    I really enjoyed all 6 dyeing related videos. You are easy to listen to and also quite knowledgeable about the craft. A great binge for a seclusion afternoon while knitting a pair of socks.

    Thank you so much for this video! I want to dye, but I'm really insecure about the process, you show it very well. The colour I'm looking for is also a tonal colour, so, I am grateful for your help!

    Beautiful colour! Thank you for these videos! One question … If I choose to use vinegar instead of citric acid, how much would I need to use. Is it just equal amounts of citric acid to vinegar replacement?

    Thank you for your informative videos! I learned a lot about why my yarn wasn't coming out the color(s) that I wanted. I want to purchase something from your shop, but I can't seem to find it. Let me know where I can purchase some yarn from you!

    Thank you for those very interesting videos. I have a question. What is the degre of heat that you use. I could see the water boiling in the pan. I suppose superwash wool can take that but I think non treated wool would felt. Would you have specific advices on how to dye nontreated wool in the crockpot as well as the hotel pan?

    Hi, I have watched quite a few dyeing videos now, and I’m confused about the amount of acid to add. It seems to be a bit arbitrary. Is there a rule of thumb about how much to add? Does it depend on the weight of yarn, or the depth of colour, or the speed of striking, or anything? Would the dye penetrate the wool more evenly if you add the acid after it’s been dyeing for awhile, instead of at the start?

    I love your videos, you are very clear in your explanation and what you are doing.
    Is there a rule about how much dye per pound of yarn?
    How about water, would you have achieved the same results using 18 cups of water in your pot instead of 12?

      stitchnup I’m not the person in this video. however, I do dye yarn myself and no the amount of water is just an amount of water the dye will be the same if you where to add 6 cups of water she’s doing a full emerging in this video. Witch is more water and yarn floating freely in the pot. Gives you more of the water color effect. And with less water you have more control over the dye(depending on the amount of water that is) hope this helps. If I left out anything out please let me know I haven’t been dyeing very long but watch everything I can and classes really really help. Happy dyeing!

    Is the variation in colour gradient because it's a natural fibre, or do acid dyes generally do this to wools and synthetics?

    If your yarn has been soaking in room temperature water and you put it into hot dye bath, seems like it might felt. Should you put it in dye bath before it gets hot?

    • @knottywoodyarn9629
      @knottywoodyarn9629  Před 4 lety +2

      You can do it both ways with superwash yarn. That is mainly what I dye. If you are dyeing other fiber you would have to start cool.
