You mounted the accelerometer in wrong orientation. You may get better results mounting it correct
I was about to say the same.
So you don't have to leave the vibration sensor connected permanently?
No, it's only needed when doing the input shaping. I should mention that I mounted the sensor incorrectly in this video, and have since 3D printed a small mounting bracket (supplied by Creality) and redone it with the sensor in the correct orientation.
