic School bus at least makes it seem like the kids know what they're doing is normal for animals. Kind of strange that they are so willing though.
